So, what if there were hermaphroditic lions? A nonlethal mutation, pretty rare, with it's own lineart that was infertile. Possibly could hunt/be a submale? |

What would it look like? Can it be kinged? What would be the point of hunting it, if it can't be bred? How would the decor work on it if it's both male and female? 0 players like this post! Like? |

I think if this was implemented you'd have to let it be breed able but it can only breed one way so like you could king it but then it can only mate with females or you can keep it to breeding with male and only breed exclusively with males but if the mods make it so it can be a king and breed with other kings that would be a nice little feature and possibly it would have its own like special poses that would be enacted after its been breed like a male pose and then a female pose based on what gender the first lion it was bred to. 0 players like this post! No support. This is where the Lab Test Frog comes in. Sure, the lion isn't exactly the opposite sex, but hermaphrodites in mammals is highly unrealistic. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Would the lion look more masculine or feminine? Cause I would think it would be cool if the male looked more feminine than masculine. Also I've a question, since it's both sexes, does that mean it can breed with itself? Cause I don't get why they have to be infertile if they've both necessary organs to reproduce. 0 players like this post! Like? |

i support if its done right! perhaps really low fert, similar to a female other than it can also patrol. maybe less heats in its life time or increased chance of miscarriages or stillborn cubs? probably not able to king unless you could pick which of the two organs functions. i dunno this could be weird but interesting. 0 players like this post! First off, you're thinking of intersexed, not hermaphroditic. Hermaphrodite is an offensive term to use when referring to an intersex person. They are not the same thing at all. (In fact, mammals cannot be hermaphrodites) Second, intersex is a broad category, not a single thing. It includes conditions such as Kleinfelter's Syndrome (XXY) and Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome (XY, but the body doesn't react to testosterone). 0 players like this post! Like? I am a vet tech irl and we actually see hermaphroditic cats occasionally. I've only ever heard intersex when referring to people, and all of the doctors I work with refer to mammals with both sex systems as hermaphroditic. I like Theo x Sora's ideas as well. . 0 players like this post! Like? |

The biological definition of a hermaphrodite is an individual who can produce both sperm and eggs. If cats can do that, it's news to me. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I have personally not seen any but I have heard of from a few doctors of cats and dogs with both testes and ovaries, though usually they don't work very well. But this is something that does occur in felines and canines. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Intersex- “Intersex” is a general term used for a variety of conditions in which a person is born with a reproductive or sexual anatomy that doesn't seem to fit the typical definitions of female or male." Hermaphrodite- "a person or animal having both male and female sex organs or other sexual characteristics, either abnormally or (in the case of some organisms) as the natural condition." Definitions off of google (this might be me, but intersex and hermaphrodite are different) and i'm on the fence with the suggestion 0 players like this post! Like? |

No support. It hasn't been well thought out enough to be considered a game suggestion, it's just an idea. 0 players like this post! Like? |

While I don't really support this, I DO want to say that intersex people exist, just normally (at least they used to) at birth doctors would assign a sex/gender to them and do cosmetic surgery sometimes without telling the parents just to make the baby match it's assigned "gender" more. The reason why you don't hear much about it is because of that, but lately they've finally stopped doing it to infants and are letting these kids grow up without being mutilated (probably because of angry parents backlash) I need to find the reports, but there's a theory that this is one reason or cause for someone being trans. The doctors made the wrong choice when assigning a sex/gender to a newborn and as an adult the person is basically freaking out trying to correct the mistake. Anything can be intersex, mammal, reptile, fish, bird ext... it's just not as common in mammals than it is in other things. 0 players like this post! Like? |

As an intersex person (who has, I feel I should mention, owned more than one animal that ended up also being intersex, so I'm not clueless on that either), I cannot support this. If you really want to have this effect, just use a lab test frog. There's a lot of misinformation in this thread. Trans has nothing to do with intersex, there are MANY different kinds of intersex, 'true' hermaphrodites do exist (although that term is generally considered to be offensive), and there is no particular 'look' to intersex people or animals. Mostly, though, just...what's the appeal to this mutation? I don't think that this mutation has a place on Lioden. (Plus, imagine how hard it would be to code this.) 0 players like this post! Like? |

I do think that an intersex lion would be cool to have, especially have they have the two sets of reproductive organs and both sets functionable so they could reproduce with both lions AND lionesses and being able to hunt AND to patrol but unfortunatly I higly doubt such thing would be possible because this would waaaaaay too hard to code... also most intersex animals and humans don't have the two full reproductive systems. Most of the time they have some parts but not all (etc. having a uterus, vulva, ovaries, vagina, testes and a prostate but no penis, etc.) or even having ambiguous genitalia. Or even sometimes its just the chromosomes while the reproductive system is ''normal''. Now i am not a doctor so this might not be 100% accurate. I apologize if its the case, but the point is most intersex don't have both testicular and oovarian tissues at the same time and even if they do they might lack the organs that allows to use them (at least naturally). 0 players like this post!
