This pride is a male line inheritance pride.
Sons and grandsons of the king remain in the pride if they have the potential to be their heir.
The sub males of the pride are all potential heirs.
If a new subadult male ages up to adult and has greater potential than one of the existing sub males, he takes the older brother's place.
Once the king retires, the heir becomes king and the other heirs leave the pride, both adult and subadult.
Females who qualify to breed with the king will only breed with the king.
Females who do not can breed with outside males.
The Queen will always be an outside unrelated female. If the queen of the old king is not the mother or grandmother of the new king, she remains queen.

Cubs retained in the pride will have to meet the following standards. Standards will increase with each generation.

Due to the issue with the founder not matching with his old name, all prior offspring are going.
