Greetings,

Rather than create a new thread, I have opted to resurrect this one from 2016, with some revision.

Roleplaying has been a staple in my life for roughly twelve years, which is why it has been difficult to have been away from it. I am a student of English at a university, and therefore have obligations, but it is currently the summer months and therefore my free-time has greatly multiplied. However, as evidenced in this post, I am not looking to captain a fresh storyline of my own; I seek a group (or an interesting, dedicated solo individual) who are either beginning something new, or are looking for an additional member for something preexisting.

I favor literate and semi-literate, although less intense demands on material are sometimes appreciated. For the latter, a decent paragraph is minimum. We can work out what is fitting when it comes to available time of individual participants. I prefer a member base that is smaller scale; perhaps a maximum of around five separate people (excluding characters), to ensure familiarity, fluidity, and understanding between all associated.

Because of the number of years I have been doing this, I've grown into a crotchety elder roleplayer who has a specific way of doing things, from format to rules, especially if I head a plot. It seems as if there is a new platform, Discord, that has made an emergence since my hiatus. We can discuss location.

The genres that I generally lean toward, and hold my personal interest, are as follows...
- Human
- Humanoid
- Fantasy / High-Fantasy
- Science-Fiction
- Historical-Fiction
- Contemporary life / Present-day
- Disaster / Adventure / "Stranded"-themes
- Thriller / Mystery
- Supernatural
- Dystopian

And select fandoms (with original characters), that I am willing to enter at certain times...
- J.R.R. Tolkien
- Star Trek
- Harry Potter
- LOST
- The Hunger Games
- Percy Jackson
- The Maze Runner
- True Blood / the Sookie Stackhouse series
- The Vampire Chronicles (Anne Rice)
- Classic fairy tales
- Warrior Cats (on occasion)

As a note, I am located in the EST timezone, and will likely only have reliable stretches to dedicate in the evenings. That, along with other commitments and a job on the horizon, denote that any roleplays I begin should function on a patient, pressure-free pace (i.e. with acceptance of possible missed days, and without expectation of several posts a day (although they very well may happen)).

I am comfortable with all themes, but if they are mature, please be 18 years or older as I am such.

If you have any questions about past experience, potential plots, alternate genres/fandoms, or other interest/concern, please feel welcome to post here or contact this account privately.

My best,
- Artex
