wow, another suggestion about fodder from me. who would have thought. since you're here, check out my gorilla enclave rework. it's pretty cool.

anyway, onto the suggestion.

THE COLLECTOR
"You have lions... yes? Lions you do not want, yes? I want them. I want your unwanted lions. I will provide them a home, food, and safety, and you will just give me the lions. Does this make sense to you, [NAME]?"
You nod.
"Good. That is very good, good for The Collector. Today, I want lions with [ATTRIBUTE]. No other shape. You understand. You must understand, yes?"
You nod. Again.
"Great! Great, good. Now go, go bring me a lion with [ATTRIBUTE]!"

That right there is the intro scene to the new NPC that is central to this suggestion, The Collector. The Collector is a mandrill with a strange fascination for lions, and he wants to build his very own pride. In order to do that, he is asking kings around the lands to part with lions they may not want. Every day, his preferred attribute changes. It can be anything from eye colors, to markings, to skin colors, or even base genetics! He, however, will never ask for common or custom level things, such as the non-exclusive markings you find on NCLs or can apply with oasis apps. List of things he can ask for in the spoiler.

In order to give players proper incentive to part with their beloved adult lions, he gives rewards. He gives Claw Sheaths, his very own currency that's unique to The Collector's Booth, where he sells wares he's found on his adventures, but he also gives the same rewards as the Gorilla.
As well, if you do enough consecutive quests, you may get an additional decor, only obtainable from The Collector! This chance would trigger every 30 days.

Now, what's in The Collector's Booth, you ask? He'll share a few items with the Gorilla Enclave, namely any items like Lion Meat, Yohimbe Barks, and the Referral Applicators. He'll also have his own set of unique marking applicators, but I've yet to decide what markings they would be. Perhaps colored Vitiligo markings to mirror the Gorilla Enclave's Feline apps? He could also take any 'retired' apps we may end up having, saying he found them on his journey. As well, much like his Gorilla Rival (the Gorilla does not agree that they are rivals, and instead just asks The Collector to please stay as far away from them as possible, restraining order pending), The Collector has his very own unique decor AND backgrounds. As for retired raffle backgrounds, I'd prefer if he received the next set of retired backgrounds, or maybe half of the current retired backgrounds in the Gorilla can be given to The Collector. Since he's called The Collector, his decors don't necessarily have to have a specific theme, as if he sees something shiny, he's likely going to take it back. He'll also have his own beetles, though I haven't decided what they'll be. Likely anything shiny.

Now, for the limits on The Collector. He will not accept heritageless lions, to keep people from accidentally foddering groupies or to keep people from trying to farm NCLs with what he wants. As mentioned earlier, he will only accept adult lions, those who are two or older, he may have an upper limit on the age, but it wouldn't be extraordinarily restrictive like the Gorilla Enclave. I'm currently thinking 2 years to 8 years. He also has difficulty tiers, similar to the gorilla, and even has a Difficulty+ where he will request any mutated lion.

As for all of this, I'm open to suggestions from you guys! An adult fodder system with rewards is a thing the community desperately needs, as we don't have enough lion sinks. This means prices for lions keep falling, and since lions are cheaper, so are the items we used to breed them. This sends the entire economy on a downward spiral, one that soon, won't be recoverable. I think a lion sink for adults is one of the first ways to handle this.

NEARLY 3 YEAR LATER EDIT:
The reason he's banned from asking for common and custom markings is because they're just not that popular. Tier 0 markings are basically only on NCLs, and very view people apply them to their kings. Tier 1 markings are the exact same story, for example, Noctis Cover has 8,500 lions with it as of this edit while Noctis Pelage has over 9,000 lions with it in a singular slot. I promise you guys I'm not excluding them because I hate app marks, but because by allowing The Collector to ask for them does nothing to help our current overpopulation problem because Tier 0 and Tier 1 marks are not the ones flooding the economy. This also goes for Mane Colors, as I'm sure you've all gotten a quest from the Gorilla for a cub with a Custom Mane only for no cubs with that mane on TC.

I still stand by my statement that lions won't sell but it's way worse now. I could at least sell my gen 3 specials for 5 to 10 gb... but now I can hardly get them to sell for 500 sb.

Support, but I'm not sure about adding Tier 2 Markings on the List.
There are plenty of Vitiligos for example, I don't think many would be sad if a few of them will get yeeted into the abyss, but if he asks for a lion with Bushveld Siamese, it would maybe even accelerate the extinction of a few Tier 2 Marks, who are very hard to get in the first place.
Maybe he can only ask for Markings with an established population of uhh, idk 200 lions (maybe more or less?)
This probably wouldn't entirely stop the chance of Rare Slot Markings being sacrificed, but it was just a thought I had.
