It didn't take a genuine to notice the slight changes in Alec's posture when she mentioned her mother wanting to see them. He had tensed slightly, and his posture had stiffened. "No not today," Jo states. "I wouldn't have let her even if she had tried. We defiantly aren't ready yet." Then she sagged her shoulders, as she let out a sigh and ran a hand through her hair. "This weekend though," Jo tells Alec. "That's when she wants to see everything. You. The house. The ring. And she also wants to hear it. The engagement story." Jo was just now realizing how hard this really was going to be. Jo let her thumb and forefinger rub her temple for a second, as she scrunched up her nose and the tried to think. They couldn't simply just jump into the battle without a strategy. "We need to get that stuff this weekend," Jo states before standing up and beginning to pave the the room back and forth. Then she turned thrns to look at Alec. "I'll go with you on your trip," she tells him. "And when's you're not working, we can prepare and be ready for Monday! Perfect!" 0 players like this post! "Tomorrow," Jo answered immediately. She had more than one reason to deny his requests though it was mostly because she wanted to avoid awkward as much as she could. But she wouldn't tell him that. Not when it seemed as though Alec couldn't even have an awkward moment. Jo turned to look at him. "I would need time to pack," she states before looking into his ice blue gaze. "And think." Jo needed time to herself to think about everything that had happened and was happening, and she couldn't do that, knowing that Alec was in the house with her. Everything was changing so fast, Jo could hardly believe it. It was nothing like she had planned as a child. She had always thought she'd be a famous author who owned a coffee shop and lived in a nice home. She would have a husband and a nice family. But she had only the coffee shop thing. Everything else was different. Jo got up and walked towards the door before looking at Alec, giving him a hint. "I'm going to think about renting this place," she states. "What time should I wake?" 0 players like this post! Like? |

Alec watched as Jo thought about something, but he didn't press her to know what it was. He knew it was probably something related to the whole situation and that she wouldn't want him to know what she was thinking. Alex respected that and just smiled in return to her statements. That was, until Jo got up and opened the door for Alec to leave. A crooked grin crossed his face as he walked towards the door, his hands in his jeans pockets. "You should, it's a good business investment." he told her, trying to convince her to do it. She had a few days to think about it, but it wasn't as much time as these decisions needed. Stepping through the door he turned to look at Josephine one last time. "Plane leaves tomorrow at 6 so I will pick you up at 4 the latest." he said before turning around and heading down the stairs. When he reached his car that was parked on the street, he glanced up to the window that he had been staring through while in her apartment. Getting into his car, Alex drove away speedily towards his own place. It took about half an hour to reach his flat, all the while singing along to the radio and drumming his fingers against the steering wheel. It wasn't until he was sitting in his bed with Game of Thrones playing did he actually think about what had happened. He was going to marry Josephine Styles. For his own benefit and hers. The thought made him smile softly, knowing he was doing a good deed. He had never been interested in the whole marrying thing, so this business arrangement seemed to be the right fit for him. Not only were there no strings attached, but it was a business agreement, and Alec lived and breathed business. Ooc: should we skip to the morning? 0 players like this post! Like? |

The next day, Jo woke up to her alarm which had sounded at seven in the morning like it always did. As she went down to her kitchen to Make some coffee and a small breakfast for herself, she began to make a mini checklist of everything she would be doing today. Though her coffee shop closed at six, Jo would be leaving at one. This wasn't because of the flight she had to prepare for though she did need to do that as well. It was because Caitlyn wanted to eat out with her at two. And once they were done, Jo needed to freshen up beforehand packing her bags for the trips. She still had yet to know what she would be packing, but she knew She would figure it out by then time that she actually needed to actually . The busiest hours tor Jo was always the morning because that's when people needed the coffee the most. And then she went to Jana's. It was a small diner that had just opened about a year ago, and after Caitlyn had found it by accident, it had been hers and Caitlyn's spot. Caitlyn had only wanted to talk about the marriage, asking if she could be Thebes's wedding planner. Jo had tried to remind her it was all fake and arranged but ended up giving up and allowing Caitlyn to have the job. When she left the diner, Jo went home before she checked the time, finding it was almost three. She changed into a t shirt with tights and brushed her hair before packing her bag. She put clothes for each season . Winter. Summer. Spring. And Fall. She was prepared for it all. Once Jo finished, she took her two suitcases downstairs before waiting on her ride. 0 players like this post! Like? |

When his alarm clock struck six in the morning, Alec shot straight up in his bed. For a moment he thought that he overslept, that he had missed his flight to Barcelona. But when he looked at the clock, he saw that he still had many hours. Letting out a sigh of relief, he pushed aside the covers and began his normal morning ritual. Grabbing the remote he turned on the tv and switched to his morning channel, HBO. As per usual, Game of Thrones was playing. With a yawn, he leaned back against the back of his bed and watched scenes flash before his eyes. He had seen every episode at least five times, but the show was too good for him not to watch them again. After the episode was over, he pushed aside the covers once more and walked into the kitchen where he made himself a cup of black coffee. After drinking the coffee he went into his study where he set to work on his daily emails. Most of them were spam, but some had to do with his upcoming meetings that he would be attending in Barcelona. When he answered all of the emails, he went into his gym room and went through his paces. After he finished that he went and got some food. Once his stomach was full he went back home and packed his stuff. Getting into his car he drove towards Jo's house. When he got there he saw her waiting at the corner. Parking the car, he stepped out and walked towards her, shooting her a smile before grabbing her suitcases and stuffing them into his car. "Ready to go?" he asked her as he turned towards her again. 0 players like this post! Like? |

"As ready as I'll ever be," Jo answered not in the least bit surprised to see the type of car that Alec had. A black Lexus that practically screamed how expensive it was. She rolled her eyes as he took her suitcases from her like the 'perfect gentleman'. Then she got into the car, slamming the door behind her. The interior of the car was far nicer than she would have thought, but than again she should have known. Alec was a billionaire after all. Everything was leather not to mention the high glare stereo he had for his radio. And his seats were quite comfortable with cooling and heating in them. His car was about ten times better than the faded red Chevrolet truck she had gotten from her father though she knew her truck meant more. But she had to admit that she was a bit envious of his perfect car. Oh, the life of a millionaire. Jo turned to look at Alec. He really was a handsome man with his pale blue eyes and hooked nose not to mention his dark brown hair and sculpted jaw. Jo shook her head. "What, no personal driver?" She asks sarcastically. Jo didn't do a lot of traveling, not now nor when she was a little kid. It wasn't her thing especially since she had just gotten over her fear of airplanes a little while ago, over two years. Still, Jo didn't like airplanes. They were too closed in and there were always high chances of something going wrong with them. She just didn't like taking the risk and often drove everywhere, but Jo could already tell that Alec didn't do the same. Why would he? Especially since he had all the money in the world and could just get a private jet? Jo looked over at Alec seriously. "So is there anything i need to goto while we're here or do you have everything under control cause if you have any dinners and you want to, I think it would be a good time to let your colleagues know that you are engaged so it's not surprising when we get married," Jo suggests. 0 players like this post! Alec could tell that Jo was annoyed with his gesture to put her suitcases into his car. But, for exactly that reason, he did not offer to open the car door for her. It was something she would have hated. Another thing he could sense was her awe of his car, a car that he did not necessarily want. He had wanted another model, but this was the only one they had. So, he had settled. But he had to admit, he loved his car. Getting into the drivers side, he turned on the engine and raced towards the airport, though never really passing he speed limit. When Jo commented about him not having a driver, a small smile crossed over his face. "Why would I? I drive much faster and better than them anyway." he responded. His meetings in Barcelona did not call for much opportunity to introduce Josephine to his colleagues. Though, they would sure notice a girl with him and ask questions. Alec knew that he would avoid these questions, but would eventually answer them. It wasn't every day that Alec brought someone along with him, in fact, it had only happened once before. That relationship had not ended so good. Alec hoped that Jo liked the beach, because there wouldn't be much time for anything else. "There may be a few dinners, but it varies. Sometimes they throw a party if the trio went well and sometimes they don't do anything. We will see. I will have to introduce you to people, though we need to get a ring in order for it to be believable." Alec finally said. He glanced over at Jo after he spoke. They were close to the airport now, only a few more minutes and then they'd be there. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Jo could see the airport coming into view, as she listened to Alec talk to her. She nodded her head, knowing that everything he was stating matched up. Especially the part about them needing to get a ring for her. How would anything really be believable if she didn't have a big diamond on her ring to show for it? "And when will we be getting?" She asks, her voice quiet, as Alec began to find a parking spot. Once he does, Jo opens the door for herself and shuts it before she looks at the sky, something she had always enjoyed doing. It wasn't the same as it had been an hour ago. An hour ago, it had been alight with colors, blazing from a soft pink to a bright yellow with the sun just barely peeking over the horizon, but not the sky was a soft, full blue with a few, whisky clouds floating around to fill up the space. The sun was higher in the sky now thought not all the way at its apex. Jo got her own bags before Alec could. Afterwards they went through flight security before they finally boarded the plane, Jo quickly giving Alec the window seat, knowing that even though a piece of her wanted to see the sights that ultimately being able to see how far up she was would scare her. They were in very comfortable seats when Jo realized that there were only about five others on the plane and she waited for a while wondering if anyone else would hop on but none did. She looked at Alec. "First class?" It's like she doesn't even need to ask the question because she knows what the answer will be. Of course because he had the money to spare. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Alec rolled his eyes slightly when he stepped out of the car and Jo had done everything. It wasn't the fact that he hadn't been able to be the perfect gentleman, but the fact that she was going out of her way so that he couldn't be sweet. But, without saying anything, he grabbed his bags and followed her through all the motions of the airport. At each station, Jo made it obvious that she wanted nothing from him. For the entire time, Alec and Jo never exchanged a word, that was until they had come to their terminal and where waiting to board the plane. Finally he said, "There's a nice place in Barcelona I know on the way to the hotel. You can choose whatever you want." He remembered walking by and driving by the store, hundreds of rings on display. It had always been a dream of his to go into it one day and buy a ring for the right girl, but in this case it was neither the right girl nor would he be the one choosing the ring. "The finest ring maker in Spain." Alec added, although he knew that it would probably sound pretentious to her. It wasn't his fault though, that he was able to afford all the expensive things, but he knew that she would blame him for his richness anyway. Once they were seated in their seats, Alec sitting by the window, he took out his laptop. The airplanes now-a-days allowed for people to use their electronics, and even provided wifi. When Josephine spoke to him, Alec looked up from the emails that he had been checking. A crooked smile crossed his face and he shrugged nonchalantly, "I guess I can afford it." he said with a soft chuckle. He knew that he must be irritating to her, but to himself he was funny. At least, a little bit. Returning his gaze to his laptop he typed a little bit more before closing the screen. "Do you want a book to read? Sometimes they have some nice selections. Or else you have to watch some movies before going to sleep." he said, half turning his body towards her. 0 players like this post! Like? |
