Red team 1 - 8 rating
I loved the story, it was quite cute and very well written. The art was very well done too, but I felt the details (such as the Tirdramon's eyes and facial features) were a little 'squished' in, and feel there could've been a little more tree details, such as more shading or something to add to the background and even out the busyness present in the OCs.

Red team 2 - 4 rating
Cute, very cute and chibi like, but it comes off as messy and sort of rushed. The last frame, for a moment I couldn't figure out what it said, because the 'c' in chew was squished in a bit. I feel there could have been some color added in, or some more background detail. No story present for me to rate, so I rated on what I saw.

Red team 3 - 5 rating
The two 'looks' of between the characters and the background throws me off. They've drawn the characters very correct and well, but it doesn't smoothly transition into the background. There could've been a lot more added to the foreground of the picture, it almost looks as though the characters are stuck under the trees, rather than in front. As for the story, it seemed short and a little spread out. Very focused on dialogue, and not so much on what was happening.

Blue team 1 - 8 rating
I love it. I really LOVE the style, the shading and light touches on the characters. The softness of the background is perfect with the style of the characters, because it makes them stick out, but not in any harsh ways. There's so much detail without being busy! No story to rate.

Blue team 2 - 2 rating
Honestly, the only think I found appealing was Denkimon's detail and the character shading. The background looks harsh and messy, and makes the characters stick out in an almost 'sore' and harsh way. The background looks messy and rushed, as does the story, which is all smushed into a quick tiny little paragraph, with little worded detail. It would've been fairly easy to add more detail to the story, I feel, or used more creative words, without making it overly busy.

Blue team 3 - 8 rating
I really liked this one! The area of the background, where the rock is at the OC's feet do throw me off a little, but aside from that the background blends fairly okay. The shading is lovely on this one, as is the detail through the characters and background. Not quite sure if what is below it could be counted as a story or not, so I didn't really include that within this rating!

Red Team 1: 9/10
This shows good control of colored pencils (I think?), and what's most creative about it is the composition. This perspective is very challenging, and they did a good job of placing the characters in the scene. The story gave a great introduction into the contest and the specific scene shown. I only don't like the question mark they placed in the artwork- it doesn't seem to fit in.

Red Team 2: 5/8
This is slightly confusing, specifically the first panel as it's not very clear what's happening. No story goes along with it. Not colored, but they did still take care to make the type and boxes neat. Reads more like a meme, but that's cute.

Red Team 3: 8/10
The coloring style really makes the characters stand out well, but the background seems very separated from the characters. The story line is specific, but doesn't exactly make sense (why is Blitzmon not trying to throw a paintball at the flying one, instead of just pouncing?)

Blue Team 1: 6/8
They incorporated actual paintball-style blocks to hide behind, which is interesting. They put a ton of characters in, too, which must have been a lot of work. But there's no story and the picture doesn't tell a clear story itself.

Blue Team 2: 7/10
The style is precise, and more cartoon-like. The story was funny, but wasn't very complete. The shading on the rocks is so harsh that it draws attention away from the characters. And, there's no movement.

Blue Team 3: 8/10
Great coordination of characters and background. The composition and perspective was interesting; I liked being behind the character. The story was short and just dialogue, but the picture told the story clearly, anyway.


Red Total: 22/28
Blue Total: 21/28

Very close, but Red wins in my book.

Red Team 1|8/10
I really liked their use of complementary colors and blending methods. On the subject of the story, I thought it was really cute and draws you into the picture. I feel like the artist of this piece put a lot of effort into it, and deserve the score I gave them.

Red Team 2|4/8
I really liked their layout, and humorous take on the prompt. My only complaints are that it's not colored and only half of them have backgrounds. It looks a bit rushed, but the linework is relatively smooth.

Red Team 3|6/10
I have to agree with Manete Aurum on this one. The transition between the subjects and their background is very rough. I just feel like the background takes away from the well drawn character. The story is okay. While there was an extreme amount of dialogue, it at least added some context to this piece.

Blue Team 1|6/8
While this one does lack a story, it makes up for it in overall smoothness. They stuck to one theme for the whole piece, and the colors really pop where they should. I feel like they put a lot of effort into this and it shows with how well their final product is.

Blue Team 2|3/10
As stated before, the background contrasts way to much with the characters and has an odd blur to it. The character's shading is incorrect on the blue and white character and would make one think there are multiple light sources. Honestly the only thing I liked was the gun and paint splatters, even though I suspect that the paint may have just been a brush.

Blue Team 3|10/10
This one is by far the best, and showcases a seamless transition between character and background. Even though the story only consists of dialogue, the picture itself has enough movement to make up for that. The shading is flawless and the background adds depth as it's supposed to.

Red Team 1 9/10 - I'm not much for traditional art, but it is cute and the anatomy is good. The story is well written as well.

Red Team 2- 6/ 10 Not much there, it is obviously rushed. But the text is fancy and well done.

Red Team 3 - 5/10 The grammar in the story is the reason for my score, and a bit on the art.


Blue Team 1 - 8/10 The art is done well, and it fits the theme pretty well. There is a lot of action in the picture. And the Digimon hiding behind the wall is a good effect. Not much for the story.

Blue Team 2 - 2/10 The story seems choppy to me. And the lighting is all over the place, plus the rock seems like something out of Pac Man or other pixel game when the rest of the art is different. And I agree about the paint splatters looking like a brush.

Blue Team 3- 9/10 - The best entry by far. The only thing that threw me was the emojis, otherwise it would have been a 10/10
