In hopes to improve upon my art, I want to challenge myself to try and draw at least one thing starting today or tomorrow (2/20/15) Feel free to track my progress with me, or even make suggestions as to what you think I should do. These will probably only be sketches, as I'm not great at coloring and I don't feel comfortable trying to move into that just yet unless I'm feeling really optimistic. These sketches/drawings will be VERY inadequate. This is why I am doing this thread; to get more practice to get better! Constructive criticism is allowed, although honestly I probably know what I'm doing wrong. Please don't ask for more than one image at a time, and please try to give me diversity (as in: other than just lions, though those are welcome too) There is no real guarantee that I'll get to everybody but if you suggest something and it catches my eye then I will attempt it to the best of my ability <3 You are NOT allowed to use art that isn't made specifically for you! Here is a very poorly done sketch of Voodoo. Not even really a sketch, I used a brush that was too thick ._.  Notes - The wings are very inadequate - The body is a bit too long proportionally - Generally not that anatomically correct - Paws and neck are particularly a point I need to focus on - Need to work on proportions (like the back leg being too large for the body) - I didn't take the time to smooth out the sketch so it looks extremely rigid - This probably took me about 10 or 15 minutes(?) I'm also using a mouse unfortunately, I could try sketching it out on paper although it'd probably be about the same. Edit ~~ Fluffy Kitty Face (10 - 15 minutes?) Free to use  Notes - Sort of smoothened out the lines more on this one - Super floofy - Just realized I forgot whiskers but whatever - Super anime kawaii desu type eyes - Pretty cute if I say so myself Really ugly derpy lioness Free to use  Notes - I swear I was drawing this seriously when I first started - One ear is larger than the other - Extremely bulbous nose - Not very anatomically correct - Mean eyebrows - Really funny looking 0 players like this post! Subscribing to follow :) Maybe rather than picking out the bad points in your work you should find the good points instead and rather than looking for precision attempt to find your own style instead :) It's a lot harder to improve from bad points as it makes you feel bad about a sketch. Work from the good instead, the bad will fade themselves out. I personally think each of your sketches is adorable and has heaps of character :3 0 players like this post! Like? |

Well I think it's also good to know points you should work on instead of "ohmygod look at my special snowflake drawiiinggg, isn't is amazing guiseee?" but if you want I can start noting things I particularly like more about a piece cx 0 players like this post! Like? |

Your noting of flaws in your art saves others from critiquing. But it helps that you do know what you did wrong so you can work on it better. But don't blame the mouse ^^; Granted I don't do well in a quick drawing either. But it's not the mouse's fault. 0 players like this post! Like? |
