Sign Up/OOC Thread Long ago, a lioness cried in anguish over the child she had lost to a rival male. Her mate, also slain by the rival, had failed to protect them from the danger. As was per custom for lions, the rival was to rule over the lioness' lands. However, she had other plans. During the battle for dominance, other lionesses had died in a vain attempt to protect their own cubs. The take over was sloppy and many of the deaths were needless. The former mother refused to obey her new overlord, rejecting him whenever he drew near her. Days went by and the new ruler was losing his grip on the pride he never truly held while the vengeful lioness whispered plans to her sisters. Under the cover of night, one by one, the lionesses slowly pulled away from the new ruler. In the morning, he'd find that his pride had left him. Making him a rogue once more. Life went on and many generations passed within the now wandering pride. The pride's faces changed and their landscapes changed as well, always moving into new territories whether they were welcomed or not. The only thing that stayed the same was the spirit their founder had given to them. From that lioness came forth more lionesses who refused to allow another lion rule over them, refusing the death that came with every take over. In this pride sisters protect brothers. Dutchess the youngest in the pride had woke to the smell of just killed..... zebra? She had never tasted any zebra before she only watched in a bush while the adults ate. But she heard they tasted good. So Dutchess got up from where she was napping and walked over to Renegade. Instead of eating when she got there she stop and waited for Renegade or what my aunt and the pride like to call her Rene. When Renegade notices her she just smiles and waves her tell to say hello. "Hello Renegade could I try some zebra?" While she talks she plays catch the tail... of course it her tell why would she attack someone that is bigger and stronger than her. Out of no where Dutchess stops her body is stiff as a board her ears are up towards the sky her hackles are rising with every wave of strong sent *sniff* *sniff* she growls. "I smell rouge. Renegade nodded curtly, eyes narrowing at the young lioness. "Yes, you can. It was very mature of you for asking permission, although you'll soon be old enough to handle more responsibility." She remarked. "Also, call me Sixer, please. I prefer it." She added, padding over to take a few bites out of the zebra before licking her chops. "There's a stream not very far from camp," She says. After the frightening situation Dutchess hopped for joy when Sixer said that she could take a few bites. And she was also excited because if she said ok to Sixer she could go for a quick dip in the water. "OK I would enjoy coming with you and the name Sixer fits you so much." Quickly taking those few mouth watering sensational bites of zebra. Walking back to Sixer felt like forever.... even though it was a few meters... to Dutchess but wanting to go the stream made her whole day better "Okay ready to go to the stream are you. Cause I know I am going swimming when we get there... lucky lions can't get sun tans or we would be as red as ants" 0 players like this post! "Mhm," She lead the way, ears pricked and mouth open. Padding over some rocks, she bent down to lap at the water's edge, enjoying the savoring feeling of the cool water. Dipping her muzzle in made her cool down, although the heat was still scorching. She waded in slowly, enjoying the cool water lap at her fur. Rene let the water wash away the crusty blood between her pads and felt grateful for that. Turning her head to look at Kibwe, she noticed the male, and a growl escaped her throat. Her ears pinned back, as she was prepared to pounce at the male, and chase him away from the lands. "Just what does he think he's doing, by walking up to the queen like that?" she said to herself, as she watched the lions' every move. "You're not one of the males in our pride." He'd let out a small, whimpering snarl as Juno took a pace forwards, raising a paw to slash Chui across the muzzle. "What do you want? Why are you here? Bushes rustled as Rene pushed her way through the dry grass. "He probably doesn't know any better." She says sharp, tail flicking, annoyed. She eyed the male carefully and with a snort, she padded beside Kibwe. Rene stared at the male before shifting her icy gaze towards Blu. She lowered her haunches and relaxed, awaiting Kibwe's orders. Her gaze settled on the male, eating patiently. Her claws shredded the grass beneath them out of plain boredom. //CHUI He'd let out a shaky whimper, sounding like a scared cub. "Uh.. my name is Chui. I'm no threat to any of you.." He snorted, sitting down to lick a paw. "If i was to, y'know, try to take over your pride.. surely i'd get torn to pieces by all of you. All look very strong." He'd seem pretty cool and nonthreatening, but something about the way he said 'take over your pride' could make some of them a bit hostile. Chui looked up, ears flattened as if he expected someone to jump on him at any second. //MASHA She'd pad forwards, ears twitching as her violet eyes rested on Chui. "He seems like a big kitten if anything." She sneered, claws unsheathed if he made any wrong movements. She'd observe that a lot of pride mates gathered around, and relaxed at this. Crowflight startled by the events unfolding jump up to see a strange male coming toward Kibwe. The male was being questioned by Juno and Millie. Noticing Rene's gentle but cautious look Crowflight walks towards the stranger. She put her tail on his back to tell him not to move or she would signal them to attack. She to ok several sniffs of his scent and thats when Crowflight gave a curious look to the sisters and bother she said. "He doesn't have a pride or a single lioness he's not even smell like this territory's marking. He's no threat to us. He can have the rest of the food I have to go out and hunt anyway. Blu smiled viciously, thinking of what they would do to him. Her smile dropped, as she heard Crowflight say that they would feed him. Sighing, with the lack of bloodshed, she sulked away, sitting down, and growling. Laying down, she examined the area, looking out for any possible threats to the pride. Feeling slightly tired, she laid her head down on her paws, her eyes closing, into a nightmare that she doesn't know how fearful it will be. Before the nightmare, she turned the other way, slightly facing the group surrounding Chui, breathing out a sigh, before going into a much deeper sleep, with horrors to come. 0 players like this post! It seemed as if she had just closed her eyes against the glare of the sun in the sky when much activity reached her ears. She blocked it out for a minute, before growling, and opening one amber eye. A male was a few steps away from Kibwe, the lead lioness, with several other lionesses surrounding him. Both of her eyes widened, and her yellowed teeth bared in a snarl. How had he gotten so close to the pride without her noticing? And it seemed another rogue male had passed nearby, and had keeled over in pain. She focused on the standing male, though. He seemed startled as if he hadn't noticed the pride of lionesses and some males. She bounded to her feet, toes spread and claws unsheathed. Should she help? It seemed as if they had this, but she was fiercely protective of her adopted pride. When it appeared they had control of the situation, she settled, ruffled fur smoothing down. Freindly, as any cub was and sent by Crowflight to show him where the food was at was Dutchess. She walked with the strange male whos names was Chui to the where the food was. "Hi I'm Dutchess, and that lion that let you eat from our food is my aunt, Crowflight. O and I better warn you about Blu she may seem fierce on the the outside but on the inside cuddly as a kitten." She says in a joking voice knowing she will be on Blu annoying side. So she starts talking about other pride members. "And the lioness taking a short nap in tree is our queen Kibwe. O and sorry we need to get you to the food. Follow me." Dutchess who only wants to be friends listens to herself rambles with only stopping to walk him to the food where she left him to eat in peace. "Dutchess," Rene growls carefully. "Leave him alone. I'm sure he's.. tired.. from his travels. Go back to your nest, I'll take it from here." Without room for protest, she nudged the cub away from the newcomer and stepped back. "You can have that hare." She growls, mentioning to the kill. Rene doesn't take her eyes off the male. 'Overgrown teeth. Why does that seem so.. familiar..?' Her thoughts scaring her, she pushed them away, mind wandering to other questions. 'Why is he here? Whats his plan? Where does he come from?
