Lore:

The Brashi tribe has been around since the dawn of time, seeing even the earliest ancestor of modern-day lions. The tribe had no communications outside of the jungle where their camp was, until now. Inside the jungle is a large clearing, hundred of thousands of tail-lengths wide. There's only a few trees, worn with age. Hanging from the tops of the trees are pods, similar to those of a pitcher plant.... and.... a network of bridges that the lions of The Brashi tribe live in. The lions of the jungle tribe have muted coats, and they are known to have stripes, similar to those of a tiger. All past Queens and Kings of The Brashi tribe have had green markings that make them blend into the foliage. A Brashi lion has incredibly sharp claws, sharper than that of a razor. Their coats are sleek and thin, and their joints have unreal flexibility for a lion. The eyes of a Brashi lion are calculating and sharp. In the clearing where The Brashi Tribe live, there's many small hills that seem to move every so often, as if the Earth is breathing., if one follows the small protrusions, it will lead to an ages old Temple. The Temple has vines from eons ago, and rocks that seem to have been crafted by the most skillful of paws. If one takes a step inside the temple, they are greeted by a rotting platform with a square-shaped hole in the middle. But, there is a 'barrier' of some sorts protecting one from falling. Looking into the hole, the stone statue of a Bush Viper stands tall, it's mouth agape in a wild hiss. On the walls there is one word inscribed hundreds of times.

' Iliyopita '

The Brashi tribe were first found when The Mountain Dwellers {Vance_ #262547} heard a yowl from The Jungle. At the time, Nittaewo was the current Queen, and had only been reigning for a couple of moons. Nittaewo is a sleek lioness with a vibrant, green coat and piercing eyes, though, she is very down-to-Earth and hyperactive. She has green, faux wings that are fixed to her shoulders, a gift from The Mountain Dwellers, and a single pearl on her forehead from The Desert Wanderers {FancyFork #427147}. At the time of their discovery, The Mountain Dwellers and The Desert Wanderers were currently preparing for a war, the causes unknown to The Brashi Tribe. Iliyopita is the tribe's snake, whose name means 'Last' though their name means Last, they are said to have been embedded in the ground of The Jungle since the dawn of time. The Brashi lions believe that Iliyopita was the creator of their ancestry and she has the power to preform beautiful and magnificent miracles for the Brashi lions. If a lioness is to have fertiltiy problems, a simple prayer or sacrifice to the Bush viper deity is destines to assist her in baring offspring.

Deities that The Brashi Tribe worship. (Also done by Vance_)

The Brashi Tribe worship many types of deities, and have separate ceremonies for each one. Most of the deites are either from Mesopotamiam, African, Ancient Egyptian, Celtic origins.

Alphyn.
An Alphyn has tufts of hair covering its body, and also has a thick mane and long thin tongue. Another notable characteristic is its knotted tail, reminiscent of Celtic design and similar to that of the griffin. Sometimes it is depicted as having an eagle's or dragon's talons on its forelegs, other times they are cloven, like a goat's. Occasionally all four feet are depicted as having the claws of a lion. An Alphyn weighs about 150 pounds and stands three feet high at the shoulder. They are carnivorous, preferring to catch small game such as rabbits and voles. The purposes of worshipping an Alphyn stay unknown to others, and many of the lions and lionesses within the tribe.

Hippocampus.
The hippocampus or hippocamp, also hippokampos, often called a sea-horse in English, is a mythological creature shared by Phoenician, Etruscan, Pictish, Roman and Greek mythology, though its name has a Greek origin. The hippocampus has typically been depicted as having the upper body of a horse with the lower body of a fish. The plural for Hippocampus is Hippocampi and they are found in both fresh water and saltwater. The Hippocampus for The Brashi Tribe are guardians of the water that flows in and around the jungle they live in. Hippocampi have also been spotted lurking in deep bodies of water, drowning any impure lions that pass.

Nergal.
Nergal was a Mesopotamian god of war, disease, and death. He was primarily associated with war, death, and disease, and has been described as the "god of inflicted death". He was widely represented the planet or Mars and his symbol was a lion-headed mace, sword, lion, bull. The Brashi Tribe worship Nergal in hopes that deceased lions will get into their version of Heave or Aaru.

Cernunnos.
In ancient Celtic deity. Cernunnos or Carnonos is a god depicted with antlers, seated cross-legged, and is associated with stags, horned serpents, dogs and bulls. He is usually shown holding or wearing a torc and sometimes holding a bag of coins (or grain) and a cornucopia. Cernunnos was the god of the wild, and controls most of the nature around the jungle. The Brashi Tribe worship Cernunnos in order for him to keep the order of nature in place.

The Chalkydri.
Chalkydri are mythical creatures mentioned in the apocryphal Second Book of Enoch from the 1st century CE, often seen as an angelic species. In the narrative, Chalkydri dwell near the Sun and ran its course around the Earth with it bringing heat and dew to the Earth. The Chalkydri and phoenixes are described as creatures with the head of a crocodile and the feet and tail like that of a lion, each having twelve wings, and are the color purple like the rainbow. At sunrise, all the Chalkydri break into song with their counterparts, alerting the birds of the world for a new day to rejoice. The Brashi Tribe worship The Chalkydri in order for them to keep the warm seasons warm, so the tribe can live another full rotation.

Simurgh.
The simurgh, also spelled simorgh, simorg, simurg, simoorg, simorq or simourv, is a benevolent, mythical bird in Persian mythology and literature. It is sometimes equated with other mythological birds such as the phoenix and the humā though it must be understood as a completely different mythological creature of its own. The Simurgh is depicted in Iranian art as a winged creature in the shape of a bird, gigantic enough to carry off an elephant or a whale. It appears as a peacock with the head of a dog and the claws of a lion – sometimes, however, also with a human face. The Simurgh is inherently benevolent and unambiguously female. Being part mammal, she suckles her young. The Simurgh has teeth. It has an enmity towards snakes, and its natural habitat is a place with plenty of water. Its feathers are said to be the colour of copper, and though it was originally described as being a dog-bird, later it was shown with either the head of a man or a dog. Simurgh's are also generous creature that can help purify the land and provide fertility.

Bennu.
Bennu is an ancient Egyptian deity linked with the Sun, creation, and rebirth. He may have been the original inspiration for the phoenix legends that developed in Greek mythology. According to Egyptian mythology, Bennu was a self-created being said to have played a role in the creation of the world. He was said to be the ba (personality component of the soul) of the sun deity Ra, and to have enabled the creative actions of Atum. The Heron deity was said to have flown over the waters of Nun that existed before creation, landing on a rock and issuing a call that determined the nature of creation. He was also a symbol of rebirth and, therefore, was associated with Osiris. The deity Bennu wears the Atef crown.

Khonsu.
Khonsu, also transliterated Chonsu, Khensu, Khons, Chons or Khonshu, is the ancient Egyptian god of the Moon. His name means 'traveler', and this may relate to the perceived nightly travel of the Moon across the sky. Along with Thoth, he marked the passage of time. Khonsu was instrumental in the creation of new life in all living creatures. He was also referred to by the titles Embracer, Pathfinder, Defender, and healer, and was thought to watch over those who travel at night. As the god of light in the night, Khonsu was invoked to protect against wild animals, and aid with healing. It was said that when Khonsu caused the crescent moon to shine, women conceived, cattle became fertile, and all nostrils and every throat was filled with fresh air. In art, Khonsu is typically depicted as a mummy with the symbol of childhood, a sidelock of hair, as well as the menat necklace with crook and flail.

Heqet.
Heqet, sometimes spelled Heket, is an Egyptian goddess of fertility, identified with Hathor, represented in the form of a frog. To the Egyptians, the frog was an ancient symbol of fertility, related to the annual flooding of the Nile. Heqet was originally the female counterpart of Khnum, or the wife of Khnum by whom she became the mother of Her-ur. It has been proposed that her name is the origin of the name of Hecate, the Greek goddess of witchcraft.

Isis.
Isis was a major goddess in ancient Egyptian religion whose worship spread throughout the Greco-Roman world. Isis was first mentioned in the Old Kingdom as one of the main characters of the Osiris myth, in which she resurrects her slain brother and husband, the divine king Osiris, and produces and protects his heir, Horus. She was believed to help the dead enter the afterlife as she had helped Osiris, and she was considered the divine mother of the pharaoh, who was likened to Horus. Her maternal aid was invoked in healing spells to benefit ordinary people. Originally, she played a limited role in royal rituals and temple rites, although she was more prominent in funerary practices and magical texts. She was usually portrayed in art as a human woman wearing a throne-like hieroglyph on her head.

Ninki Nanka.
A Ninki Nanka is a legendary creature in West African folklore. Descriptions of the creature vary, but most contend that the animal is reptilian and possibly dragon-like. According to tradition, the Ninki Nanka lives in the swamps of West Africa. The animal is said to be extremely large and very dangerous. It is said that when cubs get too confident and feel they can disobey their parents and go into the swamp they will be taken by the Ninki Nanka. This creature's tales were never recorded in any sort of non-modern text but the story of it has spread from tribe to tribe all over Africa.

Amokye.
In the religious traditions of the Akan people and the Ashanti people of Ghana, Amokye is the woman who guards the entrance to the other world, which is called 'Asamando' (the Land of the Dead). She is the woman who welcome the souls of dead women to the otherworld. According to the beliefs, Ashanti women were dressed for bury in amoasie (loincloths) and jewelry, which they gave to Amokye as payment for allowing them to Asamando.

Anansi.
Anansi or Ananse is an Akan folktale character associated with stories, wisdom, knowledge, and trickery, most commonly depicted as a spider, in Akan folklore.[1] Taking the role of a trickster, he is also one of the most important characters of West African, African American and West Indian folklore.

Asase Ya/Afua.
Asase Ya/Afua (or Asase Yaa, Asaase Yaa, Asaase Afua, Asaase Efua) is the Akan goddess of fertility, love, procreation, peace, truth and the dry and lush earth in Ghana and Ivory Coast. She is also Mother of the Dead known as Mother Earth or Aberewaa. Asase is the wife of Nyankapon, the male sky deity, and is the daughter of Nyame, the female aspect of the Nyankapon-Nyame-Odomakoma trinity, all of whom created the universe. Asase gave birth to two children, Bea and Tano. Bea is also named Bia. In some folklore tales, Asase is also the mother of Anansi, the trickster, and divine stepmother of the sacred high chiefs. Asase is very powerful, though no temples are dedicated to her, instead, she is worshipped in the agricultural fields of the Asante and other Akans. Asase is highly respected amongst Akans. Sacrifices are given to her for favour and blessings. Asase's favoured people are the Bono people. Planet Earth is Asase Yaa's symbol whilst Venus is Asase Afua's symbol.
