They call them "the Chained Maiden". A title bestowed upon them by the previous King (who was also their mother), for they reminded her of herself, but are far more different than her. They cannot tread the path of spirits, for they have mortal blood running through their veins. No one is certain why Andromeda was chosen by the late King Astraea. Some speculate that she was simply Astraea's first choice due to being the eldest of her still-alive offspring. Others say it was a mistake the Star Maiden made while her mind was blinded with positive emotions. Some point out the fact that Andromeda has shown incredible both magical and physical prowess worthy of a spirit. The problem is her unwillingness to use her abilities in any meaningful way. Andromeda herself doesn't pay much attention to what others say about her. She doesn't pay much attention to anyone at all, not even her lover, Cassiopeia. At least, not as frequently as it would be expected. On the surface, she is calm and often seen as lazy. She can be seen lying around all day in many different places in the territory. She is only ever available when there is something she must be present to do, while most of her Kingly duties are taken over by her Queen. However, she is doing far more than anyone sees, mostly because others can't see what she is up to. She'd love to tell them, at least tell Cassiopeia who she does love more than she can express. But deep down she knows she can't let anyone know, for their safety.
