My idea is to change food from having a certain amount of uses to just having a percentage bar. It's annoying having to feed a lioness twice off the same zebra when she could eat her fill in one go.
One use of a zebra feeds your lion 60%. A zebra carcass has 6 uses, so the carcass would have 360% meat remaining when unused.
So say you have a lioness at 80% hunger. You click 'feed' and your lions hunger goes down by 80%, and the zebra's meat percentage bar goes down to 280%.
This would save time because you don't have to feed the lioness twice off a carcass when it could have filled her the first time. I know all the clicking involved annoys me lol. When the carcass reaches 0% it disappears.

There could be an option to switch between feeding systems and the default option would be food uses so new players are not caught off guard before they learn how much hunger satisfaction each carcass provides.

Or you can type in the percentage of food you wish your lioness to consume. This would prevent running out of prey before all your lions had the chance to feed.

As Paige said, This could also help for when you have lionesses that only need to be fed a little bit, but all you have are large carcasses & you really don't want to waste the 60% feeding capacity on the lioness when they only need 20%, but you have to because that's the only way it goes.

I'm going to have to say no support. This system would be a bigger hassle for me than the current one, anyway, and displaying anything as over 100% is very improper. A zebra carcass cannot be more than 100% a zebra carcass, at any rate. Though I suppose a zebra carcass cannot rightly be called 6 uses of zebra either, so the logistics of how to display it are hindered either way. Aside, I fear incorporating this would entice the admins to reduce the chances of success in hunting, which would debilitate anyone that cannot spend more than an hour or so online per day, and often spend less time. The current system makes less real-life logical sense, but works better for a sim game.

That makes sense Drakel :) Thanks for your input and everyone elses. Would it make more sense if instead of % it was something like 'hunger points'? how it is displayed is not really the point but I can see where you are coming from. Also, this system is not the default system. The default one would be as it is now so it is not an inconvenience to anyone

I always have 40+ cubs and 30+ lionesses so I use a lot of food just to satisfy them for 1 day. So if they all were to eat to 0 percent, I would never be able to feed them and I would have to end up chasing
And with the new update, feeding is a lot smoother and quicker

It also helps with newbies trying to ration and people selling and buying food.

I don't want to check the item catalogue to make sure every food item I'm selling is a 60% food item so that when I type "100 uses large food items" I'm telling the truth. I don't think buyers want to either. 6,000% hunger is a much more honest way to sell. Food by hunger points also makes things easier for newbies, who might think each use is the same.

I think a toggle setting would be helpful for people used to rationing by uses, but I would really like to see this implemented. I personally feel this should be the default, as it is more intuitive for newbies and requires less memorization of which carcasses give how much food.

Only problem I might see is smallish carcasses like meerkat and rat give 10%ish to grown lions and 30%ish to cubs and adols.

I support only if it would be an OPTION and I could stay with uses.

Especially since I usually feed my lions to 20% of hunger not 0%. Only pregnant ladies to 0%. And lions I'm not sure I want to keep - just till hunger turn into orange again. So I don't like the idea of system in which you have to feed lions until they're full. And typing how much % you want to feed EACH lion ... nah too much work. BUT I see that some people might like this so if it would be an option and I could toggle the current version... why not?

However I see one problem. If one person has one option and second the second one - how would selling food work? You would see these points or uses? Or maybe both. When I think about it ... Both would be the best
