"Let's do it anyway!"

Dustpaw gave a slight yowl of surprise when another cat appeared. He had almost forgotten they were in the middle of a fight. As the tom spat, and lunged at him, he felt the sharp claws pull at his fur. Glad for his thick neck ruff, the tom threw himself backwards, writing and yelping in surprise, even more-so when the weight and claws lifted. His green eyes were wide as he stared at the tom, hackles raised instinctually. Yet, it had been this other cat, Snowpaw who had stopped her clan mate from fighting. Looking at the new arrival, he could tell he was quite a few moons older than the Dawnclanner, and even with his lesser experience could have done some damage. He was about to lash out, when the cat ducked, looking apologetic, suddenly talking.
Strange fur? Dustpaw's brow furrowed.
"Thats odd. I'm sorry they didn't listen. And, I'm glad you believe us. But, I know this is about more than just an apprentice. I mean, we did just take territory. I think Shadowstar could have gone about things better. Both the leaders could have." He felt a bit bad, talking to these two Dawnclan cats, yet he was glad that despite the yowls and blood thirsty, there were plenty of cats who just wanted to exist.
"And, I don't want to go against our orders either. I should have stayed behind but.." his voice trailed off. There were cats he wanted to protect, even if he still had so much to learn.
"Look, I'm not going to attack you. I'm going to make sure the cats I care about don't get killed by watching, but I can't raise my claws against a cat with my heart not in it." His narrow shoulders shrugged, eyes flipping betwen the fighting clans, and the two cats who stood by him.

CloudPaw nodded to the other cat an idea popping in his head, " What if we try talking to our leaders. Well since WolfStar isn't here me and SnowPaw could convince SunFall to stop this." The tom paused for a moment he looked up the deputy and knew for a fact that he didn't want this either. " I know he doesn't agree with what WolfStar is doing so maybe we could talk some sense into them" he didn't know if it would work or if DustPaw and SnowPaw would be on board but he new that he needed to try! His paws prickled with unease as the rain began to soak at his pelt, he shivered a little his fluffy fur was not water proof. He sighed hating getting his fur wet.

CloudPaws fur bristled as HeatherPaw approached them he unsheathed his claws anger sweeping through him, " HeatherPaw! I saw you earlier! Helping SlackJaw break that cats leg" He snarled at his Clanmate ashamed that those two represented the DawnClan name. " I'm disappointed in both of you what in StarClan's name made you think that was okay?!: he hissed wanting to claw his ear, but he took a breath and kept his cool he glanced at SnowPaw his fur felt hot under her gaze. he turned his attention back to HeatherPaw. " Why would you do something so cruel?" he mewed hoping that some cat had taught him a lesion.

The white She-cats honey eyes narrowed as Cloudpaw spoke, though more in thought than to form a frown. “We’re still our own cats. If you were told to attack a injured cat, would you?” She said with a sudden courage, standing somewhat between Cloudpaw and the stranger. As Cloudpaw began to speak however, ear eyes widened. “Cloudpaw... why didn’t you go to Wolfstar..?” this could have been avoided she thought, ears turning flat as she looked to the duskclan apprentice. “Are you okay..?” She looked at the stratched that now lined a small portion of his fur.

Her attention shifted to the new cat, her stance one again becoming timid, especially now where she was. She seemed to me more attentive, ears swiveling around to listen behind her. When Cloudpaw spoke however, a look of horror crossed her face. “Are we fighting for the right side here..?” She winced, eyes locked to the ground, shivering as the rainwater soaked her white fur.

((Hah hey cotton/guys - wolf star is assumed there and fighting. Please....don't retreat. That throws things off XD. Ill start the b plot tonight since the fighting seems to be fading. *had this worked out with wolf star to make it work but having to alter all that lol ))

SunFall looked around at all the fighting cats he felt dizzy as they all screeched and hissed at each other, he grittned his teeth wishing WolfStar would just stop this madness and call back already. But that wouldn’t happen in a million moons, the deputy’s hackles raised as he saw DuskClan and DawnClan cats... talking? He ran up to them identifying CloudPaw and SnowPaw, “ what do you think your doing?!” He snarled at the two whipping his head around to the DuskClan cat “ were at war! Not a gathering last time I checked they were the enemy” He unsheathed his claws ready for battle. WolfStar was counting on SunFall to keep things in check and make sure all cats were doing what they needed, so that’s what he would do.

CloudPaw looked at SnowPaw bewildered as she spoke his ears laid flat against his head and his eyes narrowed, “ you really think WolfStar would listen to me?” He snorted looking down at his paws. “ I’m just a dumb inexperienced apprentice what good does my words do?” The tom asked silently letting a sigh escape, his head snapped to SunFall as their deputy approached, “ mousedung!” He whispered to SnowPaw. the white tom could feel his paws prickle as they were scolded, “ but SunFall we don’t want to fight them!” CloudPaw said but didn’t dare jump to stop the older cat, he wasn’t going to stick his neck out that much for DustPaw. He looked to SnowPaw wondering what to do.

The white apprentice would turn her head to the nearest sound of thundering paws, eyes landing on the deputy of her clan. Her ears would flatten as a look of terror crossed her face. Would she have to fight this Tom, a cat who didn’t even want to fight?

She stepped between Sunfall and the stranger, head lowered. She’d never attack her deputy, but she’d try and stop unneeded bloodshed. “S-Sunfall, I won’t attack someone who doesn’t even want to fight. I-it’s not right.” She said, ears low and tail swishing against the ground. Starclan, she felt like she could faint! “Not all of these cats are the enemy... most of us don’t even want to fight!” She raised her voice so Sunfall could hear, tears in her eyes mingling with the rain that splashed her fur. “Cloudpaw said he found strange fur in the claws- I don’t think it was Duskclan.” She looked to Cloudpaw for a moment, only to return her gaze to Sunfall, desperation in her eyes.

Splashwing shook the mud from her eyes deftly, blinking her blue orbs with a wicked grin. She had to restrain a laugh when Midnightsnow told her that she had made a mistake. "I don't make mistakes," she rumbled, taking the black and white tom's impact against her shoulder. She spun with him, her muscles relaxing to allow the impact to absorb.

The multicolored mollie used his momentum against him, twisting her body so that he could fly past her without much harm to either of them. Her shoulder rang from the tom's attack, the muscles taut from pain. She shook it off, pouncing at Midnightsnow while he was still recovering from the motion. The mud was helpful to her, sending them both skidding along the ground towards the thicker part of the battle. Her fur rose in excitement, prepared for the tom's rally.

SunFall had been forcing himself to bare his teeth when SnowPaw pushed herself in between the two enemy's, the tom snorted of course there were cats who didn't want to fight the deputy himself didn't want to be involved in the pointless bloodshed. However the words that came next from the pretty she cat made his fur run cold strange fur? he asked himself whipping around the face his apprentice the older toms face was filled with confusion, " Is this true? and if so why didn't you tell me?" The blue tabby asked his voice sounding almost hurt. Could his own apprentice not trust him with what he had found? Or was it something else? If it turned out that the white cat didn't trust him than SunFall would be devastated how was he supposed to take care of HollyWhisker and her kits if his own apprentice couldn't trust him. His eyes narrowed and he shook himself from his inner conflicts now was not the time he thought to himself, SunFall shook his head and focused on what CloudPaw said he listened carefully blocking out all of the other cats.

CloudPaw gulped as his mentor confronted him about keeping the strange hair from him, he shook his head the tom's ears were flat against his head as he stammered. " I-I-I didn't think y-y-you'd believe m-m-me SunFall. I told EchoStep b-b-but she didn't even look" He looked down at his paws ashamed off himself for not having faith in his deputy. " I Just, its because, WolfStar wouldn't have" He trailed off feeling anxiety build up in his chest it felt like his heart was going to explode any second. He glanced at SnowPaw and felt even more embarrassed he was making a fool of himself in front of her! But try as he might CloudPaw just couldn't muster up the courage to face his mentor and deputy. " I'm sorry this must be all my fault" It was true maybe if CloudPaw had been more determined this war wouldn't have happed, was all of this blood really on his paws? StarClan forgive me! He pleaded silently to himself waiting for all the cats to lash into him, his body shivered hard as he braced himself for the verbal out lash.

As the Dawnclan cats increased around him, Dustpaw stepped back. Yet, he did not need to get a word in, as they started to hiss among themselves. Flashing Snowpaw a good luck glance, he swiveled on his paws and took off, not wanting to risk the claws of a true and trained warrior. Yet, he still didn't leave, instead his paws found him aiming towards Greystep, skidding in the mud and wet to fall in place at the former barn cats side, giving him a sideways glance.
"I guess this is one way to prove we deserve our half of the forest." He mewed, not knowing if his words could even be heard over the clashing of cats. He shook his head, to clear the rain from his fur. It felt as if they had been fighting for ages, yet it had hardly started, time distorting from the adrenaline pumping through his veins. Standing on his toes, Dustpaw's head turned this way and that, making sure he wasn't taken off guard, and that Greystep's flank was protected on his side.
