History ~ Draco Hydra was raised and kept in a laboratory from the time she was a small embryo, still encased inside the shell. While she was developing, the lab scientists tweaked her genetic coding, swapping parts of her DNA with that of other owl species. When she hatched and lifted her big, flecked eyes, the observing scientist was not only pleased to see that the cross-breed experiment was a complete success -he was also enamored. As the tiny chick grew, the scientist often volunteered to spend after-hours to ensure the owlet's survival and maturity growth. He taught Draco vital lessons, such as preening and even flying once her fluffy down was replaced by stiff, proper feathers. Draco Hydra seemed to have a sweet life of only performing small tasks ahead of her, since her precious care-taker protected her from the harsher aspects of laboratory life. But when she was barely a year old, that fragile dream was literally shattered when the world asundering earthquake stole the life of her scientist as he shielded her cage with his own body.

Draco Hydra managed to nest safely from the outside world in the laboratory, using broken pipes for water and the vast stores of test animal feed for food. Four months later, however, those 'vast' stores have grown uncomfortably empty for the tiny owl, and so now she is turning her big, flecked eyes towards the unknown.
