so, I saw the new/updated rules today, and I have to say I'm disappointed. It seems that the people doing the right thing are being punished for the scammers misdeeds.

In my honest opinion, it will not help eradicate scamming, as they have obviously proved they don't give a toss about the rules. all it will do is limit what the honest, law abiding citizens of lioden can offer ;)

So, I'd like to make an alternate suggestion, in that players have a trade/promise "feedback" much like eBay.

HOW WOULD IT WORK?
well, I'm not sure what would be the easiest way to code it into the game, whether a rating system, a thumbs up/thumbs down, or a % of negative to positive feedback

*suggested by Drongo [Good] (#35082) * I think having a "paws up" or "paws down" option would be nice, plus sort of fitting into Lioden.

WHAT IF I DON'T WANT PEOPLE TO "REVIEW" ME?
simple. I think there should also be a "hide feedback" option on your page. but, if its hidden many people would believe its negative and it may effect your odds

WHATS THE POINT?
to allow options such as "unlimited breeding's", "cub from my next litter", "celestial garantee" etc etc that have all been banned in the recent rule update.

WHAT IF I LOSE MY MONEY?
honestly, your still taking a gamble on these types of things. place a negative review to the player, and hopefully help others stay out of the same sneaky sneaky trap

WHY ARE YOU ARGUING WITH THE MODS/ADMINS?
I am most definitely not. I am trying to provide an alternate solution to the blanket ban that has been placed. If no one supports it, so be it :)

WHAT IF A PERSON JUST REVIEWED ME BADLY BECAUSE THEY HATE ME?!
well, theres not much that can be done to stop that unfortunatly. however, to try and minimise the effect/chance of this, each player would only be allowed to "vote" once. maybe with the option of changing it later.

*Queen Halloween [BATS] (#23249) suggested*:
If you have a personal grudge against somebody and vote them down, yeah, it'd hurt them, sure. But there should be a 'total reviews' button. So the person is fantastic and everybody loves them except you, it'd be like 5% of 100% negativity. So if you were the first one, it'd show 100% negativity, but it'd also say 1 Negative votes out of 1.

Then, eventually. 1 Negative Votes // 100+

Along with GamingGal's and Ars' idea of having to had traded with them. Maybe to vote you'd also have to comment on it, saying why. It'd be like the modbox, I think. You could reply to the complaint, but also people could also view it. So, you'd have to come up with a legit reason why (if negative).

example? maybe?
dW4Hdfh.png

on the players den page?
AXHync0.png

also I think a popup message/link asking "do you want to message *player* why?" or something

asked by PlaguedRuby (#26260) Also, will there be some sort of limit to reviews or something similar? Because what if someone continuously writes bad reviews over and over and over to spite someone? Or what if they use their second account to continuously write good reviews about themselves?
I think it should be a one time option, with possibly the option to change (not add another)

*suggested by KimikoKyuuketsuki- LSA- CCS- (#32476) *
I think there should be a review page where it shows comments and reviews and you HAVE to comment with reviews. it would make it easier for someone to see if it was a bull crap review because they would not have reasons to support

feel free to offer suggestions, questions etc and I'll keep this updated

This suggestion has 40 supports and 0 NO supports.

I'm kind of on the fence with that one Ars Longa Vita Brevis...

I can see people taking the money and then blocking the "customer" so they dont get a bad review.
maybe they just get the option to give a 0/5 paws or whichever system is decided with no option to message etc?

While I'm not 100% certain, I believe there was an idea for this months ago that was rejected because of how easy it would be to manipulate the system.

No support from my end.
Say I was an evil troll who had a personal grudge against someone. I go to their den, give them 0/5 stars and suddenly people think they're a horrible trader! The person may know where the feedback comes from but oh well! I screw their game because now they're a 'bad' trader.

They opt out of the option? Sure, okay for the person whose been wrongy judged but now people are looking at their page wondering why they don't have public ratings. Did they scam someone? Do they never follow through? Rude? Slow? They just don't know.

Now say I'm a bad seller. I'm slow, rude, I take a week to reply, tell you I have the funds and bail right at the end. I turn my rating system off because people will complain. What even is the point of having a rating system then? Any 'bad' trader will just turn it off!

Now I understand a lot of people don't care what others think. But public image is key to selling cubs and items. If you're a well liked, confident, fair and nice member of the community with a lovely thread and well laid out products people are more likely to buy your things! Same with general image. Bad reviews = no trades = no way to progress on the game or earn money.

Also, I agree with the solution to the issue of multiple reviews.

Each time you finish a trade with someone, you get an option to rate them good or bad, or 1-5 paws or whatnot. Along with that option could come a chance for you to say why. This could either be available for public eye, or it could be a message sent only to the person the trade was conducted with so they could see what they might need to improve on.

I can't blame you for being on the fence, but I mean, what if ALOT of people attack you, and they all start with bad paws or what not, over nothing?

Maybe there should be implanted that you HAD to have traded something with the player within a time span, of say for example 2 weeks before hand?

This.

I think you HAVE to have traded with the person to be able to rate them. As I said before, the option would only come up AFTER you have finished the trade with them.

support from me.

Furry-paws has a similar system for people who sell art for USD and I think it's worked wonderfully.

I think you should be allowed to respond to a person's review, though, just to clarify things from your end. And I'm kind of confused about why people would decide to just gang up and attack someone? I've never come across that on this site, nor on any other site that has a system like this.

Added your ideas to the main post for easier viewing.

I agree to an extent Kraft, but I feel even a slightly flawed system would be better then the complete ban that is being enforced at the moment.

not sure how you could make it so you had to have traded with the "seller" before you could review, as this is mostly focused on eg cub sales (done through the forums), custom decor sponsoring, lifetime garentee etc etc rather then the trading centre that is a fairly upfront and simple thing, but I like the idea in theory

I am afraid I cannot support this, due to being able to bend the truth easily.

People can just ask their friends and use their other account to vote and write a good review for them.

Trolls and haters would go about and vote down or up people's profiles randomly without giving it a thought.

Enemies of people, or those they simply dont like would just vote them down and write bad reviews, warning people.

There is STILL no guarantee that the person with good reviews/votes can truly be trusted. Since a person can host giveaways, ask for donations and indeed give free breedings, then perhaps they will start into a greater project and ask for large amount of money, then simply scams them.

And the fact that people need to trade first, sadly will not stop trolls/haters/friends. Anyone can trade with anyone, and I doubt the system could put a difference between donations/sponsoring and regular trades. Which means, that anyone you have traded with in any way can write a review and vote.

thanks for explaining your reasons Axel, and I have to agree with most of them...

the way I see it, whichever "system" is put in place, many of the well meaning people will suffer, and the scammers will keep on scamming.

this is definitely not a fool proof system at all, but in my eyes a step up from the blanket ban that's been imposed. Trading things for lifetime studding etc will still be a risk, but I think its one that the players should be allowed to make for themselves, and I'm hoping this system (if implemented) would help make the right choice.

enemies of people/trolls/haters etc are going to keep doing their thing no matter what. there has been suggestions that the reviewer MUST leave a message, and allowing the person being reviewed (the reviewee?) the opportunity to reply and HOPEFULLY between the two get it sorted out/make it apparent who is telling the truth. Also the limit of one review per person, and maybe the option of removing these rights from people who randomly post negative reviews?

anyway, maybe that might clear up some of your concerns, and if not no hard feelings :)

I actually really really like this idea. I feel like this would help a lot in the issue of lost art, lost lions, and lost currency.

I, however, do not agree with the "one vote only" deal. For instance, some users on this site sell art and lions. Or for me, I have sold art, coding, and lions. If I were to review them for their lions, give a good feedback, but then return to buy art and get cheated, then I have to change a review but have both good and bad on it?

Also, if say a user is just in the lion market as of January of 2016, and you get a fabulous cub and review them well. But in July of 2016, the same user starts selling art and you get fabulous art. You would have to edit your old review, but that is not very productive because your review will be grouped with reviews from January where the user didn't even sell the same product.

The way to fix this, could be the TC. Ebay's feedback system works based on transaction. Each transaction = 1 vote. This would limit the feedback system to the TC, but I think a TC expansion is needed anyways. After each successful trade, there could be a box which displays "Give feedback?" "Paws up or Paws down" and after you click whatever, a box will show up like "Would you like to leave a written review?" These reviews would be viewable on the sellers profile.

I need more time to figure out how selling art/codes could be added in my little feedback system, lol, too tired!

What if only positive votes were able to be given?

No negative votes allowed.

If someone is a bad seller, no vote at all would be just as bad as a negative vote.

Also there could be a limit to how many votes can be given in a day. I use a forum where you can only give 10 in a day and only 1 per person per day. So if you give a vote to someone, you cannot give them a thumbs up again for the next 24 hours on any of their posts. (A mod can PM me about the forum, its actually an excellent system that is working really well) The forum has over 250,000 users and the system has been a great success.

There could also be, each month, a vote on what users have been the most helpful on the forums, and those users can get tags on their profile picture that would show they are helpful and considerate. Not a Mod tag or anything, but "Lioden Friend" kind of thing. This would be a community vote that at the end of the month, the person with the most nominations, would get the tag.

The same thing could be done for sellers. I use another forum where there is a thread just for sellers and buyers. Details cannot be given for the transaction, the only thing that can be said in the forum is "Good Dealings with so-and-so" or "Bad dealings with so-and-so" A search of the person's name would bring up the threads and you could see how many good and bad they have. Sadly, this could end up being abused if s a group of people turned on one person and posted several bad votes against them.

Paws up on what Echo said!

As for your suggestion, Mortuse, I think we still need to have the ability to have a Paws Down or something like it. We need to be able to know who is less than trustworthy. Even if your idea was implemented, everyone would have a positive rating and we'd be back to square one.
