I know, I know, the urge to think TL;DR is pretty strong sometimes. But still, I implore you to please read through the entire post before supporting/not supporting. Thanks for your time. :')

-----------------------------------------

I was thinking that maybe the person who created a topic could allow certain others to edit the topic themselves. (So, a co-owner, if you will.) This would especially be good for RPers; it would make it easier for the owner of the RP if their chosen helpers could update it for the owner instead of having everything pile up on them.

Of course, you wouldn't let just anyone edit it. Only if you found someone very trustworthy would you give them the right to be a co-owner. You wouldn't simply throw the power to the first person you see - you wouldn't have to make anyone a co-owner if you really don't want to. This entire suggestion revolves around being an option for convenience. If 'better safe than sorry' is something you live by, then you can avoid co-owners entirely if you so choose.

-----------------------------------------
A little shout-out to these two suggestions, both are worth checking out!

:: Good reasons for this suggestion to be implemented ::

RPs; Roleplays could be easier to manage if the original owner of the RP could allow their chosen helpers to update the RP for them. Updating census's especially can be tiring, so that work could go to their chosen co-owners.
(Wished for by many RPers, mostly owners, in a decent amount of RPs I've been in.)

Clans; There are Clan topics, and the admins of a Clan could help out the Clan's creator. This could also be good if the Clan's creator would prefer to use their side account more instead of their main that owns the Clan.
(First suggested by Dam, #7325)

Collaborations; There are many collaborations regarding raffles, art projects, etc, between different Lioden players. Allowing others to edit a topic could help them work as a team on their collaborations.
(First suggested by Skitty [A.a.N.P], #44229)

Game Guides; Game guides that are directly in LD's forums can be hard to keep updated. The creator of the guide could choose co-owners to help take the weight of maintaining the entire guide off their shoulders.
(First suggested by Scully [Skeleton War], #37042)

Design/HTML/etc Support; Not everyone knows how to use URLs or how to add on flashy designs, so being able to give a co-owner position to someone who's savvy with that kind of stuff would make it easier for the owner.
(First suggested by julia, #127710)

-----------------------------------------

:: How to keep it from being abused ::

With something like this, there are possibilities of problems to occur. People can add in things that aren't required, things like that. But it could be something like a log to show who posted what, that way the creator could keep track of what edits were made. That way, if there was any funny business with someone untrustworthy, their edits could be removed if required.

"For example: Say you have a role play thread, and you have an introductory paragraph. Then, someone that can edit your thread adds another paragraph onto that. You could have the option, similar to google drive, to 'accept' their 'suggestion/edit.' If you accept it, the tab where it says the person changed something goes away and it stays on the thread. If you deny the edit, it gets removed from the thread.

People who are viewing the thread can see the paragraph they added, even if you haven't accepted/denied. It's only if you deny it that is disappears."
(Log/Google Drive idea suggested by Venna, #15577, and Lia-Lin - {#DwarfSquad}, #36246, among others.)

-----------------------------------------
Remember, if you're a paranoid person, who says you would need to give anyone a co-owner position? You could completely ignore the feature, as I think of it as something that's optional, not required.

A big thank you to everyone who supported, and I greatly appreciate the input you all have put in on the subject!

If you don't support, please just tell me why. Constructive criticism is better than silent judgement. :P

Just a suggestion. :')

In my opinion, this is a great idea <3
I give my full support ^^

The only thing is, I would only allow those I know and trust very very well to edit. <3
