The mutated spotted deer looked at the white snow with some disappointment showing on his face, it truly wasn’t what he was expecting to see. The scenario he had imagined he would see was a wonderful green forest with plenty of grass, trees and animals. Not this cold wintry landscape. Well, there were a lot of trees so he imagined that some wild animals would live there. His pit black eyes returned to the snow below his hooves, he raised one of his hooves and started digging until the dirt underneath the snow was visible. Eris’ pit black eyes kept leaking a non toxic black substance, it was very similar to petroleum, during the whole process of digging. Sometimes the black substance made him look like he was crying. His hoove stopped the moment the dirt entered his field of vision, a sigh left his mouth upon seeing that whatever patches of grass that were underneath the snow were all dormant and almost dead. The shaggy liver colored creature guessed that he wouldn’t eat grass, or anything that herbivores creatures eat, for a long time. At least he had the ability to consume meat, he wouldn’t die of starvation thanks for that.

He turned his head and looked at MidKnight, the creature who had opened the exit. “You aren’t wrong MidKnight, the best choice any of us could take is leaving this laboratory behind as soon as we can”, Eris turned his head to look at the laboratory he had lived his whole life in until this moment, “I believe that there still some of us that are still imprisoned or chained”.
“I don’t recall spotting Syrinx or Triplestrike during our escape. I’m pretty sure they can easily get out of their prisons by using their abilities, perhaps they are staying behind to battle some humans?”

The shaggy liver spotted deer returned his gaze to the creature who had wings. “Speaking about humans, I don’t think they will let us get away unscathed”, he calmly said, “It wouldn’t be a surprise if they tried to track us down and maybe capturing or exterminating us”. “Should everyone venture into the unknown as a big group with the aid of your wolves and our abilities? Or should each of us take our own different paths?”, the spotted deer asked.

“Oh, that’s true”, the mutated spotted deer said with a hum while looking at the leopard’s scales. Eris’ pit black eyes wandered to the trail of flame, it illuminated some of their surroundings on that cold night. The liver colored deer had thought that they wouldn’t have such a problem with Fritz’s cold blood since everyone had believed that outside would be more…warmer.

“Fire is one way to solve this problem but you would have to keep the fire feed as long as Fritz is alive”, the shaggy deer said, “At some moment the fire would die or you could be separated for reasons like something chasing you”. “That would result in Fritz freezing to death”, the liver colored sika deer explained. He turned his head and his eyes focused beyond the group of trees that weren’t so far from the laboratory. “Perhaps the pelt of an ordinary furred creature could serve as a coat?”, Eris suggested, “Fire could be a last resort since the smoke can attract humans once we are far from here”.

Fritz waited inside, now letting out a heavy sigh waiting for the pack of wolves to return with the fur. They looked back at the cells now turning back. `` Hey guys, i'm gonna look around if there's still more creatures inside of their cells. `` Fritz said now wondering off into a hallway. Their tail dragged along the floor, making a scratching noise since it was covered in scales. Fritz looked around , only seeing some empty rooms and cells. ` ` What am i supposed to do in the meanwhile . . hm` ` Fritz thought to themself while walking through the hallways. The squeaking noise of doors frightened Fritz, making them wander back.

They now started to scrabbled quickly to the entrance as they found nothing than a quiet and squeaky hallway. Fritz was too weak hearted to go alone in the hallways.

Eris tilted his head a little to the right and lowered his head towards the brown and grey pelts that once belonged to ordinary deer. Ones that weren’t experimented by humans and that did not suffer under their cruel hands. He approached his snout towards one of the pelts, sniffing the grey pelt with curiosity. The mutated sika deer could tell that he and the deer pelts didn’t belong to the same kind of deer. Eris is a liver colored shaggy buck with white dots on his back while the deceased hooved creature had brown fur and lacked the spots they once had in their first days of life. Unlike them, Eris’ species of deer did not lose their spots after having their first coat shed. His pitch black eyes observed the lifeless brown pelt for a short moment. It was the first time he had seen a hooved creature other than him, most of his fellow experiment creatures tilted more towards the carnivorous side.

The spotted creature lifted his head, averting his eyes from the pelt, and turned it to look at Frostbite. His ears perked up upon remembering which powers belong to the white feline-like creature. “Hey Frostbite, your abilities are ice-related right?”, the male sika deer said with a smile, “I think you’ll adapt quite well to this new and unknown land”. The hooved creature crouched down and laid on the snow, wanting to recharge more energy in whatever case he would have to run as fast as he could. “What do you think is waiting for us out there in this wintry biome?”, Eris asked Frostbite and MidKnight in an attempt to make small talk while waiting for the other experimented creatures to leave the laboratory when they were ready, “I think that there will be plenty of prey for you guys!”. “And hopefully, maybe if we walk for long enough we’ll eventually find a warmer place”.

"Yeah, I love it here!" The young she-cat answered enthusiastically "but I also wanna see a warmer place too! I've never been outside the lab before, and i really wanna see what it's like!" Her excited mew was rather high-pitched, but thankfully not loud enough for anyone inside the lab to hear
