hi there!
i'm looking to make some lioden icons but there's a problem for me
i understand that your image must fit into a 150x150 pixel restriction but i can't seem to make any appealing art on a 150x150 canvas..
any tips on resizing an image while keeping a good quality or advice on how you make a tiny file look great?

thank you to all artist who decide to respond and honestly, anything helps!

so i did the icon for this account! and my biggest tip is to zoom in to a 150x150 canvas and use the smallest brush you can, and just go at it like it's normal size.

if that still doesn't work, do a canvas of size 1500x1500 or something with the same proportions and draw then icon, then scale it down. large to small generally keeps good quality.

what program are you using?

Hi! I don't normally draw at a 150x150 canvas - I do 512x512 then scale it down to 150x150. It works up to a point, for example if your canvas 3000x3000 you might run into trouble but generally speaking as long as it's around or under 1000x1000 it should be fine.

For resizing images I recommend lunapic. It's hard to resize images without losing quality, as to whether you make a smaller image bigger or vise versa, you're essentially telling the image to "make up" pixels or "get rid of" pixels that would be detailing the picture when it was the proper size. Your best bet is trying not to do too many details on the image you're trying to use/use really clean lines for lining, etc. As stated above it's better to use dimensions that are already close to 150x150 then resize it down to the 150x150. I hope this makes sense!

I personally use 1000x1000 so it's a pretty even cut down if the user who commissioned it wants to put it down to 150x150. It's quite large though so I recommend something a little smaller, as long as it's the same for height and width. Ex: 500x500 or 650x650.
