He had led them to the river, the thin stream of water filled with rocks and fallen trees, easy to cross if a cat desired. However, Shadowstar kept them on their own side, tail wrapped around his paws as he waited for the sound, or scent of a patrol. The tension of the wait was perhaps, one of the few things that could cause the usually chipper tom to clench his jaw, mismatched eyes swiveling this way and that, to his own clan cats, to the trees beyond.
"Come on." The mutter was aimed at the air, the sun slowly rising, turning from a cool morning, to the last warm hints of Green-leaf.

Mossheart, for the most part had been silent, a part of her was relieved she could wait to tell Swiftpaw, but he felt perhaps now would be the best time to speak with Shadowstar, while the small patrol waited for any sign of Dawnclan.

"Shadowstar...may I have a quick private word with you while we wait?" The Siamese She-cat asked. Her tail tip twitched with anxiety, not something she felt often...but as the first ever prophecy to be told, she couldn't help but feel twitchy and nervous. She hoped Shadowstar would know what this meant.. Or have some clue as to the meaning behind the words Thornclaw had spoken to her a few nights ago.

Shadowstar twitched an ear, looking at the Medicine cat. It wasn't exactly the ideal moment, and he was about to say such when he remembered- he had given her the rank of Medicine cat. Despite his misgivings at making such a choice, she had been up to the challenge and in the short amount of time had done as much as she could with her knowledge.
The cat deserved the respect of the rank she was bestowed.
"Of course, Mossheart." He mewed, however his eyes continued to flicker back and forth, from the she-cat to the border. He could swear he saw something flickering in the distance. Cats? Perhaps. However nothing had revealed itself yet, and the lack of yowls and oncoming claws gave the tom a false sense of security about their venture.

Mossheart padded only a few feet away, knowing the others couldn't hear them thankfully, she began to speak...

"Shadowstar...A few nights ago..on the new moon I got a prophecy from someone named Thornclaw.. I have no idea what it means but he said, When the sun goes dark, blood will be spilt. Without balance, there will only be destruction. The light will be your guide." Her eyes seemed to go darker as she spoke this outloud. It was the first time she said it,
but not the first time she repeated it in her mind. After all she had to keep the words imprinted in her mind to tell Shadowstar, right?

A shiver ran through her, as if Starclan had coursed through her at these words. It caused her fur to stand on end for but a moment.

He had to have a clue...he just had to..

Shadowstar listened intently, his eyes finally slowing to rest on Mossheart, narrowing slightly as he contemplated her words. A slight flicker of pride flared in his chest. If Mossheart was getting prophecies and seeing Starclan, that had to mean they had a right, were doing the right thing being in the forest. The relief was short lived however as she spoke the words. None of it sounded good. While the tom did not want to admit ignorance, pretending to understand the words was beyond him.
"I think, perhaps time will tell?" It was a weak response, and he knew that so he quickly spoke again.
"That is to say, from what I know Starclan works in rather mysterious ways. Perhaps they will give a more clear sign as time goes on?" At the words of destruction however, he wondered just how much time there would be. However, before he could continue to ponder the words, his pelt began to prickle, as a faint rustling met his ears.
Swiveling on his paws, he raised his tail and planted himself on his paws, not wanting to appear threatening, but also not willing to show the other cats weakness.
"Cats of Dawnclan, we come not looking for a fight, but instead with our claws sheathed, looking to have words with your leader." He called out, wondering if the cats would attack regardless of his words.

Once Shadowstar replied and she gave thought to his words.. the sound of rustling leaves and bushes grabbed her attention as well. She trotted back over to the others and flicked an ear. She sure did hope there would be no violence..

"Shadowstar is right, we come baring no harm. Simply to speak." Mossheart gave a small call out to the Dawnclan patrol soon to approach. She quickly thought of something to add on. "I am Mossheart, the medicine cat of Duskclan. We hope you understand we are here for words, not violence." Her voice was confident, but held only truth.

Shadowstar narrowed his eyes slightly, and though small, still raised himself up, head high.
"I am Shadowstar, of Duskclan. I require words with your leader." He repeated the sentiment.
"As for our business, that is a conversation for your leader." His tail twitched at the hostility, however he kept himself calm, despite the pounding in his chest and the adrenaline coursing through his veins. He understood their hostility, but couldn't help a flicker of annoyance cross his face. Obviously if that had planned something, they wouldn't have sat idly by the boarder.
"If we were looking for a fight, we would not have made our presence known so easily. " He glanced towards the female on their side who seemed the least hostile, hers the only considering voice.
"Your warrior is right. Why would we offer ourselves to your escort, knowing full well it would lead us to a clan filled with more than our few numbers here?" He padded forward, standing on the very edge of the thin river.
"You can chase us away now, however we will just come back. At least we had the decency to wait, instead of merely wandering into your territory." He stared at each in turn, focusing all his energy on maintaining his stare, the confidence in his veins to resist the urge to quiver. Starclan help them, if he got his cats hurt...
