Nyx

- Nyx, they/them, heir to be ruler after Lorelei. -

Current state:

Nyx is a quiet lion that works alongside Lorelei. Because of that, their quietness is taken in more of a mysterious manner rather than a shy, antisocial one, which causes some of their pride mates to fear them. Nyx dislikes the idea of being feared, but due to the amount of ill talk about their current queen, they'd prefer feared over exploited, despite the fact Lorelei's very obviously exploiting them, but that's different because Lorelei's the queen and their her heir. definitely. of course.
Don't get them wrong! Lorelei is plenty nice to them and has genuinely taught them a lot of life skills, which will make taking over the leadership position FAR less stressful. But sometimes, when they enter her den unexpected, they can catch a glimpse of Lorelei's.... less favorable side, lets just say. As much as they aren't excited to have the weight of the whole pride on their shoulders, they can tell many of their pridemates are counting the days until they take over, which is uncomfortable, but Nyx doesn't blame them.


Relationships/opinions:
Lorelei - Mother/mentor figure; overall positive opinion, but they are careful what they say around her.
Void- Fellow sub-male; Nyx feels pity for him, but can't help but feel like this is his punishment, a ideal that might've been rotted by Lorelei.
Mara- Her and Lorelei are relatively close, but Mara mainly tolerates Lorelei so she can make sure Nyx is safe; Nyx appreciates the effort, but they are not a cub anymore. They do like having someone in the pride who will defend them however.
Abyss: Good friends; as the lion closest to their age, Nyx and Abyss are as close as Lorelei will let them be. Nyx loves hanging out with Abyss, but can't help but be aware of the ever looming power difference between the two.
