Now, Yes I do think it would be stupid for you to easily earn GB, Because it is what provides money to keep to site out. BUT, I feel you should be able to obtain it like... Trading in 1mil SB. possibly more, make it a very rare chance, but still possible to earn them, because with GB you basically have access to the entire game. Maybe make it 1 out of 100+ users every day can earn one from exploring. Know I know some of you disagree, but I'm just stating my opinion.

@Mars - You can already convert SB into GB via the Oasis (Gold Beetle Sales), no RNG luck needed.

Besides that, I'm awfully reluctant to support any alternative methods - the conversion feature is already a valuable source of GB, one that is relatively fast with regular hunting/selling. I'm worried that anything faster would alter the worth of GB exponentially, which, whilst not inherently bad, might prove problematic, at least in the short term as everything adjusts. Not to mention, it would discourage the purchase of GB.

I will say that, chances are, the economy won't be affected as severely as described above, but it's still worth some caution as it is still, nevertheless, possible.

I'd rather GB remained relatively difficult to earn - Lioden is a slow-paced game with goals that players strive to work towards, and the barrier of expense is one thing that makes these goals worthwhile and exciting; if everything was easy to obtain, there would be little to do in terms of long-term projects and goals, and the purchase of GB, and possibly the longevity of the site could plummet very easily.

Knowing the affect that drastic deflation and an overload of their respected currencies has had on other websites in the past, I'm wary of changing the methods of earning, and thus worth of a premium currency. With that being said, though, as previously stated the economy may just adjust in a way where items are still roughly worth the same as before, just at different rates (ie. 1000SB for 1GB could become 500SB for 1GB, but items being sold will jump up to a price that'll take approximately the same amount of time/effort to earn in the new economy).

I am, however, not a professional by any means, and I'm going off of what I have observed/general speculation, so, I could very well be way off.

Edit: I'm aware that this thread was created before the official conversion rate was made, but tried to look at this from today's perspective, should another method come into play in the future. ^^

You don't need real life money to gain GB in any way if you learn to play the game. No one should get free or easier GB. It's meant to be a "luxury." I also definitely see people exploiting the system you are suggesting. Maybe by making fake accounts.

The Oasis sell your GB for SB. So offering it in Monkey Business makes it redundant and cuts out the community feel. Here lays another problem, every values GB differently in SB. To my knowledge Lioden has never made or intend to set an official standard for what GB equals in SB. with this I imagine it'll mess up the value of GB again and screw the economy ever so slightly.

Also who gets to decide if they are newbie or not? Sure when you create an account. But I know I created an account and forgot about it for month before returning to the site. So technically I newbie with an older account.

Final statement, in order to gain GB you learn how to play the game or spend IRL money. So. Learn to play the game and the economy of the game.

It's relatively easy to purchase GB from other players just by playing the game. Hunting essentially gives you free SB once your lions are fed, and converting it to GB is already easily done in the Oasis. In addition, event currency and items are highly sought after for GB.

i respect you trying to make it easier for new comers but GB is a main profit for the developers, they need to have things
that you need to pay actual money to get, plus you can obtain Gb no problem at times

No support. If you work hard and grind, you can sell crunchies/Buffy’s/GoPs/barks/applicators and you’ll get GB out of that. Working hard is the key to success.
Tho I do appreciate that you’re trying to help the newbies! I remember when I started the game. I struggled so much.
But GB is something you should work for.
