So, I've been struggling to draw for what seems like ages now. Somehow, I managed to create this drawing of expecting Lion parents. Now, I've never done an art auction before, but before I go any further, I need to know:

Would you guys be interested in participating in an auction for this piece?

It would be cleaner, of course, and the mane can be changed to more resemble your male. I'm still not so sure about adding decors, but I guess it would depend on how many/difficulty.

If there's enough interest, I will need tips and advice (starting bids/auto buys/duration/etc.) about running an auction since, as I said, I've never hosted one before. Any help and feedback are greatly appreciated!

*EDIT!
It would definitely be something that could go to auction :)

I'm not auctioning it off right now. I'm just asking if people would be interested in an auction (and if so, how I should go about it).

If you could change the lineart, I'd be interested. But you weren't looking for art tips ^^;

Most of my auctions failed, but I've done mine for at least a month. Or it ends when the piece is auto bought. Which never happened, so I ended up with a low winning bid.

Change it in what way, Motsumi? As I said in my first post, it would be cleaned up and the mane would be changed to match the winner's lion.

You should definitely do an auction. I currently don't have a lot of funds to work with because I'm saving funds for my project. But I'm totally interested ;3

I'd be interested .o. Since it's your first auction, I think the starting bid should be 1-3gb and then maybe the autobuy as 10-13gb? I know auctions tend to last at least a week but it depends on the amount of interest and how high the current bid is. It's a really nice piece! Cute concept .o.

Any ideas on the starting price, deadline, etc?

Oh, I didn't see your post, Lieutenant Stabby. Thank you for your input! It's incredibly helpful. I'll keep those figures in mind.

Oh gosh, that's such a beautiful piece of art~. <3

If I had the money, I would definitely participate! It should sell quite well since your drawing skills are extremely good and I asume you can colour it just as well. :)

As for tips. Here are my thoughts.

Starting Bid: Definitely GB. Or equivalent in SB. How much is up to you, whatever you value your time and skills.

Autobuy: ...damn high. 50 GB, maybe? Or higher. XD I'd suggest setting it high to avoid instant buyout, that way you can watch the bidding and get an idea of how well your art sells and what others would pay for it.

Bids: Set a minimum bid increase. To avoid unnecessary bids. (Example: Person A bids 5 GB, person B bids 5 GB + 50 SB.) Unlikely to happen, but it could and it annoys most serious bidders a little.

Duration: I'd suggest letting it run for about a week, that way you can have time to post in chat many times and get more people to take a look. If it's longer people might back out or loose interest (there are those who are way to impatient...).

Other: Show a colouring example of your other artworks, that catches more bidders. - If you end the auction and have the feeling a lot of people are online and still bidding POST a comment stating the end of auction. That can help you define the winner. :)

Wonderfully detailed advice, Incubus! Thank you so very much for it (and for the compliments too). I think I will create a colored example with my own lions as the subject. I hope that will help draw in interest.

Thanks again (everyone) for your feedback! I'll keep this up a little longer encase others have advice as-well.
