With the introduction of the latest July base, Sunset, me and some friends thought about how unbalanced they are currently distributed in the color groups - three in the Black group, one in the Red, and none in the remaining ones, even though some would be right at home in another color group. So, why not change their genetics? I know, I know, it'd probably ruin some ongoing breeding projects, but it's nothing we haven't experienced already, so I don't see why we cannot adapt again.

The actual idea is as follows: Celestial base genetics would remain as they are, Black Dark Countershaded Special, and so would Sunset's genetics, those being Red Medium Countershaded Special, but Sidereal and Skyward would get a little tweak: Sidereal would belong to the Cream group, so its genetics would be Cream Medium Countershaded Special - and thus filling a void in the chart -, and Skyward would be changed to fit into the Golden group as a Golden Light Countershaded Special base.

Thoughts?

@Alma

I don't know, as a whole they haven't been neglecting color groups much. I can only speak from what I've seen since I joined, but here are the special event bases relesed that come to mind: Sidereal and Sunset, Ethereal, Cherry Blossom, Nacre, Glacial and the gemstone bases, Inferno/Blazing - I can't remember which one was new from last year -, now Bloodbourne... The favored group seems to be Black, and the favored gradient, Countershaded, which also translates to the other three color groups. The only group that I can see as being neglected in this regard is Golden, as its only special app currently... Is Green. We have up to three custom special bases - Topaz, Sunshine and Xanthic -, but that seems so little to me, compared to the other color groups...!

Some players argue that it's completely normal because other groups are more popular, but that's hardly fair, as they wouldn't be so if the groups had been given updates equally since the genetics' update. At least the groups won't be pitted against each other anymore, which is awesome.

I don't breed for these bases at all, so take this with a grain of salt:

I would freakin' love if there were even a single July base in Golden (or Cream). Black and Red are fine groups and all, but they both have lots of amazing applicable and breed-only bases, and me sitting over here playing with mostly Cream and Golden lions has, uhm... Green, Nacre, and Cherry Blossom (or Oasis Golden Solids, which I chose, so tells you something). And I can't even breed out Green, so really I'm left with two choices for Cream Countershaded that I don't particularly like.

I know it would ruin breeding projects. It would ruin mine! I'd have to scramble to buy expensive lions with super special bases.

@Bezthiel

Yup, I've been there, too. Positive side is that, as a norm, we have more inheritable special bases from a breeding - at least I get that impression when I look at the genetics chart.
