Daughter of Jinni and Isokan. Mother of Agha. Great Great Granddaughter of the first lead huntress Isipho. Great Great Granddaughter of the first King Loku. Sister of Sabi, Yahlula, Samada and Tsirkiya, Uvivi and Mikala. Aunt of Shabeel. 5th gen. Jinni much prefers her younger daughter to Yahlula and makes no effort to hide it. Eshu especially loves to rub this in her big sister's face whilst sitting smugly between her mother's paws. Eshu is small but powerful, with a wicked sense of humour and a mean streak towards everybody. Jinni intends to train her to run hunts when she is older - despite her mean nature she is a brilliant hunter, and loves watching her mother at practice and at work. Her father oversees her progress but because of her devious mother, he is much cooler towards little Eshu than his other daughters. This doesn't go unnoticed by the clever, sly little cub and she treats her father with rude indifference. West Africans tell many tales of a wandering trickster spirit known as Eshu among the Yoruba and as Legba among the Fon. This trickster is associated with change and with quarrels; in some accounts, he is the messenger between the world and the supreme god.
