so i've had this account since 2015, but i only just now actually picked it up and have started looking around for what the endgame of lioden is? i think it's pretty apparent that it's to breed the fanciest, rarest lions possible haha.

i want to get in on that! but i'm not really educated in what a "good way" / the "right way" to handle your lions is when it comes to breeding and i guess it extends to applicators??

how precious/rare are they? do you hold onto yours, or do you just apply them to whatever lion you think looks cool with it on, regardless of how old they are, etc? are they crucial in your personal breeding plans? what is the non-newbie "proper" use of applicators if your goal is to get big fancy lions? do they play a big part in the "endgame"?

i'd love to hear your opinions and just.. how about you go about handling them because i was just about to slap three applicators (unholy/unholy/possession) on my guy and i feel somewhere that might have been a mistake LOL

Personally I think it depends on the applicator. Some players like to hold onto them to use for heirs or on their lionesses, and a lot like to hold onto the applicator to sell in future months, when the price will go up.

I hold onto mine personally, because I never know when I might need them. I try to hold on until the month is about to roll around again and sell them just before when they're at their peak price.

Some applicators hold value, such as Ardor and Ice for example. And some don't; i.e. Brimstone, Locust.

Honestly, it depends! The "end goal" of Lioden is whatever you want it to be. Some like to do big breeding challenges for super rare bases (which are even more special than applicator- since many must be bred for, rather than applied), some (like me) breed and raise GB to obtain the rarest collection of mutations (I have a first gen gon ((trying to get a first gen pon next February at the soonest)), a few lethals ((deaf, cyclopia, extra limbs)) and many more mutations either frozen, or waiting in my dynasty). Some breed for the highest stats, or the 'cleanest' pride- some don't even bother with prides much anymore and enjoy just playing whatever new challenge comes their way for their king.

Applicators are 'rare' bases, often since you can only find applicators in certain conditions, either in specific months (like, in this month, the Tefnut Temple or whatever has the demiurge applicator), certain weather (flood pit apps), though a difficult quest (interstellar + more to come eventually, I assume they'll make a quest for Solaris eventually since it's a similar 'RNG' dependent app)

Personally, if I have a base that I want to put on a specific lion that's important to me, then I use it, especially if it's a heir that I want to have a special base, or maybe a frozen lion that I plan on keeping forever. Otherwise, I typically sell them or don't bother to get them until I might need them next year.

Hope that help! Have fun... lioden-ing! PM me if you have any questions, I'd be happy to help.
