Meadowstar | 40 Moons | She-cat | Leader | Location: Forest | Mentions: Hailstar, Whisperstar

(@SIlverstar
I'm just adding Whisperstar in, if you have the time you're welcome to jump in though! c:)

Meadowstar looked up from her grooming as Hailstar approached her, not long after followed by Whisperstar. The corner of her lip lifted up slightly in a humorous smirk, a gesture mostly done as to not appear rude after hearing Hailstars words. Under any other circumstances, Meadowstar surely would have been amused by the others light-hearted humor, however she had too many things weighing down on her mind.

"Yes, I wanted to speak to the both of you about something very important, and I can't put it off any longer." She lowered her voice, and leaned closer to the other leaders. She didn't want her words overheard by any nearby cats "I've been wondering about whether or not this territory is the right place for us to be. It seemed it at first, with plentiful prey and a sheltered forest. But we were all so desperate to find someplace to call home, and to feel some sort of normalcy, that we overlooked its serious flaws." She paused, thinking over her next words carefully.

"There is the issue with the large number of foxes and badgers living in the area, and that alone is bad enough, but one of my warriors came to me last night with some unsettling news. She and another warrior came back to camp last night with some injuries, and explained to me that they had gone to two-leg place." She kept the names of these warriors private. She wouldn't directly tell the other leaders which of her warriors had disobeyed orders, but their wounds could not be kept a secret, and she was sure they would find out sooner or later. "And before either of you say anything, I scolded them both fairly." She stared hard into Hailstars blue eyes, and did the same to Whisperstars unusual two colored orbs. She wasn't sure how either of them would react now that all leaders shared authority. While Meadowstar didn't mind sharing responsibilities for the most part, she didn't however, want the other leaders scolding her warriors.

"But they reported being attacked by a couple rogues. They handled them pretty well, however they both suffered semi-serious injuries, and my warrior said that she thought she picked up multiple cats scents, and that they could be a real threat, if there were more of them." She took a deep breath, not knowing how they would react to what she was about to suggest. "That is obviously one more threat we can not afford to deal with, and now that the rogues have our scent, how long do you think it will be before they attack us? I think we should travel, and find a more suitable place to live. There are just far too many dangers here!"

(Sorry it's sooo long xD)

Hollowstep| 67 Moons | Female | former ShadowClan medicine cat| Location: Inside Camp | Mentions: Wolfbreeze, Drizzleface [Indirectly]

She looked around- she had seen almost every part of the camp by now, along with a good portion of the territory. "It's not bad." she spoke after a moment or two. "It's...unfamiliar and messy, but it serves its purpose." She didn't have many thoughts about it either way- but looking back to Wolfbreeze she realized the other cat was opening up to her. There was no reason to shut them down- and maybe some cats who trusted her would be good to have. "This could become a very good camp, I must admit- it has some real potential."

Hailstar| 74 Moons | Male | former RiverClan leader| Location: Camp | Mentions: Whisperstar, Meadowstar

The serious way Meadowstar was acting made his face go more solemn- something was going on, and he had a feeling it was something not to joke about. Did more cats die? was his first thought when faced with the issue. Do we need more cats? Are the numbers getting even lower? It was worrying to think about, and he hoped she would tell him what was going on as soon as possible.

Listening to her as she went on, the tip of his tail rapidly twitching as she spoke, eventually he started to relax as she shared the actual reason for the meeting. It wasn't amazing- but it was at least better than their ranks becoming even worse. Trying to put his leaderly persona back up he stood tall, looking straight into her eyes.

He could tell Meadowstar wasn't used to being one of three leaders, treating them as if they were deputies- he didn't feel as if he was on the same rank as them. And he was, he had the 'star title and the gift from the ancestors and the experience that made him deserve his rank as much as they did.

"I heard about the fox attack." he said, giving her a nod. "While we didn't lose any warriors and we have enough medicine cats left to deal with it, it's still not good to live in a spot with that many threats." The scolding of the cats didn't bother him- as long as they didn't put them at immediate risk, he wouldn't get involved with Meadowstar's old warriors. "These rogues- now that they know we may be weak, they could want to take something out of us... That's not good. Likely we should send more patrols out to make sure they don't start encroaching on our territory." He believed the borders were already well marked- although it was nothing at all like the strong borders they had back when there were five clans and not the one. "As for the foxes and badgers, nothing we can do about that."

He thought about the idea of moving- would it really be a good idea to move an already vulnerable group to a new place, even further from recognizable spots? "The entire group may not be suited for travel at the moment, especially due to our recent injuries. Sending groups of cats out to scout for new land would be the best way to go about things."

Meadowstar | 40 Moons | She-cat | Leader | Location: Forest | Mentions: Hailstar, Whisperstar

"Yes, extra border patrols sounds like a good idea." Meadowstar nodded, a rush of relief overcoming her, now that she knew Hailstar also saw the problems this land had. It took a lot of worry off her shoulders, knowing she wasn't the only one who thought this.

"I agree. The group is too weakened to travel right now, but sending out scouting groups sounds like a perfect solution. By the time they return with news, surely everyone would have healed by then." A sensible solution to their problems had formed. But what would the others think? "Will everyone agree that we should move though? We'll need the support of all our warriors for this." They'd had no choice to move from their previous home. Now given a choice, would they be reluctant to travel again?

Upon going over the idea of sending out scouting parties, Meadowstar began to wonder, what would they be sent out to look for? There was no where near enough cats to fill the five clans again. So they had no specific type of land to look for. Something for cats of all the clans, like this forest had to offer? But would they all remain as one group forever? She missed Shadowclan, and although she didn't mind sharing duties, she missed having her own clan.

At least for now, she figured they should focus on convincing their warriors it was best to move to new territory. "Should we call a meeting later today to see what everyone thinks?"

Drizzleface | 32 Moons | She-cat | Medicine Cat | Location: Med Den | Mentions: None (OPEN)

A huge field appeared to Drizzleface, seeming to be covered in a thick fog. She couldn't see clearly, but could make out the shapes of several cats. They looked to all be traveling in a group. What am I seeing? Drizzleface knew that this many cats had not all escaped the Dark Forest together, and she had no idea why they'd all be traveling together.

Suddenly the foggy landscape lit up as lighting struck down from the sky, hitting the center of the group. At first Drizzleface was horrified. It must have killed so many cats! She longed to rush to their aid. But as she looked closer, none of the cats appeared to be injured. They all must have leaped out of the way in time. But how? Now, they were all standing in two distinct groups. A large gap of burnt grass sat between them, where the lighting had struck.

Drizzleface was pulled from her dreams by the sound of cats chattering. Her nest was nearest to the den entrance, and a couple warriors must have passed by it. Her eyes took a moment to adjust, her vision blurry for a few moments. The dream was still fresh in her mind, and she had trouble remembering where she was for a moment. As she became more aware, she rose to her paws, and gave her back a long stretch. She stepped out of her nest, stretching each back leg as she lifted it out. Beginning to pad across the den, the dainty she-cat made the short distance to the entrance, and slipped out.

A thin drizzle fell from the sky, but she didn't take much notice of it. Her mind was still on her dream. There was something about it that she just couldn't shake off. It had felt...real. She found her paws leading her to the fresh kill pile, recently stocked by the mornings hunting patrol. Without giving it much thought, she grabbed a mouse by its thin tail, and returned to the medicine den.

Halfheartedly she began to pick at the prey, eating small little mouthfuls. The dream played on repeat through her mind. If only she'd been able to see those cats faces. Then she'd at least know who they were! It had seemed so real, but there's no way no one would have been hurt by that lightning. She let out a sigh. It was probably just a strange dream. Although she'd hoped it was a message from Starclan, she didn't get the feeling that usually accompanied Starclan dreams. Why would they start sending messages now anyway? They've been silent for so long.

Wolfbreeze | 26 moons | Female | Warrior | Location: Camp | Mentions: Hollowstep

Wolfbreeze nodded, glancing around. "Yeah! Maybe if we moved the warrior den over there...or added a few more brambles to the wall, or covered the elder den a bit better...this place could be amazing!" she smiled at Hollowstep. It felt nice to just...chitchat. For once. No serious tone, no angry words, not for a job or anything. Just for...fun. It'd been a long time since she'd just spoken for fun.

"So, what's it like, with the other medicine cats and apprentices? Does it feel strange? I know it's kinda strange to me, having all these other cats that used to be my enemies in the same den as me. I even fought some of these cats before, in fights between clans or boarder skirmishes...and now I'm hunting for them!" She gazed at Hollowstep. "I mean- not that I have any issue with cats from other clans. It's just....strange."

Hollowstep| 67 Moons | Female | former ShadowClan medicine cat| Location: Inside Camp | Mentions: Wolfbreeze, Drizzleface [Indirectly]

She followed Wolfbreeze's gaze as the warrior pointed to the dens in turn, giving a small nod after everything she said. "The warrior den should just need some more plants for reinforcement- it looks rather bad with all those holes in the side. The elder's den should be fine, but the apprentice's den?" She shook her head. "That one needs some real work." Her voice stayed calm the entire time, not as enthusiastic as the warrior was- yet not with her usual hostility.

She shrugged. "The other apprentices are fine, they tend to stick with their mentors and all that. Of course it feels strange not being the only medicine cat- and I believe some of us"- she narrowly resisted looking backwards at Drizzleface- "aren't used to having more than one of us yet." She had never fought any of the cats here, and she had a feeling Wolfbreeze knew that- after all, she wasn't a warrior and had never had to fight on the front lines. She had seen them at the Gathering- The Gathering? What will that be now? before, but that was the most of their interaction.

Hailstar| 74 Moons | Male | former RiverClan leader| Location: Camp | Mentions: Whisperstar, Meadowstar

"Even if we don't decide to move, there's never harm in extra patrols." Hailstar said with a small nod of his head. "I'm surprised we didn't already have those going the instant we got here- it feels like an oversight on our part." Looking behind him, he continued- "Maybe we wouldn't have run into the foxes if a patrol had caught them first. Yes- we should send out extra patrols as soon as possible."

Turning back to Meadowstar, he tapped his tail on the ground a few times, looking towards Whisperstar before continuing. "A scouting party can at least tell us where to start. We would have no idea where to go if we just all set out right now. As for agreement..." He shook his head. "They won't all accept it, and I would guess a lot of them would resist. But we're the leaders and our word goes, and we know we need to leave. As long as things don't get too bad and they at least go along with what we do..." He really hoped this wouldn't go terribly wrong, oh how he hoped! "A meeting just to introduce the ideas and announce the patrols should happen. We can split the announcements so it appears that we all agree to the move."

Honeystream | 34 moons | She-cat | Warrior | Location: Med. Den | Mentions: Drizzleface (directly)

The grey-and-white long haired she cat had awoken from a short nap after a short patrol before the sun awoken. She woke to the smell of fox. She scrunched up her face and furrowed her brows. ' I wonder what that is ,' she knew exactly what the smell indicated and could only hope nothing drastic had occurred. She shook her long pelt and stepped out from under the large branch she had take refuge under. The sky was drizzling and the sky was filled with an ominous and monotone sky. 'Perhaps starclan is weeping', she thought to herself as she scanned the sky. Her attention was turned to the medicine cat, Drizzleface as the younger cat had picked out a piece of prey, almost sulkily, then returned to her den. Honeystream cocked her head, but didn't shout for the medicine cat. Instead, the warrior took a piece of prey for herself from the pile. The pile had looked like it was stocked in the early hours, but has been depleting in large amounts.

Honeystream plucked a single, plump water vole from the pile and padded over to the medicine cat den. Once she arrived, she caught a glimpse of Drizzleface, taking small chunks out of her food and seemingly dazing off. "I'm coming in Drizzleface", Honeystream announced. Once she arrived, she settled herself next to the medicine cat. "Good evening," the older warrior said softly, "You must have a lot on your mind. It seems Starclan is weeping on us". Honeystream was not careful about her views on Starclan. If someone disagreed, so be it, every cat has their right to their beliefs.

Wolfbreeze | 26 moons | Female | Warrior | Location: Camp | Mentions: Hollowstep

Wolfbreeze nodded. "Yeah...I do hope we can split into our old clans again sometime soon...though I wonder....there isn't many cats the dark forest left alive. I mean, a leader's dead, too. And many deputies. IF we DO split back to our clans, will some clans only have two cats? That's my worry. And besides, we're not the same cats anymore. We've....grown. Some of us have changed our minds completely, turned out backs on StarClan. It worries me. Will there ever be RiverClan, WindClan, ThunderClan, SkyClan and ShadowClan again?" She let out a small sigh. "Sorry- I'm rambling." She shuffled her paws nervously.

"I'm just worried that nothing will ever be the same."

Whisperstar | 83 moons | she-cat | former WindClan leader | location: camp | mentions: Meadowstar, Hailstar, Hawkstone

Whisperstar listened carefully to the other two leaders, nodding approval at the suggestion of extra patrols. Perhaps Hawkstone's leg woudn't have been sprained if the foxes had been discovered earlier. The cream-furred tom was improving, and - thank StarClan - his leg hadn't become infected, but any warrior lost in these times was a problem, especially a warrior as strong as Hawkstone.

She spoke up for the first time since the meeting started. "Moving is a good plan, but what do we do with the cats who can't move? Elders, kits, the injured? The warrior code makes those cats a priority, and even if we aren't in our old territories anymore, warriors protect their own. Goldenflame's kits can't even leave the nursery yet, Hawkstone's leg is still sprained, and Cloudeyes is blind. Not to mention the plentiful herbs and prey that we'd be leaving behind." Whisperstar paused, more for effect than anything. "If we leave, how will we guarantee our survival?"

(haHA i got a post out after all!)

Kestrelpaw | 11 moons. | Tom | Med. Cat Apprentice | Location: Camp
Mentions: N/a, Open.

Kestrelpaw could feel exhaustion gnawing at his tired limbs as he followed behind the large group of cats. Some seemed familiar, but when he tried to identify them their features muddled together into a blur. With each step he seemed to fall further and further behind, eventually finding no one at his side. "W-wait for me!" He called out, struggling to run after the group but finding himself not able to move. Looking down, he found the earth had softened and grabbed onto his paws.

He struggled, eventually freeing himself from the mud. Stumbling over his paws, he began sprinting to catch up with the group. Suddenly the earth that had trapped him began to crumble away into darkness. He leapt to one side, watching in horror as a massive crack split through the soil towards the other cats. 'This can't be happening, they need to move!' He raced to warn them, only to stop dumbfounded as the cats calmly stepped to each side of the crevice. "No! Where are you going? You can't leave!" He called out to no one in particular, ears lying back as the cats on the other side slowly faded away into a shroud of mist.

Kestrelpaw jolted away from his restless dream, heart pounding in his chest. He was still tucked away safely in the curve of a root, the comfiest place he had been able to find the night before. "Oh. It was only a dream.." He mumbled to himself, glancing out of his nest towards the rest of camp. 'I need to tell someone.'

Meadowstar | 40 Moons | She-cat | Leader | Location: Forest | Mentions: Hailstar, Whisperstar

As Meadowstar listened to Hailstar speak, she wasn't sure she agreed with the white tom entirely. She hated forcing her warriors into situations in which not everyone agreed. Yes she was leader, but she wanted all her cats happy. This was a huge decision that would forever impact the cats, and she was determined that each of her warriors would be OK with the decision. She kept her opinions to herself, not seeing the need to bring up a needless argument. She knew she had a different style of leadership than others.

As Whisperstar joined in, Meadowstar turned her attention towards the other she-cat. She brought up a good point. What would they do with the cats that couldn't travel? "The kits can be carried. We have enough warriors for that. And the injured and elderly can be supported by other warriors." Growing uncomfortable in the position she'd been in, she shifted slightly, moving her tail so it now rested beside her. "We can always take breaks if they begin to fall behind. It might be hard, but as long as they are willing, leaving is better than staying here, waiting for the next attack. But if the scouts don't find anywhere suitable, perhaps we won't have a choice."

Drizzleface | 32 Moons | She-cat | Medicine Cat | Location: Med Den | Mentions: Honeystream

Drizzleface smiled as Honeystream approached, quickly swallowing the bite of mouse in her mouth. "Hello Honeystream." The company of the other seemed to pull the medicine cat back to the real world, and out of her dream. "It is a dreary day out today." She looked out the entrance of the den, thin rain still falling. A few drops of rain still clung to her pelt from her quick trip outside. "With everything that's been happened, I can see why Starclan would be weeping on us." She took another small bite of mouse. "Yes, I do have a lot on my mind. With the foxes, and so many cats injured, and of course I still can't stop thinking about the Dark Forest." She sighed, remembering the horrific battle, and all those who had lost their lives.

Suddenly feeling as if she might explode if she didn't get everything out, she began to spill out her thoughts and feelings that she'd kept to herself for so long. "And I can't help but wonder why Starclan have left us. I...I don't believe that they left us alone to battle the Dark Forest knowing they could have helped us, I mean, how could they?" She looked up at Honeystreams eyes, her own blue orbs filled with confusion. "Perhaps they weren't able to make a difference, and knew it." It was hard for Drizzleface to think that their ancestors had abandoned them. After all, she'd devoted her life to them, in interpreting their signs, and relaying their important messages. "And I had this dream, and I'd hoped it was from them. I wanted it to be so bad, but I can help but think it was just an ordinary dream." She remembered the large group of traveling cats, and the lightning strike that had separated the group, but hadn't caused any harm.

Suddenly embarrassed that she'd been throwing all her troubles on Honeystream, her gaze dropped to the ground. "I'm sorry, I-I got carried away."

Baywish | 18 Moons | Tom | Warrior | Location: Camp | Mentions: Minkleap

Baywish jolted awake, his heart beating a mile a minute, and his breathing coming in deep, short gasps. His green eyes were wide, and he looked around his den, confusion clouding his gaze. Realizing that nothing was wrong, and that he'd simply had a bad dream, the grey tom rested his head on his paws, focusing on calming down. He couldn't remember the details of his dream, only that he'd been running from something.

He shook his head to clear his thoughts, and sat up in his nest, opening his jaws in a massive yawn. He started to rise to his paws, but a dull pain in his leg stopped him. He turned his head to look at his back leg, suddenly remembering the previous days events. His leg had a large bite wound on it, and there was still some herbs stuck in the fur surrounding the torn flesh. It doesn't hurt nearly as bad as I thought it would though! He had full movement in the limb, and he could only feel a dull ache, which was easily to ignore.

"I'll be able to take Ivypaw out today!" He voiced his joy out loud, and rushed to the side of Minkleaps nest. His sister was still fast asleep. He paused, considering letting her sleep more, but he knew they had to clean the nursery before he could go out with Ivypaw. And there was no way he was doing the nursery by himself!

"Hey, Minkleap! Wake up!" He placed a paw on her brown shoulder, gently shaking her. "We have to clean the nursery! You don't want Meadowstar to find out you slept in, do you?

Minkleap | 17 moons | Female | Warrior | Location: Camp | Mentions: Baywish, Meadowstar, Echopaw, Ivypaw (Indirectly)

Minkleap had been murmuring in her sleep. "Lantern....paw....mmm....where.....going...." as Baywish woke her up, she grunted, eyes fluttering open. "Nnng, Baywish?" She yawned sitting up. "What? OH yeah, nursery, blech... " she stuck her tongue out, still a bit groggy as she stood up.

"Me? Sleeping in? Pffft, never!" She said jokingly, rolling her eyes as she smiled to Baywish. "Well then what're ya waiting for? Let's go, faster we start the faster we get it over with!" She trod toward the nursery, her nose wrinkling up at the stench. "Ick! The apprentices have been slacking big-time, it smells like this place hasn't been cleaned in MOONS!" Minkleap said dramatically. She knew the cats hadn't even lived there for more than a moon or two but that was Minkleap. Neve rbehind in the drama department.

"Oh yeah, we have to take Ivypaw and Echopaw out today too." She sighed. "Oops." She'd been falling behind in Echopaw's training. But what's a cat to do?

Hollowstep| 67 Moons | Female | former ShadowClan medicine cat| Location: Inside Camp | Mentions: Wolfbreeze

"I'm...not sure we have enough cats to split back up." Things would be weird if they split again- a lot of the cats got to know one another during their time back together, and she doubted clan loyalty would run as deep as it did before. How were you supposed to fight a cat you shared tongues with, or had a den with? The warriors were strong but deeply sentimental. "We lost a leader and a lot of the deputies. New cats would have to be appointed into those ranks. As for the clans..." She thought about her next words carefully- "We will never have five again. Two or three, depending on how our numbers grow over time. But it will take us ages to get back up to our old population. As For StarClan..." She knew she was a medicine cat, and they were supposed to have a connection with the stars and all that nonsense... "They haven't spoken yet, and as a medicine cat, I would know. If we form new clans and they stay silent, we can infer they turned their backs on us too."

Hailstar| 74 Moons | Male | former RiverClan leader| Location: Camp | Mentions: Whisperstar, Meadowstar

Whisperstar spoke for the first time, and he turned towards them to hear what they had to say. They did bring up a good point- it was always hard to move the elders and the kits- but if they managed to survive the fall, they could survive one last travel. Maybe they could leave the blood-tainted and Dark Forest-run lands behind. "The elders survived a lot more than we take them for." he spoke. "They should be able to keep up, and we can have our warriors assist them if they so need. The kits- we shouldn't leave right away, same for the injured. By the time cats are healed and the kits are grown enough to travel we should move." That sounded right to him- no need to carry newborn kits on a long, possibly treacherous path. "We can send out the scouts as we do so."

He had no idea what they would do if they found a new space. He could tell not all the leaders shared the way he ran things, and he could tell that some of the warriors and apprentices felt strange too. Splitting again would make things even worse- unless somehow for some reason more cats popped up. Any cats that survived the Fall were either with the group or had run off to become rogues- if they even made it that far. We look like a sorry bunch. Maybe the rogues are doing better off!
