I think you should be able to strave your lion because whats the point of getting a sub male in early life then? I was just thinkin that somtimes you don't have enough time to play as your sub male.

This suggestion has 323 supports and 238 NO supports.

i think people are getting kind of rude about this because instead of just saying the dont support theyre insulting the idea but even so i understand both points, id love to have this but i do know itll never happen even if every single person voted for it because the site needs people to buy stuff in order to stay active. and yeah you can save up sb i guess but its SO HARD like i have 1000 something but thats now even enough for one GB and to the people saying you should just buy them and get over it i think we should realize not everyone can do that. i get its "cheep" to most but that doesnt mean its cheep to all, i cant buy them because i genuinely dont have the money im sorry to say but that $5 can be the difference in gas, food, even rent. money adds up fast and not everyone can afford to spend even $1, life is hard. BUT with that being said i COMPLETELY understand the point that others think it shouldnt be free and you can save SB (even if its super hard to) and buy GB from other players if its THAT important. like i said i see both points, i play a lot of games i wish had some features for free but realistically if they did they wouldnt be able to stay open because theyd lose money. so yes i do support this but in all reality i know it wont be able to happen. im probably forgetting something else i wanted to say but oh well. and i really hope this doesnt sound offensive to anyone and i apologize if it does, im only trying to explain my personal thoughts and hopefully get people thinking about what i said. im actually a huge fan of debate so i get a bit carried away when voicing my thoughts haha^^

I think folks are misreading the tone of peoples' replies - I do not think anybody on the 'no support' boat mean any malice, or insult whatsoever. Sometimes, expressing opposing views can sound a little harsh, even if that is not truly the case; simply stating "no support" without additional input/why it is a "bad" idea doesn't allow for improvement of the idea, nor will it, well, express as much accordingly. For the most part, I'm not seeing much in terms of rudeness - harshness, a little, but to reiterate, I think it's moreso just a matter of miscommunication.

With that being said, I acknowledge, and respect people who do not have the free time to accumulate the GB to retire; many of us have jobs, school, college, etc. and may not have access to Lioden during those hours, and that some people are much more casual and simply do not frequent Lioden like an avid player would, not to mention emotional reasons and hiatuses.

However, the GB fee is there for a reason - not solely to keep Lioden afloat, but for balance purposes; Lioden may be a game, but it is also multiplayer, with a community and economy that ensures nothing can be exploited or earned immediately. It is a slow-building game based largely around gradually improving, losing, and maintaining at a relatively slow pace. Our kings are a substantial part of the game, and whilst I am sure most of us aren't super fond of our first kings, it does feel like cheating by rushing to the end of their life without working for it by earning the GB or waiting for their natural retirement date.

There are various applicators that can improve your first king's genetics, so if you aren't keen on the prospect of keeping them how they are, you can at least improve upon them, next month in particular has a wide selection.

(This thread is very old, but interesting nevertheless).

i promise to read that later but my head hurts super bad but i wanna say i understand most people didnt mean it badly and while i do think it could have been worded a bit nicer i dont actually think they meant it in a bad way but there was a couple i saw with a direct insult and thats what i was referring to overall though i agree they probably didnt mean to seem rude but those couple insults is what i meant. i think most people were just stating the facts in a blunt way and its not my thing but its still perfectly acceptable, hopefully i explained that well.

as i said i will read your full comment soon but i gotta get some sleep first, but i agree its an old thread that i actually found on accident when i realized my king was at 100% hunger and the rollover was in like an hour. i searched it real quick like ummmmm

side note someone said something about either starving the king and losing the pride with him to start over and i found that interesting but someone said something about a way to pause the game so none of your lions starve and i think that would be smart even if its like a temporary account freeze because i keep thinking about the holidays and i might be travelling for Christmas and im so worried my lions might all leave if i forget to get on while gone. the reason i added this is because im trying to make the point that this tread is defiantly a way to get people thinking (but seriously i think there needs to be a way to freeze the account like how on Instagram you can temporarily disable it and just not use it at all till you come back. thats off track though sorry im ADHD

Ash if you don't roll over your lions won't age, get hungry etc. All accounts have a 'temporary freeze' if you're inactive ^-^

The essential idea's good, and as Katze said, there ARE consequences for starving your lion. HOWEVER I do think it would be a way for cheaters to get away with it without using up any GB. Unlike what many people said though, I don't think it's easy to get GB but still- 10 GB and a few days of irresponsibleness aren't equal. Currently I'm trying to save up SB to trade for GB in the Oasis and also trying for most referrals for the month. I've started a challenge with my friend and if I win, he'll use the referral code.

I agree with this because I don’t want my beginner male and gb is really hard to get maybe you can starve your male once or twice just so that there may be an opportunity for any other lion to become king.

I have a way to fix this idea.
Make it so that your lionesses will slowly start losing more and more mood every day until it accumulates into instantly depleting all your lioness’ mood and they all leave. This would not replace your lion, but you would be stuck without lionesses until you decided to feed him. This would be another reason why people would want to keep their male lion fed as to not lose their hunters. It would also make sense, as they spent all that time getting food for you to just not eat it.

It is easy - get event currency and buy breeding items or base apps from the event shop (usually 3rd Tier) and sell it for GB. In August you can get Buffalo Scrotum for 600 dry bones and sell it for 10gb. It's easy but the trick is to learn what you can sell. And even currency ANYONE can get

I get the point of GB, but some people simply can't afford them. When someone starts off, they start with a rubbish lion, and have to build their way up to better lions. Better lions usually come before your main lion is old enough to retire, and therefore breeding is usually kept too simple, no matter the lioness. I say for on the vote, but if there was an easier way that isn't so "cheaty" to get your main lion to step down, I would happily support it.

CeeKay, event items are the easier way that isnt cheaty. Currently, there's Ochre Gnawrocks - one can give you 20 GB when sold to other players, enough to retire your king. All you need is 150 JB, you can get that in a few days of playing, a week if you're lazy/got little time. That's more than easy to get GB.
