The Chaotic Kingdom's queen, Hjördis, gave birth to Haidar around the same time as the king's favorite concubine gave birth to a daughter. Haidar and the daughter were both chosen by the Chaotic King to participate in the Heir Wars at their birth. Since he was born, Haidar had been raised by his mother and allies in the pride to become king and take over from his father. Haidar proved to be smart, patient, and ruthless since he could open his eyes. He found more than an ally in a primal named Hildr, who had been at the top of her training just like him, as well as two more lions called Dag and Haakon. These lions became his closest confidants and friends. Haidar eventually promised to make Hildr his queen when he took the throne. Unlike his siblings, Haidar knew that fear was not enough to keep allies. He offered rewards of countless varieties, but more so, the future king inspired loyalty to his cause.
His cause was to ensure Chaos reigned supreme throughout the Vast Lands. Chaos, also considered Life or Nature, drove all lions on the path to eternal peace. He won the Heir Wars as an adolescent, swiftly killing not only his siblings but his father and the king's concubines as well. He became King Haidar of the Chaotic Kingdom and set forth his conquest, easily overtaking neighboring prides with his loyal and vicious legions of highly trained lions. He accepted Hildr as his queen, though both agreed they would never consider each other more than friends.
Around his sixth year, Haidar learned of a young broodmother named Gry. Broodmothers in the Chaotic Kingdom looked after cubs too young for warrior training, usually between three and six months old. They are meant to prepare the cubs for their training, but this new broodmother seemed to encourage them with kindness and a rare softness that was unheard of in the pride of war lions. Haidar visited this broodmother and found her beliefs about cub raising amusing. Her general softness was rare as well, so Haidar granted her a new position in the pride: Fifth Concubine, Gry the Rabbit. Haidar enjoyed his time with the lioness, and her beliefs only made the king and queen realize the importance of their traditions and ways. Haidar became more focused in his pursuit of keeping to Chaos.
It was not long until Gry informed the king of expecting cubs. Haidar had been adamant about being heirless until necessary, giving all of his concubines tackweed and cotton root bark whenever he visited them. While there had been a bad batch once which resulted in three concubines giving birth, Haidar did not consider them Heirs or true cubs of his and neither did the concubines. Haidar, however, found himself pleased by this turn of events, as he believed Gry would now realize her place by his side rather than focusing on changing how they train the pride's cubs for war. It was around this time that Haidar and Hildr believed they had grown their territory large enough to alter some ways of the kingdom. But before he could make it official, Gry ran away with their two daughters, Aurora and Iben, when they were barely a month old. Furious with her decision, Haidar vowed to find them and bring them back.
Haidar officially became Emperor Haidar and Hildr became Empress Hildr, each choosing to take on a real mate that would earn the title of King or Queen. Emperor Haidar, however, knew which lioness would have such an honor. It was through one of his spy guilds that he finally found his daughter Aurora when she was grown. Haidar soon had dreams featuring a silver lioness in dreams calling herself Esfir. Esfir promised to help him get into the valley where his lost queen was hiding, so long as he finally broke its ruler. Haidar used his spies and Esfir's dreams to find the valley. The emperor offered a peaceful transition of power and a promise to destroy Esfir and her revived mate Enkidu once and for all. In return, the valley would belong to the Chaotic Empire. Outnumbered and still grieving, Ellil agreed.
Haidar named his new palace grounds Chaos Valley, creating a fortress not only to counter Esfir and Enkidu, but to keep his long lost queen from escaping again.
