Sam "Samuel" Darrow || Male || Bloodlust Gifted || Location: abandoned rooftop, Outer City || Mentions: Ash, Remus, Open

Tremors ran down Sam's spine as the man called out not only to the other upon the roof, but also to him. He knew where he was dammit! The urge to flee weighed heavily on his shoulders but he remained still. He doesn't even think he would even be able to anyway. His eyebrows furrowed as he tried to look closer only flicker swiftly over towards another figure making it's way over towards the hunter. What are they doing?! He huffed, why did he even come here? He can't do anything anyway without using his ability. Like he would use it anyway. He hated the feeling of no control of his mind, feral, remoresless, and brutal, scaring him half to death everytime it would trigger itself.
It was like watching two wolves size one another up, see who was the largest, the most dominant of the two. Snapping jaws and snarls replaced with sarcasm and predatory gazes. Sam edged out from his hiding spot enough to show himself but able to rush baxk to it if need be. Round eyes flickering from the hunter towards the girl, waiting for things to turn around and become ugly. god he was scared out of his mind.

Ezhno|Beast Tamer/Pure Earth Manipulation|Location: Cement wall, Outer City|Mentions: Remus, Ash, Sam

Ezhno urged forward, avoiding the illumination of street lights as he slunk his way down darkened passageways of the Outer City. Keeping to the shadows allowed him and his mutt to blend in, nearly unseen. Dressed in dark attire and his hood over his head, he was easily missed. Like a black cat stalking through the night, Ezhno scoped out his next victim. As late as it was, he knew there were gonna be a few stragglers on their way home from the bars, or something like that. He never payed much attention to the workings of this city, only that it was dangerous, and the people of the inner cities were rich. Very rich. Whoever fell haplessly into the teen's hands would be as helpless as a kitten, what with the help of his four-legged partner in crime.
Moving silently, threateningly, down the street, Ezhno was heading for the most active spot in town at night; Asbury’s Lotus Nightclub, located in the Inner City. It was a rowdy bar not sore to the sights of the rich and famous, and not shy to the licentious presence of hookers that lingered at its street's corner. Most saliently, the establishment was open all...night...long. Only closing on Sundays and some holidays, Lotus was a hot-spot for people that loved to just gaunt their money around like it grew on trees. He was most always successful there, even when the Hunters were scouting the turf. They didn’t know of his existence, anyways. He was new to the area, just having arrived here about a month ago, and he hadn’t run into one of them yet. Knock on wood...A fight was never known to be avoidable when one would cross paths with a Hunter. Ezhno knew. They would do anything to end your existence, even if it meant rendering a kid without a home..
The scoundrelly pair worked their way along a cement block wall that bordered the left side of the darkened street, just a mile or so away from the entrance to the Inner City walls. He scrambled upwards and crouched at the top of the wall beneath the swaying tendrils of trees, where he was hidden from sight. Ziggy watched him with an eager expression, before the boy urged her to get into position. Resting for a moment, Ezhno took note of the lack of noise in the air. Silence. That was never a good thing. Even the sounds of the city seemed to be muffled and far off. Something was happening.
"Hunters..!" Ezhno whispered to himself through a small gap in his grinning lips. He could smell the cigarette smoke. He could smell the damned mook, probably out on another patrol. Ezhno’s curiosity naturally got the better of him, and he abandoned his pickpocketing quest to see if this Hunter was the same one he had been stalking for the last week. Ziggy noticed her master’s change of direction, and followed him with a newfound excitement on the opposite side of the wall. She, too, was aware of the static in the air. As he crept effortlessly along the wall, Ezhno had to pause for a moment and listen to what sounded like faint voices coming from below. He turned slowly, carefully peeling his hood back from his head as he peered down from his perch to spy three figures. He first spotted the hunter, who seemed to be having a conversation with another being hidden amongst the shadows. Then, he caught sight of the third party just below him. It was another man in a navy blue garment, and he could tell by the way he stood clear of the hunter that he was most likely one of the gifted. Ezhno also took note of how heavy the boy’s breaths were. He was afraid. Ezhno could see it. He could smell it. Why was he still here if that were the case? He could make a run for it- Oh, no. Not anymore. With the way he flung himself out in the open like that, the hunter had to have noticed him for sure. Ezhno decided to focus on the feminine sounding voice that addressed the hunter, trying to make out what she was saying. Why was she talking to him? Maybe she didn’t know that he was a hunter. Ziggy became curiouser and curiouser by the second, finally managing to hoist herself onto a pad mounted utility box so she could pop her head over the top of the wall and watch the show unfold alongside her master. The two were as quiet as the night as they observed.

Remus "Crow" Ryers|Male, Hunter, Long range, Strategist/Tracker| Location: Outlands|Mentions: Ash, Sam

Remus eyes the frail looking girl, sizing her up. She may not have looked like much, but he knew from experience not to underestimate the gifted. He gave a glance to the boy, not as worried. He seemed less outspoken, and Remus may not have even known he was there if he hadn't made noise. Small and frail seemed to be a recurring theme with the Gifted. Nonetheless, he knew he would have quite the time with them. "You're not disturbing anything, my dear. In fact, I think this is just what my night needed." He looked the street up and down, before turning his attention back to the two, the sudden feeling of being watched creeping coldly down his spine, a feeling that had become all too familiar in recent times. "You know, places like this aren't safe after dark. Especially not for...people like you." His tone was icy, but still edged with perverse amusement, clearly not concerned in the least.

Ash Burke|Female Teleportation Gifted|Location: Abandoned rooftop, Outer City|Mentions: [D] Remus, Sam [ID] Ezhno
---
Ash could feel the tension build, however as the hunter looked behind him, her own gaze flickered to look as well. for a moment she had thought there was something in the distance, yet it could easily have been shadows playing tricks. However, she no longer was in the mood to play his games. It was time to act, and Ash was not fond of the defense.
"well, then guess I should go." With that, her actions were swift. Pulling a small object from her sleeve, she tossed it towards Remus, the small pack of firecrackers fizzling, then going off with a series of pops and flashes. Not particularly dangerous, but useful for mere shock factor and ruining night vision. In the same breath, she swiveled on her feet, with a crack, re-appearing next to Sam, landing with a stumble and catching herself on his shoulder, attempting to push the boy down to faint cover as she did so.
"I really hope you're one of us." Her words were breathy, a faint amount of blood beginning to appear on her cheek from a series of paper thin scratches. However from the reaction of the hunter below them, she at least figured he wasn't a partner of their enemies. From her other fist, she pressed a piece of paper in his hand. Scrawled on the parchment was a crossroad not far from where they were.
"Whatever you are, Comrade or passerby, Stay and fight, or run. However if you need help, go here." Her eyes swiveled over the boy for a moment, before she shimmed sideways, still on the roof and peering down at Remus, dislodging one of Hedge's quills from her waist, tucking the long needle within her sleeve. As she did so, she peered at the numbers written on her arm when it was exposed. "50 meters, 100 meters." Ash frowned. she was getting dangerously close to her limit.

Sam "Samuel" Darrow || Male || Bloodlust Gifted || Location: abandoned rooftop, Outer City || Mentions: Ash, Remus, Open

Sam let out a startled yelp as a series of loud pops and flashes fill the quiet street bellow. Barely able to recover from the shock as a weight pushes him into the cover of the stairwell exit. The slip of the paper going unnoticed as his spilt second reaction was to swivel around and deliver a rushed punch at the intruder, missing horribly, only to realize it was the girl who was in the street minutes before. Wait, how did she get here so quickly? The brunette's breath catches in his throat only able to nod vigorously at her words, was she a part of the Resistance? He had only heard of rumors and gossip in certain areas of the group of Gifted, never to really interact with any of the members before. But here they were now, hopefully. Sam hisses as he jerks his head to the side, wretching a arm up to peer at the stinging skin of his elbow. His elbow was skinned pretty good, it burned and stung but he would be able to deal with the pain. Not like he didn't get any as a kid, Sam quickly shakes off the pain to scramble upwards in order to keep a eye on thr hunter from down below.

Caius Vlaier | Male | Electrokinesis Gifted | Location: Abandoned Street, Outer City | Mentions: Ash, Others [ID]

Sides heaving with ragged breaths, Caius leaned back against the wall, jagged debris jabbing into his spine. Wincing, he curled his back much like a cat would and instead settled himself onto the ground. As he tried to slow his breathing, he focused intently on trying to hear the commotion that he had attempted to leave behind. A winding curiousity was making its way through his head, and though he knew it would be far safer to stay away from whatever the hell had happened back there, Caius was rather stupid when it came to situations like these. He wasn’t feckless, per se, just far too inquisitive for his own good. His hair was damp with sweat and covered in a thin layer of dust, which had been landing on his head steadily ever since he had settled down.

Crossing his legs, he sat his backpack to the side, sliding his lean arms out of the straps and then propping his chin on his hands. His mismatched eyes followed a thin strand of ants, watching the tiny creatures heave chunks of something unidentifiable over their little bodies and march onwards. Caius could appreciate ants- they were humble, organised, and yet still managed to be vicious. They were rather like what he thought the Gifted should be, instead of what they were, because what they were was a disorganised faction of frightened beings with nowhere to go and no place to turn. For this reason, Caius had always preferred to be alone. On his own, he had no one to worry about but himself, and therefore he could survive far longer than he would in a group. He glanced subtly at the jagged metal coming from his hands, which only seemed to confirm his thoughts; surely, if he were in a group, he would have accidentally impaled someone by now. He ran a dark pink tongue over the snakebites implanted under his lips, musing over his situation.

Esme “Black Dahlia” | Female | Marksman/Sharpshooter Hunter | Location: Inner City, Rooftop, Ground | Mentions: Hedge [ID]

Esme’s head turned just in time to see the Gifted, though she heard none of his unintelligible garble that spilled from his mouth. A pulse of rage rushed through her as he darted off, pushing his way through the throng of civilians and disappearing back into the crisp night air. Her combat boots thrummed against the ground as she gave chase, one hand on the revolver tucked into her leg band and the other securing her rifle to her side. Aim to capture, not kill, she reminded herself, a sliver of disgust shooting through her as she realised that meant this wouldn’t truly be a Hunt. Yes, cliché though it was, Esme had taken to calling her killing missions Hunts. No one was stupid enough to attempt to dissuade her.

The limber female shot after Hedge in quick pursuit, her green and brown-patched eyes narrowed in fury. The Gifted was fast, she had to grant him that, but she was just as fast. Years of training had turned her body into a well-oiled machine; her legs were coiled with muscle and she had barely broken a sweat. I am the Black Dahlia, Esme chanted to herself, and none escape my bullet. She sent a flurry of pebbles flying as she attempted to shoot at the Gifted, missing by nary an inch. A guttural growl ripped its way from her throat as she followed him still.

Ezhno|Beast Tamer/Pure Earth Manipulation|Location: Cement wall, Outer City|Mentions: Remus, Ash, Sam

Suddenly, a burst of light and sharp, crackling sounds filled the air. He watched, wide-eyed and intrigued as the female figure made her escape. Wow, talk about a jazzy exit. He ducked a little, not particularly avid on discovering the hunter’s next plan of action.

He would probably only fail miserably anyways. He’s already watched too many of them get their asses kicked by Gifteds. With precise movements, Ezhno crept along the top of the wall until he reached the end and grasp onto the rusted storm drain running along a derelict building. There was a dull metallic wrench, but besides that, silence as the boy climbed onto the roof and slunk along in the shadows provided by the cast of surrounding taller buildings. He was not about to stick around now that that hunter was on the edge. Freedom was not something Ezhno took for granted, and tonight was not the night he was going to start. Ziggy found her own way along the ground, through tunnels and alleyways, to keep up with her maverick of an owner. She could pull her own weight alongside Ezhno. That’s what made them so alike, and as a result they made for a rather efficient team.
Within less than an hour the two had met at a baby blue cadillac with its back wheels missing, the frame rusting away at its edges as it rested for eternity on the very outskirts of Asbury. With all but two of the windows shot, the interior smelling like oil and tearing at the seams, the abandoned vehicle didn’t make the most comfortable living space. But it was safe, and it was a living space...of sorts. Beggars couldn’t be choosers, and besides, Ezhno was never picky about where he slept so long as no one could come along and slit his throat open while he was frollicking off in dreamland.

”Hey, there were too many eyes, okay?” Ezhno sprawled out in the back of the car, his mutt whimpering arguably at him from the passenger’s seat. “You gotta know how to pick your fights, otherwise you’ll end up like old Phil over there.” The boy gestured to a deteriorating human skeleton partially buried amongst the rubble. Its skull was wearing a gaping frown, as if Phil had perished mid-scream. Ziggy whined louder and crammed herself into the backseat with the boy, whose grunts were evident of his discomfort. She lay splayed along him with her head on his chest. “Alright, you see? We’re smarter than Phil. You and I are gonna make it out, and we’re gonna annihilate those self-proclaimed ‘heroes’ into the dirt for everything they’ve done.” The boy’s hand was trembling as he stroked it along the top of his dog’s head, her eyes blinking closed as he did. With an elongated sigh, Ezhno craned his head back against the window frame to gaze up at the heavens. “I wont give up on you. I promised.” With a longing look, Ezhno moved his head back into the car and rested it against the frayed leather of the interior, doing his best to lull himself off to sleep. But the noises outside were too much for a paranoid teen to ignore.
(didn't really like the look of the bold text)
