Henlo! This is a brief little boop thread where i'm asking all of you artists and members out there how much you would pay for my traditional drawings. Here are some:

https://imgur.com/a/wRgTd

I'm still adding more to my examples as we speak, but my art will mostly consist of pencil/ink headshots/busts. It's harder to draw in ink (you know when you mess up while writing in pen? Yea) so a lot of them are in pencil right now. My unique concept is that I draw your characters in a realistic fashion, For example:

This (references that people send me):

To This (what I create for them):

I also can draw pretty much any other kind of animal. Except for straight up birds. Birds are weird and don't cooperate at the moment. So please tell me what you think, what you think you pay, and feel free to give me any advice for the future!

P/S: your opinion will enter you in a raffle for a free commission that ends on March 31st!

id say start of lower and raise prices as you go. like 5 gb for head shots, 8 or so half bodies etc but as you get more commissions up the price

Your art is absolutely great, for the earings and shirt they blend in a bit too much and and a few other things. Making them stand out a bit more would maybe make them pop out more. But do keep up the great work!

@Fading Angel; thank you for for you appraisal!

@ambrosia; thank you, i'll definitely be starting lower since my art isn't digital or nearly perfect and have yet to be improved!

@Pink Paradise; Absolutely, thank you! There's only so much you can do with a No.2 pencil but i'll find a way to adjust my contrast! Hopefully any USD contributions will help me get more art supplies and thus create better art ^^

15gb (not that I can afford that but it's good)
Are you on devinart? I've seen the second one before/something very similar

My suggestion is try charcoal pencils, that's what I use and they're really great and pretty cheap ^-^

@Erin; Thank you for your appraisal! and no, I am not. Maybe they just looked similar? All my art comes from me and maybe a reference photo or two if i'm going for a specific facial feature (like noses which are incredibly difficult) I dont have a deviantart yet but i'll probably be starting one later.

@Pink Paradise; Will do! That's a good point, they're much darker as well. Cheap is a good thing too because last time my mom found out I was spending a little too much on paints and art supplies lmao. I'll keep an eye out next time I go shopping!

I'd say start your art from the first two examples ranged between 10-20 GB.
The last two examples should start at 20 GB, maybe 25 and go from there. (Start higher because they're more detailed and they take more time.)

Once you get more examples and art done, get some customers in, and of course you're going to get more experience the more art you do, then you should start nudging the prices up a bit.

I do think there's merit in keeping them low at first, then charging later, but I think you should be getting at least 10 GB to start with. 2 GB = $1 so following that you'd be selling for $5, and honestly it's worth more than that, so...

I would definitely say higher up in the GB art range for these. I would probably go with something like 15 GB to start with on headshots and if you plan on doing full bodies then those could go up to the 20-25 range and once you are established I would say raise the prices a bit and I think you could also get money from some USD commissions too! I absolutely love your art and I really wish I could draw like that!

I'd definitely agree that your artwork could go for 15-20 GB, it's beautiful and incredibly realistic.
I would also suggest to use charcoal pencils and or different pencils with the varying hardness and softness, such as 6B for really dark and 4B for semi dark, H and 2B for lighter tones, etc. They are relatively cheap and work very well for traditional realism pieces.
I wish you the best of luck with your artwork!

I do like your art! I think because it is realistic, it should go for 8GB for shaded headshot, 12 for shaded halfbody, and 20 for a shaded full body!
6 GB for not shaded HS
10 for not shaded Halfbody
and 18 GB for not shaded full! (If digital!)

Thank you all so much for your advice and opinions! They will all help me improve my art and i'm excited to share them all with members of lioden ^^ You have all been added to the raffle, and i'll put some extra love and care into the commission of whoever wins <3 I'm new to online art community but I hope to build on my skills with enough support and interest!

I'm honestly bad at pricing. Only because I go with what I can afford, since I feel bad when I can't afford really good art of my characters.

However I also feel that you shouldn't be under priced, I know how much that hurts since I'm constantly under priced myself. I'd probably agree with the 10 GB and up range considering the detail and such. I'd just go a little more if it was digital.

I agree! Dont worry, I’m bad at pricing too that’s why I made this thread! I would love to start doing digital art but I have yet to get a new tablet, but eventually I’ll be able to ad in digital art as well ^^
