One-Eye watched Ice carefully as the tom seemed to struggle with her question. Something inside her flickered briefly, some remembrance of a life long past, of kittenhood and the struggles of being on the street alone. A twitch of the tail quelled such feelings.
"Hmm, I get it." Her voice had lost some of its silkiness as her rusty gaze dropped to the barn they now approached. At the yowls of the two cats, her ears flattened slightly. There was no need for such loudness. Gaze followed the pair in observance, flickering up and down and taking in as much as she could. It was a small establishment, but well enough for the use of a cat or two for mousing. Easy enough escape routes if the need came for that, although having to climb hay and boards to rafter windows was not exactly a favorable option. The scent of hay was strong, so there was no guarantee more cats weren't in the barn. One-Eye was a fair fighter, but even she couldn't take on two cats, especially a tom much more well fed, and muscular than herself even with tricks.
"Charmed." Her gaze fell on the tom, and she ducked her head in modest fashion, knowing that was what the situation called for. Before she padded in after the pair, she turned to the young cat, eyes narrowing slightly. She was glad they had a moment alone, it made it so much easier.
"A word of advice, young kit." Dusty tail twitched towards the retreating figured.
"Even a place this nice can have rats." Her half gaze watched him unblinkingly, then with a swivel, she padded slowly into the barn.

One-eye watched the she-cat show off, hardly able to contain the rolling of her eyes. Making no attempt to follow, she instead began to sniff around the barn. Memories from her youth tugged at her mind, remembering her own mousing days. The prey scent was hidden in the sharp tang of the hay and other barn scents, but it was there. It would be a decent opportunity for an easy meal, if the slowly amounting group of cats allowed such an act.
"Cats who show off, are usually compensating for something." The mew was quiet, mostly to herself and Ice if he overheard, as she began to roam under them, taking in as much of the lower area she could.

"And only birds nest in rafters, I prefer to keep my paws on the earth." Truthfully, One-Eye had little desire to get so cozy with strangers, especially in an area that was more difficult if an escape was necessary. That, and their family closeness rubbed her fur the wrong way. Her eyes turned upward, a single glossy glow from the shadows.
"But I appreciate the offer." There. Now no cat could say she didn't have manners.

As she stalked among the hay, One-Eye's rusty gaze twitched between her target, and the racket the other cats were making. It was enough to set her teeth on edge, gritting the ivory points together. Now that she was safely tucked under their ledge, away from more prying eyes she felt more at ease with her facade. Playing nice was exhausting work when one hadn't for such a long time. As the young kit scaled the wall, One-eye paused. He'd have a fun time getting back down. That was where most cats froze up in her experience. It was one thing to get up, into a tree or a ledge but to face downwards and fall was not something many cats choose willingly. She'd seen more than her share of cats fear trapped in trees from this before.
Head shaking, One-Eye returned to the task at hand, body sinking into a crouch. The subtle crunches and shifting of the hay in a darkened corner were her target. Mice here were so dull, there was little thrill in the hunt. With a kick and a snapping of jaws later, she had found her prize. Trotting back towards the light, where she could see the other cats on their ledge she settled down, eye upward regardless of where her head turned.
