kinda self explanatory? i got tired of seeing the same lions over and over again every time i log in, so i was thinking lions owned by players could be chosen at random (or maybe nominated?) to be featured on the home screen. underneath the picture of the lion would be their name and a link back to the owners page. and owners could get a game notification saying something along the lines of "Congrats! Your lion, Name, has been featured on today's home page!" it'd be a good way for players to get exposure and for those seeing the lion's image to interact more with the community.

i could see this feature being a bad thing because of the "prestige" of your lion getting chosen? but ykno.

if you don't support for a specific reason, tell me why! overall though, this is kinda just a for-fun idea and might be a little too frivolous to be implemented anytime soon, or ever. thanks anyways!!! ;3c

*EDIT* Additions by Skkon_ (#41823)
"I very much prefer a randomized selection over a nomination system! And I think they bring up a good point about it being a disadvantage for new people! Now that I think about it, showing rolled lions wouldn't be a huge deal, ESPECIALLY if the featured lion changes every time you open the home page!"

Additions by Nyte V2 (#123996)
"I would prefer to see a 100% randomized selection.
This way there would be no favoritism selected and it would give every player a chance to be featured on the main page no matter what lion, what mutation, so forth.
The downfall with "nominating" lions daily, weekly, monthly, whatever is that there will be a huge disadvantage for new people."

Additons by BlockedRelic06 (#124168)
"A possible variation on that is a toggle box option on your lions, maybe at the bottom of their page near their profile or something where you can choose something like "Have this lion featured on the home page?" and then tick the box if yes, or leave it blank if no. Maybe a way to block someone ticking all their lions in an effort to get at least one featured, each person could have a limit to how many they can select to be shown? Possibly based off of territory; every 10 territory = one lion you can choose or tick to be submitted or something, that way everyone has a chance to have their lions featured and it won't be a ton of the same player's lion if they have a ton of them."

This suggestion has 367 supports and 9 NO supports.

But isn't the leader board kinda advertising higher level kings who are up for studding? I don't see much difference with using the login page.

@Iris - I agree. The kings on here are absolutely gorgeous, but I don't think it'd work out because of how many are up for studding.

Also, I've seen that one albino lioness from the claim screen at least 20 times today. lmao

@ashleigh i suppose, but it still seems a bit different. you've got to work to get on the leaderboard. but i see your point.

@relic yeah, as if we aren't already seeing bland ncls on the welcome page. ones owned by players aren't much different.

I don't think it'd matter. Most people who sign on either don't have the money, are new, or don't care. There's the few that would see and care, of course, but I highly doubt most people will see a featured King and go "Oh, let me check his information and take time out of my day when I planned to do something else to see if he can be studded and if he'd be a good match!" But, hey, I'm just the idiot with a month-old account who can't even keep their SB in the 2000s because they keep buying shit.

@Ashleigh - yeah, that's true, but I still agree w/ Iris on the working part. Those kings have taken tons of work, items, and breeding to get up on that high stat leaderboard, and the level board is the same. A new player doesn't go straight to looking at them.

@Blueyyy - hah, true, same. If one was pretty enough, though, I might check it out. Bundling your SB helps. :p I do tend to spend a good chunk of mine on stud fees, though. :/

I definitely like the random-rolled one better. Nominations could get kinda...bad. If someone is friends with a lot of people, then those people will get their lions up all the time and newer players without many friends on here wont.

I don't think kings appearing is that big of a deal, even if they are for studding. It raises the same issues: "Oh she's pretty, is she for sale? I'll pm them an offer"

Then there's the people who will feature lions that they actually want to sell them, as an advertisement. They will be minority, but I'm sure everyone will do it at least once.

All in all, I don't feel it matters that much. I don't personally mind if a king gets studded or a lioness gets bought because of it. It's not as blatant as in main chat and you don't actually get to see anything about them (other than appearance) unless you wilfully click on them; and even then they're clicked on because they're of interest in the first place.

Maybe just Wardrobe lions that people create and submit to a forum page that one of the Admins make, then they feature whatever they like.

@Kookie Wardrobe lions seems a bit odd. Why not just normal lions? Yes, they might be less impressive, but it gives everyone a chance. Also, let's be honest, not everyone has good taste in lions when it comes to the Wardrobe- I don't think the mods would want to put in a lion that was sloppily made or something. The forum idea is a good one, though. It would definitely prevent conflict and undesired featuring.

@blueyy Everyone's taste in lions is different some prefer lots of colors, others more plain and realistic, you may not like a plain NCL well someone else might adore them. Remember everyone's taste is different and that's fine no one's taste is bad.

@13th Nightmare I never said their taste was bad- at least I did not mean it that way. But it is as you said- everyone has different tastes. If you dont like lions that are really cluttered, and a cluttered wardrobe lion is shown on the front page now and then, it won't be the greatest thing. But a person who does like cluttered lions made it in the wardrobe and shared it. See where I'm going? I kinda lost my train of thought halfway through, so try to decode it

@blueyyy if it's through the wardrobe or owned lions there will still be great differences as some cluster lions will appear and some plain ones will appear. You see them for a few seconds so it doesn't really matter, no matter what your likely to have someone angry.

In Wardrobe aren't you limited in how many decors you can have anyway? You could get some badly layered decorations, but nothing I would personally consider 'cluttered'.

I can see why admins may prefer to have wardrobe lions submitted through a forum in much the same way as the Special Lioness designs are chosen. It doesn't leave the feature quite so open for people to abuse: You couldn't name or give a lion a description that was against the code of conduct this way, you couldn't advertise with it, the lion doesn't link back to you so you can't advertise its sale on your page either and it has to be pretty enough to be chosen (so lions that represent the site well will be the ones chosen).

I think submitting designed lions through a forum solves a lot of issues and doesn't require a lot of moderator time and effort should it be integrated in the game.
