Before we begin, I would like to state that this pride lore is for roleplay purposes only, as well as for my personal use. I ask that you please don't copy my pride lore to the exact letter; if my king has sired cubs that you now own, you're welcome to look through my pride lore & take notes if you wish to make your own pride lore, but please keep it original so everyone can have fun! Again you're all free to do whatever you want with your prides, I'm not gatekeeping any ideas, just don't want other accounts copying & pasting the pride lore from this thread. You're free to roleplay in the comments section, as long as its related to my pride & your own pride lore. A long time ago, there were 3 great prides, all which specialized in different kinds of lions. The Northern pride was called Jundo, a pride which practiced purity & spiritual healing. Jundo lions were often white, cream, light tan or dim gold in color, which represented a different level of standing within the pride; white lions were often the youngest, ranging from cubs to young adolescents who hadn't yet been trained in the ways of purity & spiritual healing. Cream colored lions were huntresses, only adult females had this color fur & were recognized by the whole pride. Light tan colored lions were adolescent males who were undergoing training to become shamans, the protectors of the pride & those which most practiced purity. They didn't fight battles using brute strength, but rather through spiritual connections. Finally, dim golden lions were the leaders of the pride; the eldest females & leading males were given this color as they aged, a sign of strength & wisdom, as well as spiritual value. These lions were the only lions which could contact the ancestors for advice. The Jundo pride had the most strict laws, and if broken a lion could be outcast & would lose their beautiful angelic colors, turning a dusty gray or even black. The second pride, the Southern pride, specialized in natural connections with animals. Like the Jundo pride, this pride was not fond of conflict & would avoid it at all costs; This was the Heiwa pride, the pride of peace. Unlike the Jundo pride, the Heiwa pride did not have very strict laws, and believed that each lion was an individual, free to do as he or she pleased, as long as it wasn't evil. The Eastern pride was a pride of colorful lions, ranging from pinks & blues to greens & yellows. Every lion had a different color, some lions had multiple colors, others were so full of color you could mistake them for a bird of paradise. The possibilities were endless; This was the Niji pride, the pride of brilliance. Lions from the Niji pride were not only colorful, but extremely intelligent as well. Like the Heiwa & Jundo prides, this pride also despised conflict, which made the 3 prides get along really well, despite their different opinions on law. Often, lionesses from all 3 prides would intermarry, keeping the bloodlines clean. However there was one pride that could never really agree with Heiwa, Jundo or Niji; the Western pride. This pride was made up of rouge lions who had been banished from their prides. This was the Akuma pride; the pride of hatred. The laws of this pride were extremely strict, so much so that if a rule was to be broken, it was punishable by death. These lions often had black or dark gray coats, with little to no color in them. They could not be reasoned with & would kill another pride lion any chance they got. One day, the Akuma plotted against the 3 great prides & stole from them a very precious gem; the Azayaka gem. This gem was renowned amongst the great prides, as it was able to heal almost anything; a broken leg, a torn muscle, or even a severed limb; thus allowing the prides to keep the peace between one another. However the Akuma despised the great prides for banishing them, so they stole the precious gem & placed it in the territory of the Jundo; the pride which was most arrogant & sought after the gem. Upon hearing the gem had been placed in Jundo territory, Heiwa & Niji confronted the Jundo pride, which claimed not to have known about it. This enraged both Heiwa & Niji, and they battled the Jundo pride for control of the gem. Most lions from the great prides turned evil, dawning black coats just as the Akuma did. After the great wars had ended & many lives were lost, only a few remained; 2 sisters from the Niji pride, Amai & Chisai, a female from the Heiwa pride named Nakidori, and a young male from the Jundo pride who called himself Kohi; the Akuma were still lurking in the darkness, ready to pounce at any moment, so the 5 young lions banded together to form the Iro Azayaka pride.

GRANNY EIKO: "That's how our small pride came to be, young cubs. I hope you will remember this story, so you can pass it down to your cubs one day."

YOUNG CUBS: "Oh wow Granny, that sounds fascinating! What happened after the Iro Azayaka pride was formed? Where did they go? And how come we don't have cool spiritual powers or connections with nature like they did?"

ZEN: "Mother, stop filling the cubs heads with this nonsense, you know none of it's true. Its just an old pridestale."

GRANNY EIKO: "Ahem.... Well, younglings, that's enough storytelling for tonight. We should all get some shuteye, we've a lot to do tomorrow to prepare for the new king's arrival."
