D&D is basically THE BEST RPG you will ever play.
You go on adventures, fight monsters, discover ancient secrets, find treasure, etc. Your DM makes up the storyline for the adventure, but it’s also largely determined by your character’s actions. For example, in the campaign I’m DMing right now, there is this demon lord I made up called Valoh’Khai, an albino Kenku who was cast into the abyss for crimes, blablabla, rose to power, you get it. Anyway, she’s got her servant, another Kenku trying to persuade the players who know nothing of Valoh’Khai that she is looking for an allegiance. If the characters say yes, she tries to take them to Val as prisoners and stuff so Val can take these really powerful weapons that they found (it’s a really long story). If they say no, Val sends her demons to destroy the village that they are currently staying at, slaying one of the character’s families.
But you can also throw in a bunch of other stuff to spice things up and make it interesting, and it doesn’t even necessarily need to have everything to do with the plot line of the entire adventure. So just to make it fun, I’m probably going to throw in a couple of Winterwolves and an Incubus 😈. My friends are going to hate me lmao

It’s an RPG that uses dice as a deciding factor. For example if you were to attack someone or something you would roll a die to see if you hit. You’d have to roll higher then their dexterity stat and you can pass or fail a hit. If you do hit you roll a different kind of dice to determine how much damage you’ve done.

Hey guys! I'm really excited to be in a group where we can talk about DnD- I'm playing a Lv. 3 Druid in my current campaign, our party doesn't really have a frontline fighter (I've only played 5e a few times but I've noticed that it's not really reliant on party balance) so I'm trying to tank by wildshaping a lot.

Druids are pretty good tanks when they need to be, especially if you’ve got a bear form. Right now my character in my main campaign is a lvl 4 or 5 Kenku bard. He’s actually kind of badass not gonna lie haha

My favorite character is my Teifling Rogue (ik, super obvious choice) but she’s amazing. EXEPT for the fact that my DM made us ROLL TO SEE IF OUR CHARACTERS GET SEASICK, and I rolled a natural one, so apparently now she can’t even go on a rowboat without puking her guts out over the side.

I need campaign advice: so... right now one of the characters in my campaign had a visit from a Succubus in a dream, but should I or shouldn’t I add this:
The Succubus is Asexual, and wants nothing to do with what her kind normally does. She’s afraid to speak up about it though because she knows that if any other Incubi/Succubi knew they would torture and rape her. And then to top it all off, she falls in love with the creature who’s soul she is supposed to be corrupting. So I was thinking eventually making her an NPC who joins the players group and helps them defeat the demon lord they are supposed to be fighting. And one more thing, when she cries, her own tears burn her like acid because her kind are not meant to feel remorse/sadness etc. Also, she has BAD ptsd thanks to all the horrors she has witnessed.
So, good idea or terrible idea, what do you think?

I like that idea! It makes for an interesting campaign and the character herself sounds awesome! I’d definitely leave out some of the info at least in the beginning so the group learns about her as the story progresses. If you could tie in her lover to the plot it could work really well.
