No, there has been no changes to the females itself. When average impressive, you can find chased ladies and when Dreamboat you can also find CRB'd females.

With good and kind lionesses I use : Manly roar, Puff out chest, Shake mane, Rub head

With snarky and evil lionesses I use : Manly roar, Puff out chest / Snarl (snarky) , Shake mane, Bite neck

There are some guides in forums about claiming but didn't find them to this.
Your king's personality matters a little (eg. kind king gets bonus when claiming kind lioness) and your impressions helps a lot. When Dreamboat or close to it claiming is very easy :)

Here's the News post which explains everything in greater detail but as a quick run down:
-Markings aren't restricted to the first three slots anymore
-Lions who are "Impressive" or higher can find in-heat NCLs (better chances with higher impression)
-"Impressive" or higher lions can find NCLs with their respective personality pose already applied
-Only "Average" or higher lions can find chased NCLs
-Only "Impressive" or higher can find NCL exclusive markings (event markings can be found on any impression)
-NCL stats get higher with higher impression levels (and older lionesses will have higher stats than younger ones)
-Dreamboats can occasionally find CRBed NCLs
