There are two types of Diabetes Mellitus; Type 1 and Type 2.

Type 1 is where the victim's pancreas cells get attacked by the body, because the body thinks it's a virus. The pancreas is where insulin is produced. Insulin is the liquid in the body that breaks down sugars; if insulin isn't in the body, sugar levels can rise. This is known as "hyperglycemia".
Type 1 and 2 can be found in animals, and without proper treatment, these animals can die quickly.

Diabetes isn't a birth mutation. You rather get it when you are older.
Type 1 is known as "juvenile diabetes"; Type 2 is known as "adult onset diabetes"

Juveniles are more known to get type 1(however adults can get it too) while type 2 can be obtained at any age due to not enough insulin being produced.

I was thinking if diabetes mellitus was put into the game, type 1 would be more centered around adolescent lions.
The warning would come before the cub turns 1 year old. I'm not sure if there is a herb that is like insulin, so no cure could be obtained.

SYMPTOMS OF TYPE 1(in game)
- The cub would get noticeably skinnier and skinnier each day that goes on.
- The cub's hunger wouldn't go up as much when fed.

SYMPTOMS OF TYPE 1(in real life)
- Excessive hunger and thirst
- Blurry vision
- Frequent bedwetting
- Weight loss
- Sleepiness
- Nausea/vomiting

Notes
Please understand I am a type 1 diabetic. I know about the disease, however I could be wrong at some points. If you know about it and I missed something, please don't hesitate to tell me
Anything you would like me to add, ask.

No offence, but I am honestly not seeing the point of adding this to the game. If this is lethal unless there is new art for it, with no cure it would just mean potential great cubs are made rubbish.
If not, then I still don't see why this is needed. It doesn't really add much to gameplay and doesn't bring any benefits to it. If there was a benefit associated with this, then maybe I could understand it being implemented into the game, but as is, I just can't.

Sorry but no support. Diabetes mellitus is a disease, not a mutation.

Additionally, there are differences between diabetes in cats and diabetes in humans. First, the terms "juvenile onset" and "adult onset" are generally not applicable. Instead, type 1 and type 2 diabetes are defined by the mechanism through which they cause disease -- in general, and briefly, either through lack of insulin production or a decrease in the body's ability to use insulin.

So, insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM) and noninsulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (NIDDM) are more appropriate terms for type 1 and type 2 diabetes, respectively. It's also important to note that the types aren't mutually exclusive in cats; they can transition between them in various ways for various reasons.

Finally, and perhaps most importantly in regards to this suggestion: Diabetes rarely affects young cats. The mean age at diagnosis is 10 years, regardless of type.

Here are a few sources if you'd like more cat-specific info: 1, 2, 3, 4

Support.

I would rather this be non-lethal, because it may offend/upset someone if they got a cub that they can relate to and they die at a very young age.

I also like this idea -- though much research might be needed

No support. Like already stated before, Diabetes is a disease not a mutation.

Don't get me wrong but isn't Type 1 Diabetes mostly genetic and mostly present from birth or early childhood?

Ooh!! We could like have an item that if used every rollover on the diabetic adol, could keep them alive to adulthood! ( or even we could use this item even after adulthood! )

I don't think that diabetes would count as a mutation, but if it was considered in-game... how would the lions figure it out? Many features in game are not realistic, however everything surrounding mutations is. The symptoms listed (Excessive hunger and thirst, Blurry vision, Frequent bedwetting, Weight loss, Sleepiness, Nausea/vomiting) could match many diagnoses. Ticks, tapeworms, infection, eating rotten food or drinking bad water, etc. Plus, it sounds very similar to Wolvden's whole illness part of the game, which i pray would never be added here. No support, sorry!

Maybe the eagle could see this mutation and it'd be the first lethal amp?

No support for many of the same reasons already listed. Also Readytest, the Eagle doesn't have unique flavour text for AMPs already present in the game. Why should this one be any different?

Because, it is a lethal mutation, whilst also being a amp. People may get upset when their Amp cub just ends up being a diabetes adol and dies before they become an adult when they expected they'd become something like a double uterus if they're a lioness, maned lioness, maneless lion, or overgrown teeth/claws.

The Eagle having different text flavor makes it so that the player already **knows** that the cub has a lethal mut, and doesn't expect it to be a different mut ( they'll know right away to safou fruit/immortalize the cub to keep them alive.
