"It's no problem, I think I just came overly early." Dakota hummed before hearing Angel's question. "Up to you. The champions are mostly royalty save for the Pink Kingdom who is from what I gather a noble, if my knowledge of the houses is correct that is. The companion to Pink is okay from what I can tell and the rest have yet to arrive. I would suggest trying to get to know them, we will most likely be with them for a while." Dakota said as her mismatched eye's darted to each and every person before returning to Angel.

Luce raised an eyebrow as their newest companion appeared, surprised to see a circle of nobles ignored in favor of the Blue Champion’s companionship. Raising one hand to her lips, she covered a slight giggle with a few, discreet coughs. It was cute, in a way, to see the way this stranger had eyes only for Dakota.

Sweet young love, she thought. Gods above, imagine if she said the words aloud. The scandal that would sweep over them all! Her father so often said she had a tendency to speak when she shouldn’t, see things that weren’t there. So for now, she’d keep her ideas to herself, speak of them later, when there was less of an audience.

Still, she couldn’t exactly eavesdrop on their conversation, especially when her own companion revealed themselves as the hooded figure. She smiled back eagerly, her eyes brightening. “My companion?” And, oh, there went that fleeting ability to keep her mouth shuttered. “Oh, I love it! I have the best companion!”

So mysterious, so quiet, so strange - but strange was romantic and different and good! Strange elevated Ryia to a plateau high above their companions. No, wait, perhaps the Blue’s companion was equally mysterious - but the contrasts of their clothing only heightened the sense of excitement that streaked up Luce’s spine.

”You must tell me of your abilities! We’ll create the strongest strategy, the best sort of team! That evil wizard won’t know what hit him!”

Naeome coughed back a laugh at Luce's enthusiasm. "Oh milady, would there perhaps be space on that team for the rest of us? You know, the group assigned to travel to defeat the wizard with you?" Humor, humor. Make yourself likable, Naeome. Not that she needed much urging from her father. Very early on she had recognized the benefits of maintaining good relations with others.

"Pleased to make your acquaintance, everyone. It seems that we are waiting on the white kingdom companion, as well as my own?" Naeome grinned in a lighthearted way, stroking Imogen's silky feathers.

Dakota silently watched the short conversation between the pink kingdoms chosen and the Yellow Champion before Angel surprised her by suddenly speaking up.and introducing herself, going as far as to show her normally hidden scar and powers as she did so. Dakota watched her for a moment before moving a step closer to her when she notices her nervousness before offering a small smile to her.

"No problem." Dakota hummed, barely blinking a eye at Angels blush, something that was seeming to become more common when they talked. Why, Dakota didn't know, but then again, she could be pretty dense if you didn't take a direct or clear approach.

“Oh, good!” Luce chirped. Already her mind was conjuring up potential strategies involving her companion - Ryia’s short descriptions weren’t much to go on, but it sounded as if they were the type to dabble in a variety of subjects. It was a good contrast to Luce’s own specialized learning and would help patch up some of the holes found in the areas Luce lacked skill in. Still, being of the Pink Kingdom, neither of them were likely to be truly seasoned fighters the way some of their cohorts likely were.

Which is why she smiled at Naeome’s words. “There’s plenty of space for everyone else! But considering the Pink Kingdom is known for its healing arts, I thought it prudent to assuage my companion’s skills - after all, we’ll likely be the ones in charge of healing if anyone gets hurt.” She gestured at Naeome, “It’s your job to make sure us squishies don’t get hurt, okay?” A wink followed her words.

Though she had hoped to ponder on what sort of abilities Naeome might show, she was quickly refocused as the Blue Champion’s companion stepped forward. She offered the nervous girl a soft look and said, “Pleasure to meet you, Lady Angel.” The scar marring the girl’s face drew a curious glance but she curbed her tongue, unwilling to perhaps bring up old demons, especially in the company of so many.

Then, she giggled. “I’m surrounded by so many beautiful people. Talk about a dream come true.”

Naome laughed. "Hey hon, your job depends on me failing mine, so I'll try not to be too good at it." Imogen let out the phoenix equivalent of a snort, a puff of hot steam, and rose into the air. When the shy companion from the Blue Kingdom spoke, Naeome turned to face her. She offered the girl a smile, as well as a perfectly executed curtsy.

Naeome looked back at Luce when she giggled. "Beautiful people in your dreams? Mine too." She raised an eyebrow with a cocky grin, hoping to convey that she meant nothing by it. Flirting was a hobby, and nothing more. She was certainly not going to get into anything with these people. For gods' sake, they were gathered to kill her!

Instead of voicing her thoughts, she laughed. "Might as well show off the pretty people in the kingdoms when you slay the wizard, eh? I think my parents just want me here for showcase, to be honest." Partially true. Their tournament was rigged, not because the monarchs thought their firstborn daughter couldn't win, but because they didn't want any spectators who happened to be watching from another kingdom to know the extent of what exactly she wielded.

"Mother didn't want me to come. She took my name off the list when she found out I had entered the tournament and replaced it with her general's. He won and I had to challenge him while he was still in the ring. Needless to say Mother wasn't quite happy about that, she got angrier when I won and we had quite a.....discussion" Dakota said, a small shiver accompanying her last words.
