Hello lovely lioden players!

Edit 5/26/2018: Simple explanation: You no longer can breed the same type of marking in different slots anymore. Example: Passing both slot 5: Onyx margay and Slot 8: onyx margay on one lion WITHOUT the use of gnawrocks is now impossible. Bring back the old system and allow the CHANCE for same markings to pass in their respected slots.

Previous post: 23/08/17

Recently I spent lots of SB, GB, and plenty of nesting material to get a double onyx lion. I have not succeeded, for one reason. The system does not allow two of the same markings in different slots to pass //unless// forced to by Orche Gnawrocks.

β€œHey there!
This is not a bug, although I can definitely understand how it can be construed as such.

The marking system works in such a way that breeding two lions with two of the same exact markings in different slots will only ever pass on one set of the markings, not both onto one cub, unless an Ochre Gnawrock was used.

The only reason that there are two double Onyx Margay lions is because the owners used Gnawrocks on both Margay markings to secure the passing onto their cubs. If you want a lion to have double of the same marking, you'll need to apply it manually yourself (using applicators if they fit the situation), or use Gnawrocks during breedings.

I will make sure that this gets clarified in the FAQ when it is released, and is mentioned on the Wiki, as I know we have had no information about this on the site prior to my response here.” - Katze (direct link Here)

Had I known that, I would of saved up my currency for next month. Besides that, I am here to make a suggestion. Allow the chance for the two markings of the same type to pass onto the cubs. I dont think there is a bad reason why this couldn't work.

Please tell me your opinions!

It's an understandable feature. It's possible that you'd end up with tons of lions with doubles (or more!) of super common markings cluttering them up, which nobody wants. Personally, I think a lowered pass rate for the second slot would be more than enough of a solution if that's their concern.

Wait what? This didn't used to be the case! I has lionesses I bred with lots of work who got double lilac pelage, was aiming for triple, and now I can't do that without gnawrocks? That's messed up. :( Didn't know about that change! Support!

Exactly, there is no reason for it not to pass.

This used to be possible and didn't really affect much of anything. They may as well bring it back.

I bet this seriously devalued marking's being rare in certain slots I don't support changing it back. Would rather not see a 20 mark lion with the same marking over and over again just because people want to overlay markings to make them darker or brighter. If you want to do that you should do it in the ways the game allows you not ask lioden to bring back what was obviously never intended to be kept around.

How would it devalue the marking? It'll just pass like any other marking. Why would it matter if its in the respected slots its supposed to be in?

I support. Expensive marking apps can give the same marking twice, so they should both be able to pass.

Exactly! Why should those markings you worked so hard for not pass together? x.x Pain in the booty if you ask me. :)

This was already implemented as stated before and it didn't devalue anything. The pass rate was the same and it was kinda hard to get two marks to even pass unless you used a gnawrock. It's no more devaluing a mark than a lion having two colors of Maofelis or something.

IIRC when this was in there were no major complaints about it devaluing anything as markings spread much more quickly than a new base anyway. Eventually, it'll devalue as soon as a few studs with it are made and by the time the mark is spread out enough to even be layered like this it wouldn't be as valued by default.

I was actually trying for a multiple Celestial Speckles lion, a few months ago, when I learned this was no longer a thing.
So, definite support.
