Snake was kicked out of his pride as soon as he opened his eyes. His father decided that a blind cub won't be useful and abandoned him, with no food, no water and no protection.
The poor cub almost died, but fortunately an elderly female cheetah found him. She had no cubs on her own, so she adopted the orphaned lion. Due to her age she had pretty weak eyesight herself, so she taught Snake how to hunt and fight without eyes.
Sadly she died as soon as Snake's mane started growing. He missed his adopted mother, but was also glad that she got to teach him everything she knew before passing away.
After a few months Snake found The Lake Land ruled by Anza at the time. He met one of the pride's huntresses, Clover. She was really nice to him, she showed him a hiding spot on her pride's territory that only she knew and allowed Snake to live there in secret.
She was visiting him everyday, and during those visits Clover was often talking about her pride's king, Anza. She complained about how lazy, unfair and useless he is. Snake felt really bad for his friend.
After a while of living in hiding, Snake finally met Anza.
To Snake's surprise, Anza turned out to be a really good king. He was nothing like the awful lion that Clover told him about! He welcomed Snake on his land like an old friend, not just some stranger that showed up out of nowhere.
When Anza let Snake join his pride, the young lion tried to talk with Clover, but it seemed like she was mad at him for some reason...
Snake ended up being loved by the whole pride. He was kind, charming and funny, yet still very humble and polite. Anza was even thinking about making Snake his heir...
The only lion that seemed to dislike Snake was Clover.
However time passed, and Clover finally forgave Snake for whatever he had done, and they became great friends! Over time their friendship even turned into something more...
When Snake was a full grown lion, Anza finally decided to talk with him about making him his heir. Snake was hesistant... He wasn't sure if he'll be a good king. Not only because of his blindness, but also because of his difficulty in making decisions, insecurities and submissiveness. Anza assured him that they will work on all this before Snake will become a king, but the young lion still wasn't sure. In the end, he agreed to be the heir, but he wanted Anza to promise that if he'll find a better male, he'll immediately replace Snake with him. Anza, certain that there is no better lion than Snake, agreed to this condition.

When Anza's first son was born, Snake quickly realized that something was wrong. Anza was an amazing father to all his daughters, but he ignored his son for some reason... Snake tried to ask Anza about it, but the king acted like he had no idea what he's talking about.
After that, Snake began watching Hawk. It was sad seeing how hurt the cub was everytime Anza ignored him... Snake kind of saw himself in Hawk. They were almost the same... Rejected by their fathers, insecure, lonely.
Anza was the one that helped Snake gain his confidence, so Hawk probably needed someone to do the same for him. Snake decided to be the one to help the young lion. He took Hawk under his wing, became his mentor, role model and even kind of an older brother.
When Hawk grew up and his time to leave came, Snake objected. He asked Anza to mentor his son. The king was hesistant, but Snake somehow managed to convince him to agree.
Since then Snake began training Hawk to replace him as Anza's heir.
Soon Hawk turned out to be quick to learn new things. With each day Snake saw more and more potential in him. He tried to tell Anza that, but the king refused to listen. He still believed that Snake was the best candidate for the next ruler.
Despite Anza's opinion, Snake's and Hawk's training continued.

When Anza got sick and it was sure that his end was near, he invited Snake to his cave. He said that his last order was for Snake to be his successor, the next king of The Lake Land.
Anza passed away two days later.
Though Snake had great respect for Anza, he could not agree to the king's order. He didn't tell anyone about what Anza had told him that night. As per his plan, Snake appointed Hawk as the new king of The Lake Land. He became his loyal advisor, and that's all. He absolutely refused to receive any higher title.

Unfortunately, it soon turned out to be a mistake. Yes, Hawk was doing great during his training, but now that he became a king he wasn't doing very well... He demanded the pride to respect and worship him, but he wasn't doing much for it. He was just laying around, expecting everyone to do everything for him. Snake decided to take care of it...
He began guiding Hawk's actions and decisions. He proposed reorganizing the pride, creating new rules and roles. Snake was pretty sure that the king wasn't even listening to him, but he seemed to trust his advisor enough to agree to all his ideas.
So in the end, despite Snake's best efforts, he ended up ruling the pride anyway. The only difference was that he had no profits from it and Hawk was collecting all the praise.
Snake was alright with it. He didn't need the pride's attention. He was just worried what will happen when he won't be able to guide Hawk anymore...

Snake soon realized that he was getting old. He had to amdit that his life's end kept getting closer and closer... Soon he will be gone, and there won't be anyone left to keep the pride safe from Hawk's irresponsibility and cruelty.
To prevent this from happening, Snake decided to team up with the queen ... Snake, as the closest lion to the royal pair, knew that their relationship wasn't going really well since Hawk became a king. Heather was even thinking about leaving her husband. Hawk, however, did not know this, so he still trusted her. Snake decided to take advantage of it.
He asked Heather to subtly guide the king, just like him. After all, she was considered to be the pride's ruler too. Heather agreed to Snake's proposition and started to learn how to influence Hawk from him.

As expected, Snake soon passed away. He died peacefully, in his sleep.
