Arifu

Arifu means ‘to tell’ or ‘to inform’.

Arifu is one of many young cubs that find their way to the Kalahari Pride. He was sent by his father as a gift to King Rego, after the king admired his potential during training. Rego welcomes the cub, and trains him into quite the formidable warrior.

As an adult, Arifu is strong and wicked fast. He makes friends easily, and to the dismay of many young lionesses, shows no interest in taking a mate. When he expresses a desire to explore beyond the territory, Rego sends him to the new king of the Hidden Valley Pride, Regandi. The two get along like a house on fire, and having a younger member on the royal guard is good for the whole pride.

Unfortunately, Arifu does not stay in the Hidden Valley Pride. When a possible apprentice shaman is presented to Pili, a spot on the guard must be freed up for him. Arifu gallantly yields his place to Thelthini, after all, he is the newest member, and has no family here, and the pride must have a healer to survive. King Regandi is very grateful, but will miss his friend. The two stay in contact.

Arifu returns to the Kalahari Pride, to take Thelathini’s place as a guard. The two young males essentially trade places, for the good of both prides. For his part, Arifu is very happy he got to live outside of the territory he grew up in, and make new friends. He had a lot of good experiences in the Hidden Valley Pride, but the Kalahari lands still feel like home.
