[Sorry for off topic Original Poster! ..semi off topic?]

Running a website is something that generally isn't inexpensive. Between paying coders and artists for their hard work, keeping servers running, hours spent daily on content creation (which takes away from full time jobs or adds onto work to their day ontop full time jobs. assuming this isn't their full time job), domain name fees, bug fixing, and peace keeping. Its gotta be expensive to keep a website like lioden running.

Then there is the fact that the lioden team is working on another website for a wolf game like Lioden. Which, start up for that highly anticipated website will likely be funded by some of lioden's proceeds ...I'm assuming.

Not to mention, Lioden is currently ad free. You dont have to watch a video every 5 minutes about something you're not interested in. They could easily add ads to gain funding - but that would be horrible for us players.

So gimmics may be needed in other months too :) just to make sure Lioden stays up and running as well as keeping the staff motivated.

Also for all we know they donate money from other monthly events as well if they make a bit extra.

I fully understand why so many are getting frustrated though, when it comes to rare event drops. it's a bit like being caller number 2 when trying to win some tickets from the radio, when you needed to be caller number 9.

The randomness and rarity makes it kinda fair in my eyes, i mean it doesnt matter if you spend money or not, or if you're a new or old player, if you're online for hours or just five minutes. With the low odds of finding the rare event drops everyone is on an even playing field. Everyone has the same odds :)

i mean yeah, that's understandable, varric, but when another event like this comes out I won't be spending any money on the site.

there are plenty of other ways to increase profits other than really bad rng events.

@Varric, while it is off topic, I believe that the state of the site can be included with this discussion including the way RNG events are handled. While I am all for supporting the site, I believe there needs to be a healthy relationship in terms with the devs and the players. With this event, its honestly... questionable?

I need to do more of my own research to form my own opinion.

Lol, my boy (Keeping him in character) thinks the shaman is a bloody coward for not paying him respects via a visit into his lands. He just does whatever he usually does, not giving a flying a monkey balls but he wants the 'visitor' to at least show some tact and greet him if he's in his lands XD

Fredbear i see as always taking his time and marking his terf and leting all know he lives there while he has certain members with him for gathering supplies and materials for things.

So I’m gunna post my findings (don’t judge me ok).

So I walked 40,000 on energy roots ALONE. I’m not including lambs, natural energy, in game event energy etc etc and not one shaman encounter.

So if we’re just going on that alone, it’s somwhere between 40,001-49,999.
Either way I’m good. No more roots for me since I’ve lost interest. Hope it helps someone else though.

So I was wondering just how many Ferus Babes there are in the game... Just thought I'd share this..
There's 300 Ferus lions in the game, which means of our 171,732 members. 300 people have one or some maybe a few. Now I know not all of these people are active but still. Thats a lot of members and not a lot of Ferus, or encounters with the Shaman.

If they piss of the player base, isnt that like killing the golden goose?

There is more than one way to fleece the playerbase, RNG is not a good business model if they intend to retain players.

It seems like everyone needs a ferus. And it's true. Sorry but I don't know the chances, but just saying, the ferus trend will be over soon, I guess, so NO worries!

Yesterday I stopped bothering trying for it. I bought 3 roots so not as many as some people but still, spent SB on Hyena butter...a lot of SB. I levelled up once during this so...yay 100 free energy. I started as soon as this event went live.

I've got nothing. I've walked roughly 75,000 steps. So I'm just gonna go back to playing this game normally. I've seen some Ferus cubs drop to 85GB yesterday so maybe they will drop in price some more and some of us won't have to spend ridiculous amounts of GB for one eventually.



Long story short, I don't like RNG mechanics (which I've started seeing this site do more of) because of how it hypes a bunch people up and only a small number will "win".

Over the last year, Lioden has ramped up efforts to promote RNG as a good thing and get people really excited. Its sad to see such a fun and exciting game turn to the RNG model.
