About the Species:
Physique
Body:
Hildrhest have an equine-like anatomy. Their size vary from each individual to another but the average is about shire-horse height. They have strong legs to run fast and hit hard when needed. Their teeth are mainly carnivorus, both male and females wear tusks. While male Tusks are larger and stronger, the female ones are venomous. Their tounge is generally split and they posess 4 ears. Their eyes reflect the light in the dark. While both genders posess horns, Female ones tend to have more variation in shape.
Mane:
Short in most cases though some females grow longer manes.
Tail:
Hildrhest have different types of tails. The Battle type, the Equine type, or hybrids of both. Males tend to be born with the battle type and females with the Equine type. In rare cases the tail types switch.
Hooves/Claws
Hildrhest hooves are special. They can unsheathe them just like cats do, causing them to split into sharp, Claw like structures. This allows them to grab and injure their prey and enemy's
Diet:
Hildrhestrae are Omnivorus, They tend to hunt through the winters and eat berry's grasses, roots, and vegetables through the summer
Form/Shapeshifting
Hildrhestrae have two different forms.
Common Form [Feral]
King/Queen Form [Taur]
A young Hildrhest will change forms a lot. As they get older though, the amount of shift changes will decrease until they stay in their final form. While most Hildrhestrae remain in their Feral form, in some rare cases one contains a gene that allows them to permanently stay in their King/Queen form. Those Hildrhests are usually known to be great Leaders
Life And Society
Average Lifespan 80-100 Years
Society:
Hildrhestrae live in tribes that usually consists of 10-30 members.
King/Queen and Common Hildrhestrae live a symbiotic life, supporting each other in different tasks of life. While King and Queen Hildrhests tend to work in different crafts like cooking, arts, music, and forging, feral ones take the task of battle, protection, building, hunting, and messaging between tribes.
A young Hildrhest will stay at his hometribe until its training is over. Depending on the type, their training consists of fighting, forging, cooking, caring for young, hunting, climbing, and other crafts and arts. After it's training is completed, wich is usually decided by either the Tribe or their Spiritual leader and occurs at an average age of 15, they leave their hometribes to either find a partner, to start a new tribe, or to join another tribe wich fits their individual needs more.
Clothing
Hildrhestrae are exelent Blacksmiths, and fighters, wich leads them to often wear Armor or Leather clothes they produce. Some Queen/King Hildrhests have been spotted wearing regular human clothes though
