I've been meaning to make this suggestion for a while now but keep forgetting. It would be cool to have a corded mane, like the way the hair on puli and komondor dogs grows. Like this:  Only just on the neck of the lion, obviously. I'd make a mock-up but my drawing skills aren't up to par for it and I think the idea is straightforward enough to not need one. EDIT: Oh man, I forgot about this suggestion. I had been meaning to update it a bit. I got some (slightly) better pictures. I mean, they're still dogs, but at least the hair is closer to the right area.   Also, to address comments about realism. I don't know, a corded mane doesn't seem any less realistic than a lot of stuff on Lioden. It seems within the realm of possibility to me, considering things like piebald or black lions don't actually exist. (And that's not getting into the, "Well cinnabar and purple eyes," argument.) |

Full support! Our lions have crazy colors and every accessory imaginable, in what world is the interstellar base fine but dreads are too "unrealistic" lol. At this point, keeping a "realistic/natural" pride is a game play choice. I just really need corded manes :p  0 players like this post! Like? |

I'm totally up for a lion with dreads. Yeah, it isn't realistic, but we also have braids and body paint as decor. Braids also just aren't the same as dreadlocks. Might even try for a mockup based on the lion picture Black Rhinoceros posted. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Support, I think it would look really nice and I love pulis, plus there would open up a whole bunch of cool mane decorations :D I think as far as "realism" goes there's already plenty of mutations that would realistically be lethal/impossible for irl lions ie albinism (sunburns), folded ears (infections, chronic pain), dwarfism (like, come on), and so on, so that argument doesn't make all that much sense. Ones that are pretty high maintenance, I don't think a corded mane that stays on point is that far out in the realm of Lioden. Maybe find a better example images, lions aren’t canids. Maybe find a cats with corded hair, it might be bit hard to find but it’s probably there. 0 players like this post! Like? |

There's actually a video clip of a lion with some dreading in their mane, I included an image of them below including a bit outlining the locks because it's a bit difficult to see. I don't believe there's been any human interference, but they're fairly uniform looking even if it's not the whole mane, so I don't think something more exaggerated with clearly defined locks would be at all out of the question. // I also don't think it not be generally present in felines isn't a great basis to dismiss this suggestion considering how few any of the other appearances and/or mutations are based in other mammals, and have never been recorded in felines. EDIT: Although this lion looks like their's are more curled / twisted, so a lion's locks might be naturally curled in addition to being dreaded.  0 players like this post! smh people acting like dreads on a lion is the least plausible thing in Lioden. Theres so much stuff in Lioden so far from reality- neon colored lions with crazy markings, Lions with mutations that don't exist in real life, crazy decors, and so much more. Of course its not the most realistic thing but its def not out of the realm of Lioden. I support this so hard 0 players like this post! Like? |

I don't understand why there is so many no supports,I think it would be a pretty cool thing to have in game. As for the argument of it not being realistic- There are many tweaks out there already that defy realism in order for the game to be more fun even if they don't go full on fantasy (no third eyes as mutations yknow),I think a corded mane isn't that out of reach in the world of Lioden really,it will fit just right in with the primals and all the supernatural stuff. It could also possibly be a male specific mutation? We only really have maneless as anything male specific mutation,it won't hurt having more than one. 0 players like this post! Like? |

support! personaly I wouldn't use it, but support for those who do wanna see it. it would be really interasting addition to game. and for people crying it isn't realistic... like. as many said this game isn't realistic and neither it is meant? like yeah some stuff are based on realism but c'mon. also, idk how would this affect your gameplay? lions wearing shawls, tail wraps, bedlahs, paint, skulls of other animals etc in wild isn't realistic too, so what, ya still here. no need to use that part of game if you want to go for more realistic way (which is totally fine)  0 players like this post!
