Welcome to Maeves Pride

Amidst all the constant pressures of your pride, you decide to take a stroll down a valley you've never explored before quite a distance away from your territory. The sun had gone down long ago and the stars have made their presence known, swirling endlessly, shooting from place to place through the inky abyss.


As you thoughtlessly trot through unfamiliar territory strewn with bones and various odd marvels, you hear a snicker from atop a low, rocky gorge. However, no other animals are in view. As the mocking pitch echoes through the gorge you brace yourself, preparing yourself for the worst case scenario for a lion on their lonesome. Hyenas.


However, as you take up a battle stance, you hear a cooing, almost intoxicating voice from up above. "Hahahah... There's really no need for that hostility. Are you aware you have stumbled across my territory? I have seen none of you or your pride. You're obviously not from here." Their tone is clear and refined, assertively echoing throughout the bone riddled gorge.


You take a cautious step back, preparing for any sign of hostility towards you for your trespassing. "You're correct. I'm not from this area, my pride is settled one sun to the west from here. I come with no malicious intent. I am simply passing by." You state with equal confidence, trying your best to keep this conversation as friendly as possible.

You hear a few bushes rustle and a large thud in-front of you, the impact makes various bones in the area chitter menacingly. A stellar pied lioness adorned with armour-like bone and jewels makes her appearance, her various markings perfectly replicate tonights sky. "I'm aware. If you were hostile you would have attacked me by now." She stands tall as she says this, somehow un phased by the leap she performed. "My name is Maeve. My pride can accomodate you if you cannot get back to your own before sun rise." Her offer is enticing, but you're not sure if it would be a good idea to leave the broodmothers on their own for much longer... Even if it'd take until sunrise.

"Thanks for the offer, but-"
"But what?" You were quickly cut off by the lioness, she takes a step towards you and kicks a bone your way with a sly cackle. "Scared of the bones? They're not lion, I promise.." She senses your doubt, quickly trying to prove a point, she grabs a skull with her claws. presenting it to you. "All hyena actually."

"No, No.. Its not the bones.." You delicately grab the bone off the ground as if it is something to be treasured. Aware of the importance of the bones to this odd lioness.
"I can visit.. I suppose. Have you got a giveaway cave? I could pick up a few cubs before I go." You bargain, in actuality it WAS the bones. The whole act here is a bit creepy, even for you. Maybe you could give some of the cubs here a better life?
"Despite the seemingly dire conditions here, our nursery; ᴏʀɪᴏɴ ɴᴇʙᴜʟᴀ, giveaway cave; ᴀɴᴅʀᴏᴍᴇᴅᴀ ɢᴀʟᴀxʏ, and main cave; ɢᴏʟᴅᴇɴ ᴘɪʟʟᴀʀꜱ are all steadily maintained. It's truely an honor the previous king let me take this pride over. I was always his favourite, even if we weren't related by blood." She says as she strolls down the gorge, leading you towards the way out. You both wander together towards a small rocky mountain, with various caves of different sizes that reach deep into the mountains core. Theres no lionesses or cubs to be seen, maybe they're all inside? "The previous king? Who was he?" You inquire curiously.
"Hircine, God of the Hunt. And before him was Magicka. We are a long line of lions destined for the stars."
"I think i've heard that name once or twice." You say with a nod, then walk towards one of the densely decorated caves. "Is this one Andromeda Galaxy?"
"Yes. Lets go, be sure to read the signs I have up, please. Their very informative.." She says with a sigh. Most wreckless kings ignore the signage, it seems.
