This is completely in character. Please go HERE to sign up and chat about the thread and everything. A list of the store and descriptions of them will also be located here on the second post. The idea for this RP was inspired by the amazing books No Safety in Numbers and Monument 14. The name Quarantine is temporary, I'm open to suggestions. Please read everything, all is relevant and all is important. You went to the mall. That was a mistake. Maybe it was just to hang out with some friends, just to shop, or maybe just because you were bored. But whatever reason you came, it wasn't worth it. Because now, your life is in danger. This afternoon, at 12:34 pm, a bomb was found attached to an air duct. And unfortunately, it wasn't the type of bomb that explodes. It was so much worse than that. It pumped some kind of disease into the mall. Due to a mistake, rather than being evacuated, the mall was quarantined. Now the exposure time has been too long, and no one will be allowed to leave until someone is able to figure out what the disease is, and how to treat it. A government official (the governor) was in the mall before the quarantine and will be helping to get the situation to go by as smoothly as possible. We are starting at around 1:00 pm mall time, at the start of the quarantine, and your character does not really know anything yet about the disease or why the mall is even on lock down. A new edit will happen every time the governor makes an announcement. Which will happen at least once a day in mall time. The disease works according to blood type. With each blood type comes a different symptom. So choose carefully. It may affect people differently, but it is one disease. Be careful, because anyone who has it is highly contagious. Regardless of weather you are the same blood type or not, anyone can infect you. This original post will be edited as time goes on, because of the disease progressing. Just some new rules and edits, please keep up with them. Message me with questions or things that don't make sense, I will explain and/or correct whatever it is. Marco Marco was battling an NPC when the game crashed. What the heck? He tried to restart it but there was a message box blocking the screen. It read: Your computer is no longer connected to the internet. Please try again later. Ok, that wasn't right. It had been fine a few seconds before. Maybe it got cut off intentionally. It might have something to do with the "situation" in the parking garage. Whatever that meant. The Governor They had to cut off internet. There was no choice. She had no idea how long this was going to last. She had already spoken to a government official. That had to be the worst conversation of her life. She could remember everything all too well. "That wasn't protocol. You should have evacuated. But now, we can't risk anyone leaving. You will have to stay as long as it takes until we figure out what this thing is. And in that time, people could die. Because of your mistake." It was too much. Her family was in that godforsaken mall too, she would have never...if only she had known... 0 players like this post! Lynne stopped browsing the clothes, seemingly bored now "I thought malls were supposed to be fun." She said to her sister who shrugged her shoulders "Depends on whom you ask sis. At times it can be but not right now." Abbey said which made Lynne sigh annoyed "Well come on, let's leave here so we can see who else is all here." She watched her sister reluctantly nod her head before they left to find others, but so far as to where they were at, they was far away from everyone "I told you we should've went to that other clothes store." Abbey snapped at Lynne which Lynne said nothing to. Abbey grumbled under her breath as they continued on looking for anyone but she felt like they were on one opposite end and, if there was anyone here, they were on the way opposite end of the mall which drove her mad to no end. 0 players like this post! Rose had been playing on her ipod, to pass the time. She had been just about to finish downloading a game when suddenly the internet disconnected. Rose sighed, and looked at the people around the Gamestop. She was the youngest one there, and the shortest. It made her feel small. To her it felt a bit cold in the mall, but it was probably hard to keep warm. She crossed her arms to keep warm, and wondered when the lockdown would end. Charlie heard someone call out to then from across the food court. "Hey. What are you kids doing here?" He turned and saw two guys standing behind them, watching. He snickered and replied, "Free country. I can do what I very well want. Just cause some stupid announcement said stay in a store, I ain't doing it unless I want to." Drew nudged him annoyingly. "Maybe they're right." He whispered. "What if some killer is loose in the mall?" Charlie smiled. "That's why we aren't going to the parking garage, dimwit. We're safe in here as long as we get these guys off our backs." Drew had just about had it with Charlie. Sometimes he was tolerable, but other times there was something about him that you absolutely hated no matter what he did or what was going on. And today on top of that he was being really stupid. "This is serious, Charlie. Why did they tell us to stay in the store unless there was a chance that someone is in the mall? We should go back." He whispered. Charlie looked away from him off to the people behind them. "What are you names?" He asked. "We're going to the Pancake Palace, they got better food there." "What are you doing?" Drew hissed at him. Charlie rolled his eyes. "If they're with us they can't tell anyone. Plus, safety in numbers, anyone comes after us we can hope they're slower. I'm not as stupid as you think." He smiled. Ian watched the two boys, whaipering back and forth to each other. He simply looked at Takashi and gave him shoulders a shrug, indicating he wasn't sure what they were taking about. "What are your names?" one of them had asked. Ian, like his usual, talkative self, stood forward and took the lead in the conversation. "I'm Ian and that's-" "Takashi." He piped in, cutting of Ian. He wanted to say his own name and not let his friend do all the talking. Takashi didn't socialize with several other people often. When he as forced into the situation, he was rather quiet, trying to avoid most of it, or play along. "And if it's a killer you're worried about, I'd stay out of the open. Because if any kind on maniac like that gets in, you're going to be one of the first to have bullet in your head." He said. Takashi was known for delivering his thoughts and opinions and being straight forward and direct while he did so. It was one if his fault, when someone asked for an opinion, he gave them one, even if it was something they didn't want to hear. Ian almost looked a little impressed Takashi was actually talking instead of trying to slink off elsewhere. "He's right. Takashi's the smart, quiet type, so I'd trust his judgement. But one thing doesn't make sense, Taka. Why didn't they announce what exactly was going on?" he asked. Takashi rolled his eyes a little, annoyed by the fact his friend just had to ask stupid questions. "If they told your average person this, there would be total chaos erupting everywhere. People would be scared to know what is really happening out there. We don't even know, and I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing." he said, brushing few loose strands of hair out of his face. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Marco Marco moped around the GameStop after the internet was cut off, trying to figure out what to do. He worked at the Grill and Shake diner, which was why he was at the mall, but it didn't even open until 2 o'clock. He sighed. The real reason he was here early was because of them. They knew where his house was, and apparently someone had told Mike that Marco was the one who had scratched his car. So what? He had been walking his bike past it and dinged the paint, so small no one would notice unless you looked for it. How the heck anyone knew it was him he would never know. The jerk had taken out the bike yesterday. Rich kids like him didn't understand how long he had saved to get that bike. Years he had saved up, all lost to the tires of Mike's car. Screw him. Him and his sidekick, David or something. The whole football team while he was at it. Everyone was after Marco in this, everyone on the football team was hunting Marco just because Mike told them to. Screw them, screw this mall, screw the rules, screw everything. He trudged out of the store. The Governor She leaned up against the hood of the police car. It had become apparent the girl knew nothing about the bomb, and they let her go back into the mall. It was getting later, and it looked like at the very least they would be here all night. She was getting a headache from it all. The lockdown probably wouldn't last long, but if it did, they would be horribly equipped to handle it. With all of them they had 20 police, 40 mall cops, and 6 handguns. They were already making plans for the long term though, how they were going to deal with tonight and today. They had to remain in control. Keep everything in order. Or whatever they had pumped in the mall wouldn't be the only thing killing them, it might very well end up being each other. 0 players like this post! Rose began to get more and more worried. Mom hasn't come back yet! What do i do? What should i do? Mom always said when I'm lost, to wait for her. She began to pace back and forth. She noticed some people leaving the GameStop, and wondered if she should too. Maybe i should leave and look for mom. But what if something serious is wrong? What if there's a killer in the mall? Or maybe a dangerous animal got loose somehow! She began to get more and more panicked, walking past the Xbox games again and again. What about our dogs? Sadie gets scared when she's alone. And Buddy must be sad since we haven't seen them. Soon she took a few steps out of GameStop, and looked around, wondering if she should actually leave the place. 0 players like this post! Charlie stood facing the two guys, who had introduced themselves as Ian and Takashi. "Yeah well, I would think if someone broke into the mall that the food court is far enough from the entrance so that we would have some warning. You coming with us or not?" Drew was nervous. He always was around people he didn't know. "Hey Charlie, maybe we should just go by ourselves." He said quietly. "We don't even know them, why are you asking them to come anyway?" Charlie rolled his eyes. "Oh grow up, I'm bored, they're the only ones around here. Quit being such a loner." Drew still didn't like it, but if that was what Charlie wanted then oh well. (ok, we we keep posting without you I guess, not much is happening yet) Marco There was still an hour until Marco had to get to the Grill and Shake, and with no internet he was at a complete loss as to what he should do. He didn't want to go back into the store, but being out in the open alone gave him the creeps. People from other stores were looking at him, wondering if he was supposed to be out, or gesturing to him to get back in his store. He headed towards the IMAX, hoping for a free movie or something. He didn't know if it was open, but who cared. Somewhere to go, even if it was just to waste his time. He walked slowly to the escalator, taking his time but trying to look like he was supposed to be here. The Governor She was silent, trying to hear every word the police officers said. She couldn't miss anything, there was a very good chance this could last overnight, if it did they would have to handle a lot of problems. The police weren't talking to her, but she was trying hard to learn their names. She had to remain in charge. Someone had to, and she was qualified. If she left that among the police, then they could turn against each other. And then chaos would reign. She must remain in control. She must maintain order. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Rose walked back in the GameStop, then took another few steps out. Eventually she sighed, and walked out of the GameStop. She realized that she was hungry, and had enough to buy at least some food. She wondered what food to get, and if she would be kidnapped since her mother wasn't nearby, and if maybe she would be eaten by a lion that got loose. Oh well. 0 players like this post! Like? |
