It all started with a dream that soon turned to a species saving project guaranteeing the survival of the last of the African lion. It is the year 2050, many predatory species have been nearly wiped from existence thanks to wildlife conservatory groups that believed predators were a hindrance to non-predatory species conservation. Thanks to a bill passed by the UN in the year 2020, an annihilation of predators began and nearly succeeded until a problem arose for ranchers and private land owners faced a new dilemma. Without an abundance of predators, prey animals numbers spiked within a decade and within twenty years nearly wiped out savannas, wild lands and open meadows thanks to their large appetites of vegetation. Seeing their mistake of driving many predator species to extinction, the UN repealed the law of hunting of predatory animals and passed a new law allowing the captive breeding and releasing of the last predators of earth to help curb the prey animal populations that will soon wipe out natural vegetation and ask for an invasive species to thrive and ruin the ecosystems. Groups centralized around the world began extensive breeding programs based on the predator species native to each country and section of the world. The, A New Hope, project focuses on the revival of the Lion and sub feline species of Africa.

Background of Role-play

The goal of this role-play is to live through the lives of newly released predatory animals in Africa. Only a few spots will hold the opportunity to be one of the few last remaining wild lions of Africa while the rest have been reintroduced either pregnant, young or within a newly formed small family pride with a young king for re-population. Several solitary units of small African feline species will be released as well for natural re-population as well but lions will be the sole focus. The idea for this role-play will be to repopulate the African continent of natural predators and bring prey animal numbers that have skyrocketed down and restore natural order. Given the bill for hunting predators without permit has been removed and become illegal to hunt, beware as poachers and nay sayers of the bill will be after the predators making it a struggle to survive as the newly reintroduced lions are inexperienced within these conditions.

Plot

As a newly released candidate of the re-population program, you and your small unit if you have been paired with other females and or a young male, or are alone, have been micro-chipped, vaccinated and collared for new colonization of the African biome. You, for however long you lived in the captivity program, have just been released into a starter location for your destiny. You are determined to look for a new home to begin a life with your unit and hopefully, just hopefully, survive your first year in an new environment you are not familiar with or the prey animals. Hunting will be tough for you as you do not have the bulk natural bred lions have had in the past, but are leaner and lighter upon your paws. You may be a stride swifter than your predecessor but you are weaker and more vulnerable to remaining predator and prey animals and other released species. If you survive your first year and have established a successful routine to guarantee you and your units survival, the next thing you will have to do is find a suitable mate and begin breeding like jack rabbits to spread your genes across the continent to ensure your species survival. But as you do so, beware your human predators that will hunt you down disregarding the new law to help protect you. You may have been raised and trained by humans to survive, but these humans are out for your skin. It is your job to distinguish hunter from veterinarian and than begin your journey into solidarity from their help and make yourself and your progeny wild like your true ancestors.


For you few surviving predator species that preserved your wild instincts, it is your job to continue surviving and spread your wild genes. You can either ignore your captive brothers and sisters that have been raised and released by humans or you can choose to accept them into your lives and prides and help them survive out of compassion. If you choose not too, you are able to hunt them down and kill them to ensure only your cubs will survive. But as its more of just surviving and reestablishing your dominance on the wild lands it is preferred they be accepted after they prove your worth to you and your surviving pride and breed new, healthier generations to survive. You are larger, stronger, and wild. You know these lands and know how to survive unlike them. However given their leaner builds, they will be quicker than your heavier set selves. But without you and your instincts, most will not survive their first years alone. The benefits of breeding with these new lions would be genes are pure, no none predecessor diseases or ailments. Plus with vaccinations and healthy upbringings with their lean builds with provide healthier cubs and a prides survival.

All Lioden role-play and standard rules apply. Please respect one another within and out of the forum. Swearing is allowed to a PG-14 standard in daily structure and is allowed in increase in heated arguments but please keep it in a friendly manner and not become ignorant fools. Posting to the forum to assure activity will be made atleast twice a week by each individual. Activity checks will begin on every second and fourth Sunday of the month. Anyone found missing for more than a week from the role-play and checks will be put on probation for a week then banned. Multiple characters are allowed, but please do not create mates for your characters and role-play them. All cubs must have separate role-players and be subject to the terrain and order of the wild. Not every cub will survive. Unless the cub will become heir to the throne or unit, all male cubs will be chased at three years of age or killed depending on status with the king or kings. Position for king will NOT be open for reclaim. It is a position reserved only for the owner. Sub-king and queens are open for fighting with approval. Deaths must be approved as do mating. Forced breeding is allowed, through private messages and must be agreed upon.
