🐾 NOTES 🐾
Former Queen of Providence
🔅G3🔅

🐾 ABOUT 🐾
Formerly the queen of providence, ℰ𝓈𝒻𝒾𝓇 was considered the most brutal and beautiful in the valley. She reigned over the pride with an iron claw, bloodthirsty and cruel like her mate, Enkidu. The birth of her daughter, Jollie, brought some light into her and her mate's lives, making them more likely to listen to others rather than kill them first. ℰ𝓈𝒻𝒾𝓇 was overthrown and exiled when Ellil, his queen Celaeno, and his friend Neptune killed Enkidu and brought the pride back together under the first's rule. Outraged, ℰ𝓈𝒻𝒾𝓇 remained in the valley, keeping to the shadowy side, planning her revenge for the murder of her mate and the betrayal of her daughter.

Right after this time, she was nearly killed by Savannah, a former vengeful traveler who was exiled from the dynasty by the former queen. Ellil saved her to both of the lionesses' surprise. ℰ𝓈𝒻𝒾𝓇 used the situation to her advantage, slipping the valley's ruler many fermented marula fruits. She gave birth to their daughter, Tuuli, soon thereafter. Before she could properly train her daughter in her ways and use her to bring down the current pride, Ellil found out and rescued the young cub. ℰ𝓈𝒻𝒾𝓇 remained bitter and alone as she tried to take her daughter back, but the young adolescent had turned into a free-spirited artist, rendering ℰ𝓈𝒻𝒾𝓇's plans useless.

Betrayed by a daughter again, ℰ𝓈𝒻𝒾𝓇 has vowed revenge on her daughters and their pride. She was the mind behind finding Molek, a hybrid king hellbent on uniting hybrids, to cause some mayhem and distraction in the valley. With the attention on Molek, ℰ𝓈𝒻𝒾𝓇 killed the Starless, a hinge group of pride members who lived in the mountains. There, she found an entrance to a deep part of the valley. After making it through the trials, ℰ𝓈𝒻𝒾𝓇 has returned more powerful than ever. She launched a full-scale attack on the pride using the pride's primals. When they did not succeed, however, ℰ𝓈𝒻𝒾𝓇 retreated to find more power and another means of destroying the pride.

The arrival of a new queen irked the goddess, but she soon took note of this lioness' fur. A Blood Moon pelt had been screaming in her dreams for a whole season. The queen discovered that this new queen, Tesni, was a runaway from the Blood Moon Cult, a pride that worshipped a demon deity and offered sacrifices in exchange for power. ℰ𝓈𝒻𝒾𝓇 used this to her advantage, going into the dreams of the cult to learn more about them, the ritual, and the demon deity. ℰ𝓈𝒻𝒾𝓇 learned that the ritual could easily be copied to suit her own needs.

The goddess relayed the whereabouts of Tesni when it was time to enact her plan. As it brewed, ℰ𝓈𝒻𝒾𝓇 put together her own ritual and called upon her powers and the nytox in the valley. By using the deaths of the providence pride, she succeeded in bringing back her mate and the former tyrant king, Enkidu. Enkidu was consumed by more nytox in this demon ritual, leading to a haunting change in his appearance. ℰ𝓈𝒻𝒾𝓇 is now ready to destroy Ellil and take back the valley from the Leos.

Neither 𝒱𝒾𝑔𝒹𝒾𝓈 nor кєиѕнιи matched the sheer domination of the queen. Even though she was a lioness with no mutation, she was perhaps the most powerful out of all. Even now, one would think the chartreux lioness would look dwarfed with the massive primal god of justice and the armored war goddess on her flanks. But there was something... uncanny about her; an air of power and deadly promise surrounded the lioness. If one focused, perhaps one could think they hallucinated bright shimmering speckles around her. She wore simple delicate gold chains with black and white gemstones, but the rippling muscles underneath her rosette fur were undeniable, even with bristling fur.

"кσиєѕαиѕ. 𝕤𝕙𝕚𝕣𝕒." The queen greeted both with a curt greeting, white eyes like ice sheets in a blizzard. "It is by єикι∂υ's will that I do not slaughter you for treason where you stand. You will be granted one explanation for this..." The queen's lips pulled back into a tight snarl of disgust. "mingling with outsiders."

Both hosts dipped their heads and necks low in greeting to their queen, but it was кσиєѕαиѕ who replied. "It is for ℓυgαℓ that I hosted a feast for others on neutral terrain." Even when 𝒱𝒾𝑔𝒹𝒾𝓈 growled, the leonid goddess did not falter. "I am the goddess of knowledge, wisdom, and power. I know my power comes from ℓυgαℓ and his nytox. I know my power was born to benefit only ℓυgαℓ and his dreams. It is for that reason that I brought others to this feast. By feasting together peacefully, I have gained more knowledge to be useful to him."

"How will peaceful accords be useful for war?" 𝒱𝒾𝑔𝒹𝒾𝓈 scoffed.

"War cannot be won without allies nor can it end without the prospect of peace."

The queen of providence let out a low hiss to stop the goddess next to her from speaking again. "кσиєѕαиѕ. Do you say ℓυgαℓ needs allies?"

"For his dreams to come true."

The queen suddenly leapt into the river, water splashing around her in violently graceful arcs. "You dare try to talk to me about dreams? About his dreams?" The queen hissed a warning, fur bristling in fury at the challenge. The two behind her simply watched, eyes gleaming as they watched the lioness roar in a voice that could shake the heavens. "You have crossed a line, goddess," the queen growled, her tail whipping behind her. The blinking sparks around her grew brighter and more easily recognizable. There was no denying their existence now. "You shall be punished for your insubordination, as will the goddess who helped you." Neither host of the feast responded to the decision, only remaining quiet as the queen goddess roared. "You cannot fathom his dreams. You cannot fathom their beauty, their grace, their power. You cannot claim to be the goddess of knowledge and power for such arrogance. You will learn. All will learn the force of their nightmares." With a deadly spin, the lioness led the way back into providence land. Both the god of justice and the war goddess behind her. None looked back for all knew that the two hosts must follow.

The queen of providence stalked through the pride's camp, lips pulled back in the beginnings of a snarl. She had obeyed her king and let a daughter of Elio put the Sky Seekers to sleep. The queen herself took care of the rest, giving the seekers dreams that nearly rivaled the nightmares the providence king gave his enemies. What annoyed the queen came in two sets: 1) the fact that the traveler took more whispers than she bargained for and 2) the young male cub that had not been affected by the siren's powers.

Bristling, the queen weaved her way up the side of the valley's side, the mountainous terrain smoothed into a stone path from years of wear from paws and water. The closer the queen came to the cave near the highest point of the mountain, the more she felt the fear and despair coming from within it. She ignored them easily, entering the cave and silencing those inside immediately. A massive male primal heaved himself to his paws, walking over to the goddess with a respectful dip of his head. The primal's pink eyes did not waver as he gazed upon the small lioness before him, but there was a healthy level of fear in his dreams that the queen could sense, so she did not comment on it. "Welcome, EnEsfir. What can we do for you?"

The queen remembered how her mate reacted to the news of the male cub in the Valley of Stars. "There is a cub in a secret valley to the southwest of here. Fetch him and bring him to me. It is for the king's dream."

The primal blinked at the request but did not question it. He simply dipped his head at the queen and turned back to the group of lionesses he had been laying with. The queen payed no mind to how the guards of the phantoms spent their days so long as they guarded the lost lionesses well. The goddess was not a fool; she did not pretend that the group of lionesses were not held here against their will. But she did not find it much of a problem. Outsiders either became phantoms, lionesses kept secret in the high mountains surrounding the valley and were kept for whatever the king and queen needed them for. Or, they were whisked away by the Sky Seekers to remain hidden from the pride until they could safely move on from the valley. With the destruction of the Valley of Stars, outsiders only had one option left.

That male cub, however, had a different future.

[THE SCORNED QUEEN // FEBRUARY 2022]
Throughout her exile, the chartreux lioness had been planning her return to the pride. Her first plan had been ruined when the Amets Dynasty betrayed her, leaving her alone and in hiding while they remained cared for under the new ruler’s reign. Her second plan had come to her when a former pride member had tried to kill her. The new ruler, Ellil, had thrown them apart, saving her life much to the other lioness’ fury. With a few fermented marula fruits and a short time alone, the chartreux lioness put her plan into effect. Her first daughter had betrayed her; this daughter would not.

But then came Ellil, snatching away her daughter from her claws before she was ready. His influence turned her into a free-spirited useless little artist. The old lioness simply snarled in disgust at the fact that another daughter had betrayed her. It would be the last time she would allow such a thing to occur. Instead of focusing her efforts internally, the former queen of providence set her sights on using outside forces to enact her plans. An internal betrayal, like the one that had taken her mate and power, was still desirable, but the lioness was far too smart to rely heavily on such an occurrence.

She’d made her plans for that, but now she needed to complete the first stage in her ultimate revenge. The lioness slunk pass the rotting corpse of the former Starless member, a harsh laugh escaping her maw at the sight of such an unseeingly useless little thing. The dead piebald had been a forgotten traitor who came back only to die at her paws. It was a beautifully cruel and perfect twist of fate for the peaceful group of lions.

The lioness looked back once, her cold white eyes taking in the cavern. She could remember the last time she had been in this cavern. It had been ages ago, back when it was given a real purpose rather than a silly home for a silly group of pathetic guards. Her eyes flashed and her lips parted in a snarl at the memory. She had misjudged her mate’s dynasty, and it had brought on both of their destruction. Tail lashing, the former queen turned towards the back of the cave, heading further than the last remnants of any nests.

There. The former queen could see the small hole, taste the faint draft on her tongue. It was miniscule, barely distinguishable unless one had been searching for it their entire life. Unless one had been dreaming about it for their whole life. Without a backwards glance, the lioness leapt up, sinking her claws into the opening and pulling against the soft dirt. This deep in the mountains, the mountain was more clay than rock, allowing the lioness to not get as bloodied as one might think.

”Esfir.” The lioness stopped and dropped from her position, turning to face the newcomer with narrowed eyes. The other was a felis primal, a mix of brown and white fur thanks to their lycaon marking. The felis came closer, staring at the hole. It was now big enough for an adolescent to crawl through. ”I thought…”

”Patience, young Liron.” The former queen growled. ”You will have your revenge on who wronged you. I need power for us to do so, and this will lead me to it.”

The felis didn’t blink but glanced behind towards where the corpse remained untouched. ”You killed her.” There was a touch of accusation in his tone.

Esfir hissed, her tail lashing at the distraction from her plans. But she needed this felis for the next stage, so she turned to face him fully. ”I killed your mother because she was weak and in my way. But it is not her who wronged you, young Liron. It is those who brought her here in the first place; those who tempted her with sweet nothings to leave her young cub behind with a wretched pride of evildoers.”

Liron remained quiet for a moment before his eyes grew determined. He nodded his agreement. ”You are right, Esfir. My mother was but a puppet of the real villain.” He took a step back before continuing. ”You have relieved her of her life, and for that, I will offer you more than just my allegiance.”

The felis pushed past the former queen and continued her work on the hole, aware of the burning white gaze of the lioness near him. Once he had made the hole large enough for her, he backed away, ignoring the bloodied pawprints he made on the ground. ”Whatever you seek, you will find.” He nodded again before departing.

Esfir, the former queen of providence, merely snarled at his retreating form before disappearing inside the mountain. Wait for me. She commanded the valley. When I return, I will be your goddess once again.
