Shadowkit was bought by Lightningheart, and has been part of LightningClan since then. However, he never understood everyone's friendly and good attitudes. He hated it. He saw all of his "Clanmates" as weaklings who worked together to survive, because on their own, they'd rather play and befriend their prey instead of kill and eat it, like they're supposed to. But he knows that there's nothing he can do about it. No matter what, if he voiced his opinion, it could get him chased out or killed, and even if it seems hypocritical, he wouldn't want to go through that. He knows his weaknesses, and he knows that right now, he's just a cub. But perhaps, as a Warrior, he would have a better chance of showing these lions the only way to survive. Maybe... Just maybe, he could also become the leader and sort out the weak himself.
Yes. That could work. It would be hard, no doubt, but.. All he'd have to do is act the part long enough to become the Deputy, then kill the leader himself, frame it on hyenas or some other enemy, and then show this Clan the real way of life.
Now an Apprentice, Shadowpaw plans to do whatever it takes to be the best there is, and prove to the leader that he can handle being a deputy. For now, he's too young to take on that task, but when the time comes, he can't wait to get the highest title in the Clan. It also seems that Flakekit's been getting close and comfy with him. Makes sense, her mother wanted nothing to do with her, and her father already has too many cubs to take care of, let alone her. Every leader seems to have had their own specific mate so far. The original Lightningheart had Sundust. The current Lightningheart has Heatwing. The soon-to-be Lightningheart has... well, no one knows who he's been crushing on, but there has to be somebody. If Shadowpaw wants to be in the norm, he has to follow tradition. Seeing as having a favorite mate is one, why not choose Flakekit for his?
As luck would have it, Lightningheart retired today, and Prunemist became leader. The lucky part is that Dunmane became the new deputy. That forgiving little thing would be the easiest lion to manipulate and let him in power as his deputy. He gave his congratulations, like everyone else, and started planning how this would go immediately.
