Ah, that's very interesting! She does tend to lag behind the other girls but other than that and the occasional cough there's no sign that anything sinister is going on. Hopefully this damn lockdown is eased off soon, then we can take them to see the people we got them from. Thanks for the information!

One of my chickens, Nougat, died this morning. I'm not sure why. She looks like she died comfortably atleast? I think it was in her sleep.
Yesterday there was a small flood here. She got wet. They all did. I dried them off and locked them up in the coop, but maybe I should have done more. I don't know.

I'm Osleya, but I also go by Cas. I am a somewhat new owner with 5 hens that are 9 months old right now which are my first chickens. I have 1 black silkie, 1 barred rock, 1 blue ameraucana, and 2 rhode island reds. I have them mainly for fun and a little for the eggs, but I do not breed them and none will be used for meat. The larger hens have all been laying for a few months now, but my silkie just started laying the cutest little eggs this week. My ameraucana, Linda, is probably the sweetest of the flock. When I am sitting outside she often comes up and jumps on my lap to snuggle. She is also the only one of the bigger hens that doesn't bully my little silkie, Lucy.

They're pretty cute, all are black, two with the classic wyandotte white ringlets (but slightly subdued and a little more grey than pure white, and flecked around the rear end). Of the other two, one looks almost pure Barnevelder and the other a pretty gold version of her! They are little weird little clones of my (purebred) Barnevelder hen, though she seems mighty displeased c':
