I'm secretly channeling my cats into these lol the lilac tom and your cat together make my cat, Ninja. He was black and had a little white triangle on his belly. When me and my siblings and cousins would play outside, he'd always go with us. And he walked us to the bus stop and back. He was even hit by a car once but he lived a long, happy life c: I love cats so much lol

Vennai, Wikipedia has a pretty good page about basic cat genetics. I've double-checked their info with other sources just in case and as far as I can tell, it holds up. I also look at MessyBeast a lot because they have images and helpful diagrams. Some genetics, like silver and golden tabbies, are REALLY hard to understand and what we think we know of their genetics is just a theory. I also search "cat genetics" or specific things like "eye color genes in cats" and find random websites.

Also I could talk about genetics all day long so I'd love to mentor people on them for these guys lol
