Jask turns their head to the previous speaker, having noticed Amazonite had posed a question to them. They think a moment, forming their answer.
“Well, we don’t really have many actual traditions, however one of our lines of lionesses has imposed almost their own tradition for themselves”. They pause and shift a paw to an adolescent, whose pelt is covered in pink and purple markings.
“This is Adalind, descended from an integral member of our early pride: Yennefer. Her offspring have imposed a sort of tradition where we keep the lion who looks the most similar to Yennefer within our pride. It happened with Yennefer’s daughter Tissaia, then with her daughter Yelena, and now with Adalind”. They shrug their shoulders slightly “Maybe it’s an odd sort of tradition, I don’t know. This lineage seems to enjoy it though, they say it pays homage to Yennefer and her duties to our pride”.

Jask then stops, thinking for a moment, then turns to the next ruler to pose their question.
“Well, do you have any special roles within your pride? I know my pride has created two specialized duties within the time I have been leader. We have our Sorceress…which was filled by the deceased Wanda, and we just recently appointed my daughter Rosalee as our first Herbalist. We’ve found the two roles are incredibly important to how our pride runs. Do you have anything similar?”

Moss seems distracted, he keeps looking over his shoulder. He half-heartedly answers, “we… uh—no. We don’t have any special roles really.” He digs his claws into the soft ground beneath him, he’s looking at two lions splashing through puddles together and clearly wants to join them. “Some lions take care of writing things down… like history and uh—stuff.” His tail swishes impatiently.

He turns to the next lion and rushes his words out so quickly you can barely understand what he’s saying, but it was probably something like, “mmph—you like flowers? What’s your favorite?” After you’re done answering he bolts over to join the two playing lions. He may seem rude but he doesn’t get many chances to play, that’s all. That’s just what happens when you’re a god-like being who is also a child.

The king's empty eyes gazed at the lion before him. He tried to focus hard to answer the question presented to him; for he was used to jard questions he didn't have answers to. His lionesses seemingly loved to quiz him with impossible questions. Do you remember your past life? Of course he didn't! His head tilted slightly in confusion hearing the question. "Flowers? Yes, there are some growing around during the wet season. They make everything prettier for sure."

Encouraged by the easy question, Ice turned to the next king to give him another equally as non-threatening question. "What's your favourite food to eat? Personally, I love calves of any sort!"

Easter huffed shaking his massive mane, he just stopped by and decided to join in. His favorite food? He thought for a second, his hunting lionesses always bring a good assortment of food, though he usually eats when exploring. He opened and closed his jaw, his massive fangs making a clicking noise. "I would have to say anything young and fresh, I'm not picky." His shoulders shrugged, sort of.

He spun around, glancing at the next king, and thought about another easy question. "What is your favorite place to explore and why?" His claws dug into the dirt as he shook his mane once again.

He backed away, slowly. Because he was a young adolescent and was not risking ‘getting eaten ’. It took a while, but he realized, he wasn’t talking about lions, but decided not to say anything about that, because it would’ve made him embarrassed.

“I love to explore the temperate savanna. Although I don’t actually live there. I just like to explore there because many lions live there.”

He glanced at the next king (or queen if you happen to have a queen), who was sitting beside him.
“Hello! My name is Felidae 🐆. And I have a question for you.”
“How often do you get food that you can’t finish? And what do/would you do with it?”
He listens patiently.

Chameleon'shade sits down, her tail coiled around her. 'We never have food we cant finish.. the desert prey is scarce, those who do not finish their food are seen as wasteful, and would be punished by the spirits.' She said coolly, as if this was a normal happening. She picked her chest briefly, there was sand on her fur still, though she didn't mind.

The pride leader stretched her paws briefly and looked to the next king/queen.
'Hm.. does your pride abandon cubs at the giving tree, if so, how many?'
'You better not be the reason i get terrible cubs there..' She murmured under her breath.

The new king flicked his tail nervously. He didn't really make such important decisions - as long as his beloved daughters were by his side! "Most cubs are dropped off at the nearby nature reserve. There are more than enough cubs at the tree, my pride rather adopts them to try and clean up that overcrowded place. It's very rare we'd drop them off there. Unless they're pretty adolescents who can fend for themselves there!"

He then turned to the next rules in line, gave them a dazed look as he figured out the next question through the clouded mind. "Have you taken the trip to the Vredefort Crater? If so, can you give me some tips? I'm looking forward to going next month. "

Jask looks at the confused lion who’d spoken before them, taking in his question. They think back to the stories that had been passed down of the Vredefort journey, and begin to speak, their reptilian gaze looking around the crowd, speaking both to the king before them and to any who hadn’t taken the journey in previous years.

“While I was not the one to personally embark on the journey for my pride, I have heard of the stories from when our founder, Doriian, went to the crater. I believe a good piece of advice would be to read up on the tasks you will be asked to complete, and learn about them ahead of time. I believe there is a list called a…Wiki, I think? Which tells you all you may need to know about the Journey. It may also be worth your time to gather as many materials as you can, such as silver beetles and herbs, that might be needed for the quests, before you begin the trek to the crater.”

They finish speaking, and look to the next ruler, a question on their mind.

“Which month (event) is your favorite? Personally, I enjoy June and February, as the events in those months are very interesting. Though, the June event is becoming more difficult and less rewarding this year than it was last year…” Their question asked, Jask realizes they are rambling and quiets down for the next ruler to begin speaking.

"Many of the events are pointless. A means to collect more and more and for...what? Power? Status? Only a few things are actually worth the effort to get them."

Smoke pours from the answering king as he speaks, flames dancing through his eyes. His everlasting patrol has lead him here, and as there are young leaders, he may stop to protect them. The elders are watched, claws digging into the earth beneath him.

"If...I must chose. The events of October. For I walk the nightmare lands and the fires of Hell burn within me. It is then I can guide others like me to the rest they deserve. If the one who made us can let their spirits go."

His head turns slowly towards the next leader to speak, staring at him as much as through him.

"Gods walk the plains this month as serpents rip our lands to shreds. Who did you call for aid?"

“I chose Anubis!” Moss answers, his tail swishing back and forth. “I deal in death myself….sort of, I thought, why not learn a thing or two? But uhhh that hasn’t really worked out, in fact, I might know more than him on the subject.” Moss looked at his claws, his tail slowing. The grasses around him start to wilt with his disappointment.

Moss turns to the next leader, “what’s your experience with magic? Non-believer? Do you embrace it or turn it away? That sort of thing.” He looks up at the king/queen expectantly.

Phrixus wearily looks back at Moss, sliding a few inches away before speaking. "Uh.. well, I'd gladly turn it away, last time i had a paw in magic, my brother got possessed and I almost got killed..." His voice fell into a hum as he cleared his throat, facing the next king with a kind smile.

"What would be your favorite mutation?". His hazel eyes wait for their reply.

Sachi looks at the other lion. "Double Uterus gives me more chance to pick out some good cubs from my litters... Or from studs. But my heir Nephthys is a Felis, and oh, the muscle and gorgeousness in those Felis lions..."

"Now, what is a good trait in a good heir?" He looks at the lion with expecting eyes.

“Hm…” Stars looks down at his paw, flexing his claws absently. “I’d say mutations are worth the works. They make a lion- unique. Unlike those without. There are far too many plain lions in these savannahs…” he grumbles and presses his paw into the cool earth, leaving a paw print.
“It’s worth more to stud a lioness to an heir with a mutation, no? Then, if you don’t like a cub, they’d go for far more in the trading circles…” He flashes the next king a sneer.
“On the topic of mutations, which is your favorite? Tell me~ I won’t be violent if we don’t agree.” His eyes agree with his tone, though his once more flexed claws definitely do not.

Atrocitus smiles, baring his long fangs as his amber eyes glimmer with pride and confidence. "Do forgive me for being biased, but it would have to be primals. I took my strength for granted for many years, but since the birth of my heir I have been in awe of the strength that he has gained from me. When he was born, Mossface was shocked by how big and strong he already seemed!" He ruffles his son's dark red mane with affection. "I'm sure he'll be a great king someday! I think he's already picked his queen as well."

He laughs heartily as the younger male pounces at his bobbed tail. "My cubs are my proudest achievement, and I love them dearly- and I especially love seeing what a fine young prince this one is growing to be. But what are you most proud of?"

Jask grins at Atrocitus’s question before their gaze turns to look at their daughter, a reddish lioness who sits near them. To her other side is her mate, a large primal lion with a kind but protective gaze. Jask snaps their eyes away and back to the previous king to answer the question.

“Similarly to you, my cubs—my daughters—are my proudest achievement. And I could not be more proud of my child Rosalee in particular. She learned an entirely new skill to aid the pride, giving us access to knowledge we had never had before. By being our first Herbalist, she has opened the doors for future generations of the pride. Though, I suppose a second thing I’m extremely proud of is how my pride has grown. To think, I’m only the third ruler of these lands…I wonder what our founder would think.”

The ruler realizes they’re rambling and changes the subject, turning to the next leader.
“What do you think of the newest pelt color found this month…I think I’ve heard lions calling it ‘Ra’? Personally I think it looks quite nice, and I hope I will be lucky enough to have one with that coat born into my pride. Though it might be a bit difficult since it results from a combination of certain fur colors…”
Their question asked, Jask quiets so the next ruler may speak.
